It is now June. My baby is afraid of the pool. Sees other kids going to swim lessons and asks if we're going to make him go back to that place and no refund. I don't know what I expected from a place that was so rude and wouldn't suspend my account when I was paralyzed from the neck down in a hospital 2 hrs away. I registered my grandson for preschool swim lessons. I registered him for intermediate instead of beginner so the Aquatics Director, Megan Morgan told my daughter(she's the one that took me grandson) that she would leave it up to the teacher. The teacher allowed him in. Great. He's excited he loves the water and wants to swim. Within minutes of class starting my daughter starts texting me. She said there were 2 kids in class that were acting up the teacher didn't get them under control. One of them stepped on my grandson so he started crying. The teacher picked him up for about 1.5min then put him back in the water between the 2 kids. She then told the kids to put there faces under the water to blow bubbles and bc he was smaller and BETWEEN the 2 kids he got choked not even having put his face under water. At this point he's screaming and coughing and the teacher is ignoring him while he's hanging on the wall. My daughter went and took him out of the pool got him dressed and left. This is a child that rarely cries when he gets hurt. Later that evening he asked his mom several times to please never make him go back. So in the span of 25min we went from having an excited water loving 3yr old to a terrified 3yr old that has had nightmares since. I left a message the next day for Ms. Morgan outlining everything and asking for a refund. I still have not heard back. I called the morning of 3/25/25. #chrisbryant #ymcaceo

Finding the right daycare in Columbus, GA, however, was not easy. Many places didn't meet my expectations, had no openings, or couldn't accommodate our dietary needs. We don't eat beef or pork, and my daughter requires lactose-free milk. When I discovered Clarian Child Place & Learning Center, I knew it was the right fit before our tour even ended. I was immediately impressed by their security, their willingness to accommodate our dietary restrictions, and the warm, welcoming staff. The children were all smiles, the parents had nothing but positive things to say, and the director at the time, Ms. Kami, made both my daughter's and my own transition seamless. I left with complete peace of mind. My daughter's one-year-old teachers, Ms. Shanice Wheeler and Mrs. Shiara Jones, were truly outstanding. They love and care for their students as if they were their own. In just six months, my daughter was already reciting her ABCs, counting from 1-10, answering "what's 1+1," and learning so much more. I was amazed at how much she was retaining! Beyond academics, they created a fun, joyful classroom environment. My daughter came home singing and dancing every day--"Baby Bumblebee" quickly became our car ride anthem, thanks to Ms. Shanice! I was genuinely sad when she moved up to the Toddler 2's class because we loved them so much. Now, in the Toddler 2's with Mrs. Erica, my daughter continues to thrive. Mrs. Erica is phenomenal--she responds quickly to any messages, keeps me informed, and creates engaging homework projects. She's creative, organized, and supportive, even helping with potty training. Since joining her class, my daughter has been reading books, identifying animals, speaking more clearly, and forming full sentences. We truly love Clarian. This daycare has become a part of our village, and I wouldn't recommend any other place. The staff are exceptional, caring, and take their roles seriously. I would strongly encourage not to put your child here. I dealt with the unthinkable this week. My 4…read moremonth old baby came home with injuries from daycare. He had a gash on his elbow and a bruise on his ear. The next day I called the director and was told "the teacher noticed his elbow but not the bruise. He probably rolled in the crib and hit his head on the side". If a 4 month old was developmentally capable of rolling so hard as to bruise themselves, I'm sure there would have been a lot of crying. So someone should've noticed. Secondly, the parent should always be notified of any kind of injury. The director, Kim Smith, was very dismissive and acted like she didn't care at all. If this wasn't abuse, it was certainly neglect. After withdrawing my child, she implied it was somehow my fault for not inspecting my child there at pick up and notifying the teacher then. But per their policy (which I was not informed of when registering him), parents are not allowed in the classroom. You are made to stand at the door and then leave when your child is handed to you. The teacher did rudely confront me about this policy after I attempted to change my sons diaper. The reason behind this rule being germs on shoes, however all the employees walk from the parking lot straight into the room. So where was I supposed to inspect him at? I asked to see video footage from the room, and I was told there are no cameras (when their website clearly states they have cameras placed around the facility for safety). Not to mention the teachers would be sitting around talking and gossiping while multiple babies were crying. So please do not trust this daycare with your babies.

I received daily complaints about her behavior and suggestions from the owner and her daughter. They suggested that I put my 3 year old on medication and change her diet to change her behavior. As a special education teacher, I was very aware of my daughters behavior and I had also owned two daycares previously in New Jersey. It's unfortunate that neither of them had the educational background to know that you cannot diagnose nor treat a 3 year old with ADHD. The way that you treat the symptoms is with constant rewards and or consequences. Which I encouraged them to do but they did not. It's unfortunate that they lack the knowledge base to ensure the proper education for all students enrolled.

During the time he developed a HATE for his highchair - which was EXTREMELY strange! - because he use to LOVE eating. Between my daughter and me - we snuck in and observed - unbeknownst to the owner and his caregiver. They were leaving him - and all the other kids in there highchairs from the time we dropped him off until their breakfast time - approximately 2 HOURS!!!!! When I approached them, the denied it!!! I told them how my daughter and I snuck in a observed; how I dropped him off at 6:30; she came in 2 times and then I came in at 8:30 and HE WAS STILL SITTING THERE!!! I then contacted Lee County DHR. NOTHING came from it!!!!!!... They were a "reputable" daycare for over 20 years and "never" had any issues with DHR before - or so I was told. This daycare needs to be SHUT DOWN!!!!!!!! IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!!!!
