Surprisingly, the equipment was not slippery in the rain. A lot of the slides were tube slides so we just wiped down the bottom of them. There was a large sandbox with a bunch of trucks and sand toys in it. Lots of picnic tables and some covered shelters.

There is a .5 mike path around a pond adjacent to the park. There are also three picnic tables next to the playground. A small dedicated parking lot with about 25 spots is adjacent. At this time, there is no bathroom available. The playground itself is cute and well thought out. It is a Train theme and the rubbery ground has some printed train tracks and other related pictures. There are three structures -- one for younger children, one for older children, and one for climbing. There are also two kid swings (no infant swings) and one circle swing more than one child can play on. There is no accessible swing in this playground. There's a small fake pond with a crawling log and a stone to climb. Overall, it's a nice playground with good, new equipment. There's a spinning cage to play in for the sensory inclined. There's a "ticket window" for some imaginative play, as well as a small place to sit with a table inside the play area itself. The playground is not fenced but is adjacent to a fenced soccer field. Equipment was hot in the hot summer sun, but that is to be expected when it is 95+ degrees out. The playground is small but has a lot to do, and it would be easy to keep an eye on more than one child at the same time in the space. Lack of a bathroom is annoying, but another excuse to go grab a coffee at the Wake zone then come back to let the kids play more. I look forward to the future greenway connection to Davis Drive playground.

Not massive but fair sized park facility including playground, shelter, playing and ball fields, etc. with paved walking/running path to use that connects to the adjacent Hatcher Creek Greenway. The Deets: During COVID-19 time, I've had a chance to walk over to Morrisville Community Park a couple of times to enjoy some outside time. It is easy to access by car with a parking lot off Morrisville Parkway, or you can walk there as I have using Hatcher Creek Greenway path access. From reading others' descriptions of the park, I expected it to be small (if you just considered the area around the playground) but I would say for Morrisville it's got a good bit of land to enjoy...I took plenty of pics of the areas I encountered). There is a children's playground area, and to the side of it appears to be a little outside fitness area to use. To the other side of the playground, a nice shelter area is available with adjacent bathroom facilities. I noticed a sign posted next to them stating that "this facility is cleaned and sanitized daily for your safety" which is good to know, especially now. When you past the shelter, there is a pretty large open playing field (?pickup games of football/soccer, etc.,?) and beyond that are ball fields. The field 1 is a 301 ft fence ball field and field 2 has a 200 ft fence distance, with both next to a nice facilities building. In between the open playing field and fields 1 & 2, there is a smaller ball field (field 3) that appears to be under repairs at the time of this writing. Park users can enjoy a nice paved walkway around all of the park area, and it connects up with the Hatcher Creek Greenway on both sides of the park. It makes for a nice loop in itself for a good walk or to go on further to the greenway for more exercise. In all, As with the greenway, I find Morrisville Community Park a great resource that the town of Morrisville provides to the public for use, especially when you need your exercise to be in an outside setting. I am a fan!

There is a large shaded area in the center of the playground with seating and ample trees. This place has a great climbing wall if your kid is into that. There are also benches surrounding the park and a restroom, tables, and a digging sandbox. I highly recommend that you check it out. It's a wonderful spot!

They've also got these cement (or some sort of stone anyway) tables and chairs that are built into the ground. They are great for stopping to chill and have a snack or for playing chess. One of my favorite things about this park is that the big kids section and younger kids playground are pretty well separated as well as fenced in so you don't need to worry about your toddler running off and disappearing. The toilet here is pretty crap ngl but hey, at least they have a toilet st all. Look out for the birds in the summer. They will stare you down and follow you like you're treading on their turf and it's pretty damn intimidating haha RUN!!!

Big, flat and plenty of room for running! The playgrounds looked quite popular and include rubber-surfaced areas for ages 2-5 and 5-12. Very busy today with parents and little ones running about. The park has a few benches here and there, especially the one in front of Cooper's Pond. I'm not sure if the pond is stocked, but being near the water was lovely. Both parks have playgrounds and the walk across the bridge is something the kids seem to really enjoy. How exhilarating it must be to stand over a busy 8-lane highway with traffic whizzing underneath you when you are only 3 feet tall! Especially if you can elicit truck honking with some hefty fist pumps! The water fountains offer filtered water and there is even one placed at ground level for thirsty pets. The main trail leads to the pedestrian bridge across 64 that connects to Marla Dorrel Park, so if your kids are older (like, 6+), there is definitely something for them as well.
