There were plenty of salad and gluten free options on this menu, I got the chicken salad - $24.90 iceberg lettuce, avocado, cucumber, pickled ginger. I'm Not sure if the salad was that great or if I was so excited to finally eat a salad. I don't remember the service being that great. I was in/out pretty quickly. The restaurant was cute but I don't remember seeing the views that some others mentioned.

I sat by the window and ordered as quickly as I could. Since I was with a tour group, I had limited time, so ended up having to take my food to go. I went with the Sesame Crusted Atlantic Salmon, served with pan fried potatoes and avocado salsa. The Salmon was lightly fried, delicately crispy, tender and well seasoned. That Sesame crust was also beautifully done, with black sesame and regular sesame. Potatoes were nice and crunchy, with great flavor, while the avocado salsa included red pepper and onion, which gave it a lovely acidity. This was fresh and colorful addition to the dish. For dessert, I had the Sticky Date Cake with butterscotch sauce. I've tried this in the States, and wasn't really a fan but having it in Australia was a much better experience. The cake was delightfully moist, with the wonderful taste of dates, was made even tastier with the rich, sweet sauce with notes of caramel and toffee. Service was pretty good. The waiter came right away, but the food just took a little longer than expected.

there are quite a few cafes--all with similar menus up and down this street. but based on the one…read morereview prior to mine--we decided to give cleanslate a try. can i just say that other reviewer as SPOT ON? first--my mocha was delicious. robust and chocolatey. the barista was great. second--when we say the food is very quality, let me specify a bit more what that means. the ingredients individually and combined were top notch. but more importantly, the technique to put the breakfast together was unusually sophisticated. the scramble was delicate and fluffy--so yellow as eggs in australia seem to be. but the meats all had a nice sear and bite. and don't even get me started on the mushroom/potato thingie--the mushrooms were properly slow fried--that takes time. but it leaves a flavor rich mushroom with less of the diluting water in it. the pancakes were a bit heavier than i like em--but still good. i'd say they were more substantive without sacrificing fluffiness. and the maple syrup was appreciated. if you're american, consider requesting the australian scoop of ice cream on the site instead of atop. :) cleanslate was very much worth it. maybe one of the redeeming meals we had in the blue mountains. we found that almost every place recommended on the hop on/hop off bus was a bust. but this place was a hidden gem!

However there is no mention of gluten or gluten free on the menu. Maybe this is related to the tightening of Australian rules into "gluten friendly" rather than gluten free. Since their specialty is hot sandwiches, I'm up in the air on the gluten front. If they will allow choosing from the sides and extras menu, that would be perfect. I also like how many of their prices have stayed reasonable, with five dollar coffees, I don't know if I can eat them but their egg sandwiches for Brekky look positively dreamy.

They told us they have a business in Alaska and fish for their own salmon and transport it here so of course I had to try the special. It was fantastic. Can't eat it like a sandwich so ask for a fork :) Hubs had the Deli Rose and loved it. Ate every bit. Friendly service, lots of languages spoken here. Loved it Aussie 43.50

We had a piece of quiche, a mocha and a hot tea. Everything was excellent. My wife loved that the teacup came out preheated. The coffee was very good and quiche exceptional. The walls are decorated with vintage motorbike advertising and photos. There is a beautiful Vincent motorbike in the middle of the cafe. It was busy the entire time we were there. People getting take away as well as eating in. It's cozy inside and there is some outside seating.

The croissant is ok, I suppose you can't really go wrong with ham and cheese. The coffee was really strong, and the bitterness lingered even after I mix it with the condensed milk. It wasn't bad, just perhaps a tad strong for my tastes. This is a small shop with a charming atmosphere, and I am also letting the quality stuff slide a bit because it is pretty far outside a major city. It is a decent place to stop by because you are surrounded by tourist traps anyway.
