Like most places in Lubeck, they take card, but sometime the EC card readers are flakey if you are in from the US or Canada, so take case has well. Euros. Have a German colleague call ahead and reserve if weekend or summer evening. maybe OK for groups, if someone calls ahead, but I prefer for 2-5 people. They are close to the Dom, off the tourist track, but easy walking distance from the gate or the Rathouse. Really, don't go to the Block House or a chain - you are in a medieval city, eat local! I expected more for the price. The service was very attentive, but almost to a fault. Every couple minutes we were interrupted. We sat upstairs, where there are four small tables crowded together in a tiny space. Our evening ended on a particularly sour note when we asked for the check and handed over our gift certificate. A few minutes later, we were smugly informed that the gift certificate -- which we received during COVID and did not include an expiration date -- had expired and the restaurant refused to accept it.
