We have been going to St Ambrose for 15 years. As defined by the St Ambrose handbook, my child was harassed and bullied by a student and his parent who volunteers at the school for over a year. In addition, the same volunteer parent spread vicious, disgusting lies about our family throughout the school and during school functions which principal dodge admitted to hearing herself, but did nothing about and claimed it was "not in the schools purview". After documenting each incident with principal dodge, she lied about her ability to act on them, mischaracterized them and did nothing to solve the problem. Once principal dodge was caught lying and her integrity was under attack, she withdrew our daughter from the school during the Christmas vacation. My daughter had no disciplinary issues, was no threat to the school and posed no danger, yet was thrown out of St Ambrose hastily, separated from friends she has had most of her life, teachers she adored and resulted in a major disruption in her education. I feel that what principal dodge did was disgraceful and cowardly. Five months after we moved on, the volunteer parent who harassed our daughter appears to be stalking our daughter on social media. In my opinion, this school and principal dodge are more concerned with their personal reputation and will sacrifice the education, safety, and wellbeing of the students to protect themselves.

Sylvan promised a "program" to help my son through honors Math in 9th grade, but we now realized that their tutors were not equipped to help him from his "C" average. Despite their promise of a study program, learning techniques and the like, their tutors were unable to complete my son's homework or help him at all. He brought an "F" for a homework that had been revised by the tutor and after all the work brought home a sequence of "F"'s. We then realized that we had spend $1200 for babysitting, where he was one of a group of students doing his own homework and little assistance. In the end we recouped $480 of the $1200 deposit - not including the $170 "assessment" fee, which was simply lost.

I chose Sylvan as the Director Ronnie Evans & the other staff members were just so truthful. I drive 25 mins to go there just because I respect the truth. Huntington is 5 mins away from me & I chose Sylvan only because I can trust Ronnie's word about my child's academics.
