Grateful for Principal Dodge and all the staff and volunteers at Saint Ambrose Catholic School. Due to unforeseen circumstances my grandchildren had to move in with 6th and 8th graders. They were welcomed with open arms by the staff and children. This year one moves on to highschool and is a magnet student also in the Cambridge Program and my grandson moves on to 7th grade at St. Ambrose which he loves. Thank you again! read more

I would encourage anyone considering St Ambrose for their child's education to visit www.stambrosecatholicschool.com. The section on Cyber Bullying should be particularly disturbing. We have been going to St Ambrose for 15 years. As defined by the St Ambrose handbook, my child was harassed and bullied by a student and his parent who volunteers at the school for over a year. In addition, the same volunteer parent spread vicious, disgusting lies about our family throughout the school and during school functions which principal dodge admitted to hearing herself, but did nothing about and claimed it was "not in the schools purview". After documenting each incident with principal dodge, she lied about her ability to act on them, mischaracterized them and did nothing to solve the problem. Once principal dodge was caught lying and her integrity was under attack, she withdrew our daughter from the school during the Christmas vacation. My daughter had no disciplinary issues, was no threat to the school and posed no danger, yet was thrown out of St Ambrose hastily, separated from friends she has had most of her life, teachers she adored and resulted in a major disruption in her education. I feel that what principal dodge did was disgraceful and cowardly. Five months after we moved on, the volunteer parent who harassed our daughter appears to be stalking our daughter on social media. In my opinion, this school and principal dodge are more concerned with their personal reputation and will sacrifice the education, safety, and wellbeing of the students to protect themselves. read more

Anyone considering this school should read and rely on the reviews of the parents whose children attended this school instead of the reviews of the schools' employees who have a financial interest in the school and whose job might be at risk. I find it almost comical that an employee waited 6 years to give a juvenile, pandering review and coincidently did it at a time where the school's reputation is being challenged. I'm embarrassed for this person. It reads like the Yelp equivalent of a hostage video script. Blink twice if you need to be rescued. My family attended St Ambrose for 15 years. For the last year my daughter was constantly harassed by a student and his mother who volunteers there. Principal dodge did nothing to stop it. After repeatedly reporting these matters to principal dodge, she lied about her ability to act on them, mischaracterized them and ultimately humiliated our daughter by throwing her out of the school over Christmas vacation. Months later, it appears as though this volunteer parent who harassed our daughter is cyber stalking our daughter. Based on my experiences, I don't feel that St Ambrose provides a safe environment, and I don't feel that principal dodge can effectively run this school. If you are committed to attending a local Catholic school you should consider St Coleman or St Joan of Arc. They have more to offer. read more

This school has been such a blessing! I have nothing but wonderful things to say and highly recommend to everyone!! My son has grown so much spiritually, educationally, and socially. He started with VPK and now is about to go into first grade. The whole staff is so caring and really goes above and beyond. They offer smaller class sizes so the students are recognized individually and receive the help and attention they need and deserve. Ms Dodge (the principal) & Ms Lauren (office manager) do an incredible job of keeping everything organized and top tier. Sending him to Saint Ambrose is by far the best decision I've made as a parent. read more

I have had an amazing experience with St. Ambrose and Lisa Dodge for over 4 years. They are very professional and really care about being the best educational facility in the area. My 4 children attended this school for 5 years and 2 of my grandchildren for 2 yrs and unless your children will be attending for preschool thru 3 grade be aware of several staff members lying to cover their actions to make your children look like their the problem. They also will favor and single out certain children they know are weak or have no merit to manipulate the situation without having facts. They allow their staff to disrespect parents and students unless your a parent like me that confronts it head on by speaking with parents and students to get facts and then confronting them with it your still talking to a wall. There are or should I say 4 teachers that actually cared for the wellbeing and safety of the children and tried to do the right thing but it was short lived. As a mother of 8 kids I would ask yourself this why has this school been open so long and enrollment has not increased actually decreased. When a private school is excelling numbers go up not stay the same or decrease. I could literally write a book on this school with all the videos, emails, and pictures I have. Mrs Dodge you truly lost focus and passion to why you came to St. Ambrose but then again you always said your hands were tied. One last thing! When you have a school that is part of a church of broward county why is it that all the toys and funds raised are relocated to the miami location? Help our Broward County Families Miami has their own. It all seems to boil down to politics not about helping our children or our community. read more
