I loved the empowerment behind not needing a hospital as well as the mentality of not interfering with natural progression in labor that these types of operations have. Once I found out there were a couple of birth houses in my area I scheduled appointments with both. I chose Dayspring in the end because the midwives there matched up with my personal beliefs more and I loved the house itself. It has a delicate and homey feel to it very similar to "The Birth House" in Oly. The midwives and staff of ladies were always so welcoming and sweet. I can be a bit reserved with new people but I felt very safe and in good hands the whole time. It didn't take very long for me to open up with these ladies. I love that they include massages in their birth packages as well as ultrasounds. I didn't have to go through the hospital for anything. I did go through my naturopath for certain perscriptions based on some blood work but the midwives at Dayspring drew the blood which is nice too. Both Inga and Jennifer (the midwives) are very proffesional and sincere. I've truely grown to love these women and I so look forward to delivering my next baby with them. I had a short labor but my daughter was a water born baby and it was just so beautiful. I felt that the staff really just has a heart for those first precious moments to belong to the family. They were just so relaxed and it felt very organic. When they did interfere it was never intrusive.
