Beautiful course, nice mix of challenges. Great grounds team, very good at keeping the leaves off the fairways and greens since we went in late fall w leaves falling .

Tomlinson Run State Park offers breakfast at the campground on Saturdays from 8am-12pm, Memorial Day through Labor Day, and it's truly a hidden gem. The food was absolutely delicious--hot, fresh, and made with care. What's even better? It's all prepared by amazing volunteers, and every dollar goes right back into supporting the park. You can really feel the community pride in every bite. We'll definitely be back again before the season ends. If you're local (or even just passing through), make the stop. It's a great way to kick off a Saturday morning surrounded by nature and good people.

First time visiting this park. It is on the small side compared to other WV State Parks. This means…read morethat it is faster to get to where you are going in the park (no long road in). As you enter the park there is a road to the right that takes you to the campground (BTW, I have rated the campground separately under Campground at Tomlinson Run State Park). As you drive forward you will pass the Park Superintendent's house (on the right). Behind the house is a tiny building that serves at the park HQ. This is where you need to go if you want to stamp your VIPP card. Not obvious and you feel like you trespassing on the residence there but just drive past and then to your right and find the stamp. Along this road on the left you will find a picnic area and shortly after you will come to the edge of a small lake (on the left). On the right is the entrance to a road the winds up and around to the top of a hill (through the woods). There are two picnic areas. The first is off to the left before really heading up the hill. This one was buggy when I was there. At the top of the hill there is a parking lot and picnic areas. Nice spot! The road that goes through the park continues onward and then there is a parking area on the right above the lake. At the lake's edge are paddle boat rentals. If you continue on the road straight on the road you will end up exiting the park.

I finally visited for the first time in late June and was pleasantly surprised at what a fun time we had. You can either register online prior to your arrival or you can use one of their ipads to register. Each player gets a golf ball that is individually coded to them. So it tracks every stroke you take (no cheating) and automatically adds the score (including bonus points on some holes). One nice thing is that you can skip around if there are lines at the holes. This is really helpful especially if you are there with a group. They also have tables throughout the course that let you place your drink down. You do need to pay attention to make sure you stay on your own course because the two courses are right next to each other. If your ball suddenly isn't registering, it is probably because you are on the wrong course. Food is pretty tasty (although a little overpriced). You can eat any time and they have an option that you can order food before you golf and have it ready for when you are done (but I imagine it could get difficult to try and time that correctly), There is metered street parking right outside and a large surface lot behind the building. Overall a fun place to take your family or a unique date night.

It appeared most people were putting not so much eating. We played nine holes and I could have easily stayed for another nine. It is pricey for four people. I appreciated the servers coming to the holes for drinks. Each hole has a space to place your drinks while you putt. PuttShack was the perfect family outing for us. The ball is digitally assigned to each person. There is no keeping track of the score. Every time you put the ball on the tee the computer recognizes you.

I called to ask some info and it took a couple times to get through. The guy who answered was a bit irritable and made me unsure about booking a tee time. I went ahead and booked anyway, and I'm glad I did. I had a great experience. Got paired with 2 pretty experienced golfers that didn't mind a newbie tagging along. The course is beautiful. They have one 18 hole course and a putting green but that's it. No driving range. They also have a clubhouse that has some snacks and beers but super laid back. Kind of like a concession stand. I think this is a great place to start off if you are learning to golf. Not strict on the dress code either. Can't wait to go back!

I have NEVER been so disrespected as I was today at this course! DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU-RE A WOMAN!…read moreTHEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT HOW YOU ARE TREATED! I was at the course and not only was it a complete mud pit and not taken care of, I was treated like total garbage. While playing I was accused of stealing someone's ball. Like seriously. 1. Im not a theif. And 2. He had literally asked me earlier if I saw his ball because he shanked the hell out of his shot and he hit it into the rough. Maybe he should've been told to stop blaring music and he'd play better. I know I would've done better without it distracting me. I told him I didn't take his ball and only found 2 bright orange balls both of which weren't his. Then he had the audacity to accuse me again at the 17th hole and I told him no. He then proceeded to call my boyfriend vulgar names and then told him he was a f***ot. When I went into the club house to ask for a manager I was met with a guy who said he wasn't a manager but could "help" me. He didnt help. He was actually the opposite and laughed at me. I informed him about my situation outside about the 20 something year old behind me who accused me of stealing his ball and were super vulgar that he can't do anything about it and that he basically didnt care about how it made me feel. I don't think that courses should let these type of people play and cause issues. No one should talk to a woman this way and someone should teach the employees at this course some manners and respect for woman as well. I know there aren't as many woman that play golf as men, but when we go, we do not like to be disrespected and have people try to start fights with us when we have done NOTHING wrong. Any woman who knows her man plays at this course, be sure to let him know that you don't approve and he shouldn't either. I will NOT be back.
