I wish I would have found Ponga's years before I actually did. This was the best place to leave my little Rio. She was not friendly toward other dogs and Pongas took special care to make sure she still received her "play time" even though it was with humans. Knowing she was being well treated made my vacation less stressful. I no longer have a pet since Rio became ill during COVID and didn't make it. However, if I did have a pet and was still living in Mandeville I wouldn't hesitate to use Ponga's. read more

Pongas has 2 groomers that abuse and traumatize dogs. One picks up dogs by their ears and shakes them when they dont sit still. Try having a coherent conversation with the owner. She is always so drunk and reeking of booze. They charge for services the daycare pets do not get. The abuse of the puppies is horrible and unforgivable. People who are paying $80 a day for boarding need to know what happens over the weekends with their pets. The owner overbooks and puts the pit bulls in the suites. Your smaller pets are being put into crates overnight and over the weekends when they are paying for rooms for their pets. read more

I called this morning to arrange for my dog to attend daycare. My dog is a sweet mix, of honestly I have no idea what, who is a lanky, lazy thing who weighs 40 pounds and sleeps in bed with us. The man who answered the phone insisted that I identify what breed she is. My best guess is that she may be part pit, but that is honestly a shot in the dark. She could be a hound. She could be anything. I called pongas because a coworker, who also has a mutt like mine, had good experiences there. However, the man who answered the phone advised that pit bulls (mind you, I did not say my dog was a pit bull) have poor temperaments and they do not let them attend day care and would not let me make an appointment without meeting her first. I was planning on using pongas to do a monthly bath and biweekly daycare while my house is cleaned, so that she could have some fun and not be in the way. Now I will take my business elsewhere. Any company who deals with animals should know that any breed can be aggressive, and should only deny service once a problem has arisen. Shame on you pongas. read more

I am so impressed with Ponga's. They are amazing and did the best grooming my dog Jake has ever had. Besides the grooming the attention that they gave him was outstanding! I love this place. I used to use them for boarding and doggy daycare, 2010-2012, and I moved away from the area. I am back, pug sitting my friend's pugs and took them in for grooming. Ponga's was wonderful with my furbaby. Blackie was a lab- chow mix and had separation anxiety. I needed a place that had daycare for pets. After searching, I found Ponga's and was so pleased with how they took care of my furbaby we became a regular customer for almost 6 years. No one else but Ponga's could take care of my sweet dog. He loved going there and got excited when we drove up in the morning. They treated him like he was part of the family. Holy Moly was this place AWESOME!! My Husband are traveling around the country and have been in and out of many places on our journey and this place was great to us and our cat. The owners are super friendly and even walked us over next door to get some gumbo best in the city she said and it was GOOD! The staff was nice and very informative. We used this facility for cat boarding while we went into town for the day. No questions asked when we were a little late picking our cat up! Highly recommend!!!! read more
