Enjoyed staying at Pontins Camber Sands holiday park theactivities on site is excellent with everything to do for everyone from crazy golf to air hockey. For entertainment the blue coats provide a great cabaret show. I will be going back to Pontins later on this year and hopefully to the Camber Sands resort.

HORRIBLE AVOID AT ALL COST NO MATTER THE PRICE. Ok what do I start with first, hmmm oh yeah the bad rooms you stay in. Well the beds literally feel like your laying on springs with no cover, i woke up in the morning with a aching back, the beds didn't come with quilt covers or pillow cases making it itchy to lay on, you have to options for this bring your own or rent some, THEY COULD OF AT LEAST MAKE IT COME WITH SOME. The tv literally has no SCART or HDMI just and AV plug which made my DVD playing worthless when coming back so i just sat on my phone playing Temple Run. Now the bath room. Okay so the bathroom DIDN'T HAVE A LOCK, it was super awkward when my friend Dennis worked in on me taking a poop. The toilet was okay but oh, oh the showerbath it had no room to lay and made my back more in pain after sleeping in the bed. While in the the topic of the rooms While walking to my room i heard a load of people screaming "My rooms Flooded S**T." This kinda made me worried my room would get flooded out as well knowing Pontins! The canteen was well lets explain. The food taste like cardboard no joke honest to god, it taste like McDonalds had rubber food and a shell of cardboard. It was the worst food i ever had, it also gave my friend the sick bug. I think it should be shut down as it was horrible and god knows the hi-gene level. Now last but not least entertainment THAT WAS A RIP OFF. Okay so a fake Jack Sparrow statue you didn't get the right for, pictures of Bugs Bunny saying "Don't tread in rabbit holes." And arcade machine s and go-karting. Oh boy what fun, yeh just DON'T GO TO PONTINS!!!!! read more
Have to say how much fun we had here when the kids were younger. That hasn't changed..but the place has been upgraded. Went for a Day Visit with daughter and grandaughter..great fun! The staff were brilliant in helping my little one in her wheelchair and did ALL they could to ensure she had a good time. Big Thank You to you all for making her day special. Brilliant jobperhaps you can help the old boy next time!!!!! read more
I was here at the weekend playing at a Funk and Soul weekender, sounds pretty cool right? Well, the event itself was great fun, all different types of people from across the country gathered to watch bands and listen to great music. The positive part of the review ends here. I have never been to such an awful place. It looks as if it hasn't had any kind of renovation or work done since the early 90's. Upon arriving at our chalet, my group were hit by the smell of damp. Paper thin walls, a sofa bed that wasn't fit for purpose and a kitchenette with no utensils provided. The bathroom left a lot to be desired, a dirty looking shower cubicle along with a sad looking toilet. A lot of the signs around the place had glaring spelling and grammatical errors, which says quite a lot to me really. The Bedrooms had what I can only describe as two thirds of a single bed inside, complete with plastic matress, flat pillows and cheap duvet, with no covers. I understand this place is budget but come on, the walls could do with a lick of paint! On site there is a pub called the Queen Vic! The cheapest place to buy alcohol on site, it wasn't too bad here. If you want food you're stuck with a place that looks like a primary school canteen from 1991, a burger joint or a pizza place. I didn't have the pizza but members of my group said it was awful. I really didn't want to eat any of the options available, but I was really hungry so I ended up having a burger. Oh how my stomach regretted it! I could feel my stomach rejecting the food as I was eating it! You can get better burgers from Iceland. If you're planning on coming here with the family, DON'T! read more
Avoid. I went there for one of their fitness weekends, so thankfully I wasn't there for their accommodations nor usual holiday facilities. I was in one of the standard budget accommodations so it's slightly further away from the main reception/hall/pub complex, and being UK it was pouring down rain most of the weekend. I walk was definitely not enjoyable. The place looked tired, the accommodations (container box like) was sub-par. Electricity wasn't included so you have to feed the meter (very retro) in order to have heating & hot water. Although I must give them credit for keeping the place quite clean (given how old the place is) I'm just thankful that I didn't drive all that way for a holiday there. Avoid. read more

My oh my what has happened to Pontins?I know Im used to 5 star hotels for the most part but seriously this is grim. the smell of chip fat and stale beer greets you in the ground floor venue, and the chalets are out of the ark! I didnt thave any towels, cutlery on arrival (noticed lack of towels after I showered!)there is not even a token bar of soap in the bathroom and the beds are like wafers. the upside was i was here for a scooter rally with some mod mates and was with Secret Affair. glad I didn't have to suffer the rest of the entertainment familiar to Pontin folks. And in answer to what has happened to Pontins-they sold it to Britannia Hotel group the worst chain in the UK! read more

Kids had a great time here, we went for 4 nights and although it was enough for us the kids wanted to stay longer. There is a good selection of onsite activities for the younger ones - bike hire, small indoor play area, art/craft room, park areas, huge sand pit. Entertainment in evenings was good, 3 rooms to choose from and they cater for all ages. Restaurant wasnt up to much, food was over priced for the quality, better to self cater. Accomodation was clean, bit out dated but ok to use as a base. Staff were fun and friendly. read more

We went here for a short break last year. The chalet that we stayed in was basic, but adequate for our needs. The only problem with our accommodation was that the tin opener broke, but that was replaced as soon as we reported it. The swimming pool was nice and fun for the children. The entertainment was really good. I would say that it is an ideal place to go if you have children, because if the children are entertained, then you can enjoy your break too. There is plenty to do in the day time, such as crazy golf or hiring a tricycle for about 3 people to ride. If you venture outside the campsite, the beach at Camber sands is really nice. read more

Quite the worst takeaway we have ever had. It arrived 30 mins later than expected; the pasta was one congealed lump and the tacos and fillings were stone cold, the nachos were soggy. It was so bad it was inedible. Initially had a positive response and they seemed genuinely concerned upon phoning, they were very apologetic, asked me to go in to great detail about the problems and promised another meal, free of charge, to be delivered at 8pm the following night. However, an hour before expected delivery they phoned to say they would not be providing the meal as they had closed the kitchen and nor would they reimburse. Needless to say, I won't be using them again. I generally don't like to give bad reviews but the customer service here is appalling. read more

Stayed for 4 nights, park facilities fairly basic as was the accommodation , had to pay extra for activities . Didn't eat on site as food was expensive, evening entertainment was good. Thankfully the weather was good as the beach was excellent , not much to do if the weather was bad. Nice swimming pool, skate park not great for skateboarding but ok for BMX & scooters. Supermarket on site pricey, not much on offer in Camber itself. Overall had a good time but mainly due to the good weather. read more

This place is absolutely the worst takeaway ever!!! Having seen all the promising reviews on Just Eat and the menu sounding amazing we decided to order. We ordered a variety of dishes to share as we could not decide what to have individually. The soft shell tacos were filled with a horrible slop with little taste. The homemade chips were soggy and so so greasy that after one no more could be eaten. The chicken burrito was by far the most foul thing I have ever eaten. It tasted of just grease and had only chicken and no other filling as expected from a mexican dish. The juicy lucy burger which promised 2 pattys with molten cheese in the middle was nothing more than a cheap burger with cheap cheese on top in a stale and crumbling bun!! I actually cant believe how this place has promising reviews on Just Eat.It was that bad after 2 mouthfulls the lot was left. The full order of £18.04 was inedible and a disgrace. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!! read more

WOULD NEVER GO THERE AGAIN- We went on Holiday to Pontins and had such a bad experience so we sent them a complaint letter. I waiting over 30 days to receive a letter back from them giving us 10% off our next visit to you. This is not acceptable and we will defiantly not be returning to this holiday park, we wanted a full refund and if you were to read the letter below I feel that our bad experience would defiantly warrant a full refund. I feel that my complaint has not been looked into or taken seriously - Our Letter of complaint to Pontins- Dear Sir / Madam, I am writing to you following our recent holiday with Pontins Camber sands from Friday 3rd Monday 6th August under the name of Ian Ambrose (chalet number 155). This is a letter of complaint as we were extremely unhappy with the service and the facilities provided. After settling in on Friday and attending the shows / arcades we arrived back at our chalet at approx 11:00pm, we were rudely awoken at 1:00am by a group of approx 6 teenagers between the ages of 15 19 years old who were screaming / shouting and drinking alcohol. This woke the whole house including our 2 youngest children aged 8 & 10. After listening to this for about 2 hours this was obvious that they were going to continue this all night so it left us no choice but to call security by this time all members of our household had been up for over 2 hours. Shortly after the phone call the security guard arrived to have a word but not before handing them a lighter to light their cigarettes but also had a joke and laugh with then which was extremely unprofessional. Not only did we get little sleep but we were woken up again at 6:00am due to the upstairs packing and dragging cases around the floor. During Saturday day we bought some earplugs as we did not want another sleepless night. Again after returning from an evening out we were woken at approx 12:30am by loud noises and music coming again from the group of girls, not only were they just as noisy as the previous night but they were also leaning up against our front room window where 2 x members of our family were sleeping. Due to the loud noise the earplugs made no difference, we immediately called security whereby they arrived again and offered the girls a lighter and have a general laugh with them. The security asked them to turn of their music which they did but did not reduce the noise that was coming out of their mouths. We then called them again at approx 3:30am when a female and male security guard attended but they were still making a noise after they had left.So once again we had another really bad nights sleep, the following morning there were beer cans, champagne bottles and cigarettes butts outside our chalet. On Sunday morning my daughter went to reception to discuss this matter and was told by the deputy manager (who was more concerned about it being all men we were complaining about) that he would arrive at the girls chalet at 10:00am that morning to have a word. Unfortunately by 6:00pm Sunday night they had already started drinking and shouting so we made a decision to pack up and leave straight way (1 x day early) as we were so exhausted and did not want another bad night sleep, upon leaving the park we headed to reception to hand in the keys which turned out to be closed and when leaving the reception area we made conversation with another family who could see that we were not happy and advised us that they had only paid £89 for a family of 5 whereby we paid £289 (which was halved from £578) for a family of 7. I have always understood that Pontins is a family orientated park but this was definitely not the case. I am absolutely furious that as a single mum of 6 who can only afford 1 x holiday a year could be so disappointed and upset with not only the service provided by members of your staff (security guard) but also your facilities that were not well managed or maintained to a basic standard. I attended this exact same park over 7 years ago and I can confirm that it is no where near as clean, well kept and managed as it was back then, it has actually alot worse, when your website states that your holiday park is newly refurbished and fun for all the family! When driving into the park on Friday we were all gobsmacked by the sight of the surrounding chalets and entertainment facilities which we could only describe as a prison! Driving around the park to get to the main entertainment building we viewed1. the sports court, which is all falling down and the sports facilities had seen better days.2. Work being carried out on chalets fridges, ovens and carpets left all over grassed areas and skips overflowing with rubbish.3. General waste, cigarette butts, beer cans and glasses. On seeing all of this we decided to go in the entertainment building with hope that things would change on the inside. We were sadly mistaken! On realizing we could not check in until 4pm, we decided to take a walk around the park and view other read more

Finally something different to the usual Pizza and Kebab rubbish that Darlington has historically offered. I have ordered a few times from this place and the food is always delicious. Yes, they take longer than the usual 45 minutes but I don't mind that at all because the food is great, the service is friendly and the guy who owns the business (Paul I think) seems to take a real pride in delivering great food with amazing service. What a breath of fresh air! I would strongly recommend the Slider Burgers. They are small so order more than one but they are sooooo tasty. See you again soon! read more

Terrible food. Nothing tasted as it should. Chicken tortilla just sated of pure grease, chips were much the same and juicy Lucy burger were poor quality with no cheese left in the middle as it had all leaked out. I would not recommend this food to anyone. Disappointed as I was looking forward to it when I read the menu due to the comparison with man v food. Sadly it bears no similarities other than the titles of the dishes read more
