So i thought what have i got to lose and it was the best decision I've made. My bad back was not the problem it was the associated pain in my Hip, leg and dead foot. So I found exercise a chore and being overweight didnt help. I booked a package of sessions, where after two I'd already noticed a huge difference. I've now completed my treatment with Gareth and I can only say that he is a weird miracle worker, his methods seemed a little strange at first but as he works he explains everything as he go's along and all makes great sense. I now have no pain at all in my hip, I could barely stand for 15 mins and sometimes walking was excruciating. Now I've started to regain feeling in my foot, my calf is better than ever. In fact I've now used three different osteopaths, not because the previous ones were bad it's just they've retired and I've moved house. In fact my first osteopath was a blind guy which was interesting - he sorted my back pain in one session which was pretty impressive. James at Clevedon Osteopath was brilliant (he was fully sighted as far as I'm aware), he took time to understand my situation, talked constantly, telling me what he was doing (that's a good thing by the way) and really made a difference. At the end of the second session we'd made real progress, enough that I don't think I need to go back again. The important bit here was that he was happy for me to make that decision, I was pressured to continue treatment and he left it with me. The practice itself is in a nice old building which I'm guessing was once a home but is a smart, brightly lit, professional feeling environment. My knowledge of backs and the treatment is very limited but James seemed to really know his stuff, was able to talk about recent studies and took an interest in my situation - I certainly didn't feel like another number (or back) being crunched. If you've got a bad back, skip the doctor and for a very reasonable amount you can get rid of that pain a lot quicker.

Receptionist, absolutely fantastic if you get one of the 3 good ones, if you happen to not get one of the good ones, good luck. Doctors, the doctors are amazing if you get one of the 2 good ones (usually a locum), if you don't get one of the good ones, then good luck. If your a woman, then don't see the female doctors, as they will tell you that being a woman you should learn to sucks up pain, you deserve to be in pain, you should stop moaning, stop wasting time, women deserve pain, get a grip, lose weight... If you see a male doctor, then you'll probably be dismissed as hysterical or a time waster or my favourite, nope I don't believe you so I'm going to ignore everything you've told me. I don't think that last one is just the male doctors in ashgrove, cos I've experienced it in the hospital also. You will find it near impossible to see the same doctor twice! Nurses, pretty good, they seem to have got the nurses right! Hence the 2 stars (: I been in ashgrove since i was about 9 when we moved to pontypridd, I tried leaving to go to another surgery but got totally overwhelmed by the paperwork needed to transfer, cos with modern technology you'd think it'd be a bit simpler than half a tree worth of paper and the old fashioned way of filling in a form for another person to put it on the system, and when you need it done for 4 people, then overwhelmed. I would not recommend ashgrove to anyone new to the area
