This place has a little bit of everything: a magical children's book store and reading area, a card and stationary shop section, a traditional bookstore (mostly gift-type books in my opinion) like coffee table books or very boutique, aesthetically-pleasing books, and there's a coffee shop with pastries inside too. Amy, the owner, is friendly and her enthusiasm is contagious. The staff was very friendly and, along with Amy, shared about the history of the building and the activities held at the bookshop. In one area of the bookshop there is local history research and archives available to the public. There is also an area for local authors. There are both used and new books, reasonably priced. Recently the bookshop had a Scottish chef/author from Pendleton's sister city in Scotland visit. The bookshop hosted a signing for his fourth cookbook. Patrons can sign up for a newsletter for the bookshop and/or additional information about the art area located upstairs in The Rafter Room (local artists-mostly a cool selection of pottery pieces along with paintings and other items). There is a back door that could be used as a wheelchair entrance. Don't think the second floor is accessible. This is a lovely addition to our historic Pendleton square...a combination of a local historic building and a unique bookshop.

They specialize in selling locally made artwork and crafts. There is jewelry, lots of art work, woodworking items, scarves, greeting cards, antiques, stained glass and on and on. There is also a little clothing boutique and bird supply store. It seems that every time I go they have added something new. They also have a bathroom and a few food and beverage items for those on the trail. Good prices. Stop in if you are in the mood for shopping, reading or want to sell your own crafts in the store. The two sisters are delightful. They also bring in local musicians from time to time.
