Our company's invited guest speaker to our convention this year was refused roadside assistance by Pop-A-Lock who has a contract with her insurance company. This neglect of contract left her on the side of the road in freezing temperatures the morning after Thanksgiving -- with 2 little kids. The owner (who answered the call) refused to get out of bed, instead attempting to anger and frustrate our guest and enjoying disrespecting and blowing her off. There is no excuse for this type of behavior. this company should be shunned at all costs. read more

Hey I don't do reviews much. But POP A LOCK saved my day. It's a long story ofcourse but my van was locked while running with 36 live crab in it. FREAK OUT! I had to rekey my home had three deadbolts three doors I was quoted $128 plus two keys come with that charge. So I hired them. The serviceman came to the home in a timely manner got to work finish and I had four extra keys made for a total of 6 keys. Then came the bill. The service agent told me $162. PLUS ASKED ME TO TIP HIM 20%...WTF.....TIP A SERVICE PERSON? I did not tip. I paid with a credit card he was not able to show me the receipt as it was sent to my email address. I got home I found out they charged me for 5 doors and parts fee that was not explained, and a charge for all 6 keys. I have no complaints about their service it was fine. Flat tire on I-516 last night. Pitch black, traffic whizzing by fast. I wasn't about to get out of my car! It seems not many businesses are doing road side assistance these days. Forget AAA, I couldn't get to a human being on my phone to even ask for help. Have already cancelled them. After an hour sitting in my car calling every number I could Google, Pop A Lock agreed to come fix my flat tire. Boy was I grateful! Not only did Pop A Lock show up, they were on site within 15 minutes! The technician was very helpful and very pleasant. Pop A Lock has you turn on location services on your iPhone and they know exactly where to find you. It was wonderful. The charge was only $28. Two services that couldn't come gave me estimates of $100 and $125. I smiled gratefully as I paid my bill last night. Hooooray for Pop A Lock. read more

Pop-A-Lock always comes through! Whether it's for locking keys in the car, changing tires, or jump starting a car, they can do it all and they can do it quick! I've had to use Pop-A-Lock at least 3 times within a year for the named services above, and in each time they got to me within less than an hour. Also, they were able to get to me in the most confusing places to find me at (i.e. school parking lot that's hidden and my apartment complex that has a confusing layout). Each employee I have worked with have been extremely nice and helpful in all my mishaps with my car, and have given me great advice moving forward. I believe they are available 24/7 or close to it when speaking with one employee about the shifts they have and how they look out for each other throughout their shifts. That alone showed me that not only do they do great work, but the establishment is full of great people. read more

This company charged me extra $130 when they were supposed to bring the lock with them they even admitted it. They charged me $646.12 for one lock he had to run to home depot it was there fault he didn't have the lock he was at my home 20 minutes ran to home depot picked up a lock and charge me $130 extra dollars management claims that wasn't for his extra time it was an upcharge for a lock that they were supposed to bring called discover they are fighting the charges for me. So as you might imagine, people get locked out of their own homes sometimes. It happens. Well, as I was in a hurry, and since I had my phone, I called Pop-A-Lock and requested services. Ofcourse it was a Sunday morning at 11am and it was blazing hot. I was told it would be a 25 minute wait and even that seemed unbearable because of the Savannah heat. But I had to oblige because I had no other choice. I was quoted the $47 fee and told that I had to provide proof that I was the homeowner before receiving the service. So, after I scheduled the service, William, my assigned technician called and came me his ETA and asked for the brand of my lock to make sure he would have the right equipment. I thought he would be late but he actually arrived within 20 minutes. He called 5 minutes before he was supposed to arrive to make sure he was in the right area. Once he got he, I gave him prove of residence, ID, and payment. He then quickly fixed the lock. He was warm, patient, and friendly. He was very helpful as well. He also told me that as long as I kept the physical receipt, that I would be able to receive 10% any future services at any time. I always appreciate great customer service! read more

My battery went dead at Fort Pulaski yesterday and Allstate's Roadside Assistance tried to send this business out to jump the car. When the technician found out where I was, he refused to come out and said he would call Roadside Assistance back. He never did and caused a three hour delay in my service. Outstanding service and reasonable price. I recently called on behalf of a old lady who locked her self out. She wanted me to use a coat hanger to unlock her nice car. My wife and 2 year old grandson were traveling from Jacksonville, FL to Santee, SC and just south of exit 99 on I-95 (Savannah, GA exit) she had a flat tire. She called me as I was in Jacksonville upset because she had no idea where she needed to go or how to put the spare tire on her car. I walked her thru contacting the roadside assistance we have with our car insurance and they sent Victor from Pop-A-Lock of Savannah - in less then 30 minutes later he was there with a smile and rescue. He advised my wife he would have the spare on in less then 10 minutes and she would be on her way to Tires Plus in Savannah to have the tire repaired. I want to thank Pop-A-Lock and above all Victor for the quick responce time, for the quick and friendly service getting my wife and grandson off the busy interstate in less then an hour from when she called roadside. After hours of googling how to pick a lock and attempting to do it with paperclips from Dollar Tree and a bobby pin I found on the floor and calling Home Depot to ask if they had a lock picking kit, I was referred to Pop-A-Lock. I called and they said they would be at my car within 30 minutes, after 1 hour I call them back and they said the technician had come and left already WITHOUT CALLING ME. They then told me the technician would come back, after 30 minutes of waiting I call back and they said the technician is not coming but he will come for an extra $15 return fee. I will continue to use Pop-A-Lock whenever the need arises. These guys are quick to arrive and quick to be done. Prices are fair and they're understanding when it comes to the blunders we, as humans, are bound to make from time to time. The first time I called, the lock to our front door decided to break. They sent someone out who suggested a few things but didn't have the equipment on hand so he called a coworker who showed up 10 minutes later. His coworker went around back to try our back door (we didn't have the key on us so we hadn't thought to) and we had left it unlocked by accident. He didn't charge us for his trouble, just a friendly good night. The second time I had acquired a new truck that locks itself when the car is running. This fact slipped my mind just days after I'd bought it and Pop-A-Lock came right out and opened her up lickity split. The bill wasn't bad and the embarrassment washed away quickly. We arrived in Savannah and discovered we had left the key to our bike lock at our last B&B so our inn keeper (at Olde Savannah Inn) called Pop-A-Lock for us. He arrived promptly within 45 minutes of our call and was very nice and helpful. He tried to cut the lock but it didn't work so he went to get a drill. While he was doing this, we managed to get the pin out ourselves. To our surprise, he said he wouldn't charge us and wished us a good trip. That is good service! read more

Their people take lunch breaks and walk their dogs while on the way to you with absolutely no care for you waiting in the hot sun. I'm not sure why i expected any better service this time. I ran out of gas this afternoon and used Geico Road Assistance. Within one minute I had a message letting me know that GEICO contracted Pop A Lock of Savannah. In another minute I received a message from your technician, Mike, with an attachment that contained a map showing his location in relation to mine, as well as a continuously updated ETA. Mike arrived within 20 minutes and had me on my way within minutes after that. He was extremely professional, courteous and I enjoyed talking to him for the few minutes that he was there. Malcom came dressed in basketball shorts with pockets hanging out, tshirt, and tennis shoes. Very unprofessional. Took almost 50 min to open my room door and had to do it by force so it left the edge of the door and frame with small dents and paint chips. This is a room I am renting so I only hope that I will not have to pay too much for damage by pop-a-lock. He was nice but seemed very lethargic. charged $57 flat rate I think because it was Sunday night around 9 PM. they quoted my roommate for $47 earlier in the week for 12 PM. We bought a home in Savannah and needed to have the house re-keyed. Most of the doors/locks we didn't have keys for and we didn't realize that most of the locks were very old and really not functioning. We had two new door knobs and two new deadbolts put on with everything keyed to match. Our locksmith was short one other new door knob so he came back without a trip charge to rekey the sixth lock. The number I called quoted one price, stating a service call of $29 and a lock-out charge of $25+, depending on difficulty of opening the lock. When the guy arrived on site, seeing the urgency of the truck needing to be unlocked, he trumped up the difficulty of opening the lock, stating all of the awkward moves, etc., he would have to do to open it up. He stated it would be over $100 to open it up due to the difficulty and had me sign the invoice before doing the work. Sixty seconds and no awkward moves later, the lock was opened. You never know who is going to be dispatched, but I won't use Pop-a-Lock again because of this less-than-up front experience. When I questioned him, the attitude was--'you signed the paper agreeing to the amount.' True, but under the condition that it was a difficult and time-consuming process to unlock the vehicle. read more

on 12/11/12 i lock my keys in my car while at wal-mart, i then called this company and gave the the address as to where my 4 month old & i were located. the time that i was given was 20-5 min. so that i wouldnt miss them i walked to my car to wait for someone and noone ever showed up, so i then go back into wal-mart to call again and the dispatcher says that the call was canceled due to no one being at the car and she also said that no-one answered wal-marts phone when they called back. my biggest issue with these assholes is one i had to wait for a little over an hour with my infant son and not only that the temp was dropping and it was starting to rain, but what gets me heated the most is to be called a liar that i was not at my car, but they never came. i rate this service an f for failure i will never use this sorry excuse company again!!!! read more
