By the time they replaced the key to my mailbox I had to have the mailbox repaired by them for a generous amount and it cost me more than it would've cost to buy an entire mailbox again. They admitted they really didn't know how to do mailbox keys and I even had the key blanks already. Talk about old school. If you have an old (or new lock) that needs a duplicate key this is the place to go. From a recent experience an older lock had trouble with duplicates made from modern equipment whereas the handcrafted result here worked perfectly. You would expect the opposite and this might even be true for modern locks but go here and get anything you need at a super fair price as well. read more

This place is key museum. There are keys everywhere. In the floor, on the shelves, nailed to a header, and even on the floor. I needed a specialty key and they were not able to cut it but they will very soon. The man inside is an old black man and the lady at the desk has been here for a really long time. She told me that they have been there for 134 years and they don't plan on going anywhere. The place has an old bell inside for what I have no idea. There's even a carousel donald duck that has to be as old as me. The place is really something to see. You should really go and get some keys made just to hang out and look around. read more

Wow, what amazon service!! Heard about these guys from an middle-aged Uber driver who had his ignition spoil on him at least 3 times. First of all, I called on a Monday and the younger Bradley came on a Tuesday (yes, 2nd generation, at least). He had the cheapest price (1/4 of the dealer and 70% of some others).He kept his promise without me needing to check where he was around the time expected. When I tried the ignition, it was smooth as butter (same words I used him when I texted him days later to say what an amazing job he had done). I can't help but laugh at the clueless yankees complaining about customer service at Bradley's. Here are a few tips from someone whose family has lived in Savannah since the 1700s. Bradley's is a Savannah institution. They have been in business for well over 100 years. They were there before you were, and they aren't in any way swayed by threats to take your business elsewhere. In fact if you are the sort of person who thinks that they can alter the behavior at Bradley's by saying such things, they would prefer that you leave. Those of us who are a part of Savannah know the Bradley's. We know stories about the family and about the shop. The real Savannah is a small town, it is simply being covered up by a bunch unwanted tourists, unwanted transplant residents, and a bunch of carpetbaggers intent on fleecing the tourists. The simple fact that we are a polite people seems to have confused many of you. Our good manners are not intended to convey that we want you to stay. We expect you to reciprocate by having the good manners to leave, and not to come back any time soon. But I digress... At Bradley's they wait on you in their own sweet time. (They're probably swamped with silly tourists wanting $1 key duplications) If you are in a hurry, you should have the good sense to schedule your trip to Bradley's when you are not in a hurry. If you are patient and polite they will solve pretty much any problem you could ever have regarding locks. When I was a kid I was sometimes sent on an errand to Bradley's from my father's place of business downtown (now another tourist trap). It was an intimidating but fascinating destination. While I preferred going to Photocraft, White's Hardware, or even Savannah Blueprint, I got used to the dour ladies at Bradley's and came to enjoy looking over many decades of collected locksmith junk. If you can't slow down to the pace of an earlier day, if you think you should be catered to, that you are important, that your needs are urgent, don't go to Bradley's. On the other hand, if you are a person who recognizes that one day you will leave this world, and none of this "important stuff" will matter, that you are just one of 100+ years worth of customers, and that they will eventually take care of your needs, then you should go there and enjoy the experience for what it is. Just remember, the stuff they tell you on the tours is frequently incorrect, often outright fiction. That what they have done to out downtown is a travesty which has displaced us from an important aspect of life in Savannah, and the only ones wishing you would move to Savannah are real estate agents and property developers. Also, please keep in mind that those cemeteries you think are some sort of attractive exhibit are the places where our loved ones are buried, and where we go to grieve, commune, and remember. Have some respect, please. We live here, and aren't members of the Disneyland staff, on display for your viewing pleasure. Take in the azaleas and the great food, listen to the tour patter with a very large grain of salt, and please, when you get back home, tell everyone you hated it and they should never go to Savannah, Enjoy your $1 souvenir key. read more

I called Bradley's last Friday afternoon for lock services. I was told the locksmith would call me Tuesday morning when he was on the way. This didn't happen. I waited until Wednesday afternoon and finally called Bradley's. I was told I would get a call back in a few minutes. It is now late Friday and still have not been called. So I just moved to the downtown area. And needed to get keys made for my knew apt and was told about this place from the outside it looked old which fits the savannah style but then I walked in and this rude women asked what I needed. I told her it needed 3 keys made and needed to make sure they were identifiable cause they all were for different doors. She was like ya ya ok didn't have a concern. Some man came and took the keys while we waited the women at the desk sat in her chair in a dress with her legs wide open!! With the meanest, rudest body language ever! So I go to pay her and hand her a debit card and she says oh we can't take that unless you spend over 10 dollars. I said there ain't no sign that says this she asks another women if we have a sign and she points to a sign smaller then a post it behind be unseen by the naked eye. The First Lady then makes a comment "I dunno I didn't put the sign up I was in the Bahamas!"with ignorance I said well I don't have cash on me so I guess I'll have to give them back or come right back she said just give them here if you don't have money! Very ignorantly! So I gave them back and said I'm going to need to see her dispose of the keys since they are to my house! She said we don't dispose of them we just keep them! I said no they need melted or thrown away some worker chimes in and says just throw them under a table somewhere who cares!! Mr Bradley comes over he's gotta be at least 80! The to women clearly seem to run him and what he does he tries to be nice to me and says I can just come back with the amount the women over talk him and say no no she ain't got no money!! Excuse me, I have plenty of money but live in the 21st century and carry little cash on me especially in a city and tourist area! I honestly feel bad for the older gentlemen because clearly these too women run his shit, and probably steal behind his back. I won't buy no key there completely rude and disrespectful.
