They started us off with bread and olive oil/balsamic vinegar - my fave was the breadstick. We ordered 2 appetizers: the antipasti of local specialties and the melted cheese. The antipasti of local specialties included cassava, avocado, surubí croquette, reviro, chipa guazu, and sopa paraguaya. This dish was so unique!! My fave was one of the corn pies (it was cheesy) and the croquette. This dish is quite heavy on the starch, so it is very filling. The melted cheese was spectacular. It was piping hot and savory, and I loved the hint of tomato taste. For my entree, I got the tropical surubí. The fish was mostly flaky and tender, and had some nice crispy parts. A few bites were too salty, but it was overall very enjoyable. My bf got the gnocchi with the shrimp sauce. It was solid. For dessert, I got the chocolate specialty dessert, which consisted of white chocolate mousse over a brownie. I didn't particularly enjoy it. The mousse didn't have the texture of mousse - it was too gelatin-like. The brownie also wasn't very fudgy or chocolatey. My bf got the passion fruit mousse, and he loved it. To end the evening, they gave us some limoncello. Overall, I really enjoyed the meal because of the uniqueness of the local dishes. Service was great. Price was also reasonable for the delicious meal

This is a charming restaurant that has an Italian country feel. I really liked the decor. It looks…read morelike they took their time to create a beautiful ambiance and really paid attention to the details. They have a number of large tables that can accommodate large groups. There were a number of families dining in along with smaller tables with couples. They have an extensive wine menu, and the food is mostly Italian with a variety of pizzas, meats, and salads. We were a group of 6 and ordered several pizzas, salad, and pasta along with 2 bottles of wine. I was not very hungry, so I only tried a piece of the filet mignon pizza. The pizza was extremely salty. The main reason was that the pieces of filet mignon were very salty and overly seasoned, in addition to the cheese. It just made it even more salty. Everyone else said their food was very good, so this filet mignon pizza was the exception. The service was friendly and attentive, and the prices were reasonable considering this is a tourist area.

We originally planned to go to Vo Bertila across the street. That restaurant was closed, but we are…read moreso happy we found Vo Luis instead! The food was all delicious, the atmosphere was amazing and so peaceful. The wait staff were all polite and friendly. Prices in general were really good for Foz do Iguaçu, and for Brazil generally. For Italian food of this quality in Brazil, this was a very competitive price. And the menu was very comprehensive, with lots of great options - so many things we wanted to try! There were plenty of vegetarian options and options for lactose-free and gluten-free diets, so something for everyone. We wound up eating at this restaurant twice during our stay in For do Iguaçu. They bring complementary bread to the table right when you sit down, which was delicious and something that isn't too common in Brazil. The first time we tried the calzone de frango. It is supposed to serve four, but it serves two very hungry people just as well, with space for dessert. The desserts are so delicious. The creme brûlée was heavenly. And the apple crumble was just the right balance of sweet and tangy, with perfect homemade ice cream on top. Our second night we ordered three entrees. The pumpkin tortellini (listed on menu as tortellini, but more resembled ravioli in my opinion) was savory and delightful, a mix of flavors that I hadn't seen before. The vegetable gnocchi was pretty good, with species and vegetables that tasted refreshing and not overly intense or rich. Not the best gnocchi I've had in Brazil, but certainly satisfying. The tortellini was a smaller dish, more of a light dinner. The gnocchi was larger, better if you have a bigger appetite. The third entree was a pizza with marguerite on half and frango com catupiry on the other half. The marguerite was lovely, but the frango com catupiry's taste was too strong. We would have preferred a whole pizza marguerite because it was a soft flavor, not too much, perfectly satisfying. The frango was too rich. Overall, we're very happy that we dined at this restaurant twice. If we were in town longer, we definitely would have gone again. If we lived in Foz, this would be a regular place for us to eat. We definitely recommend this restaurant. Whether you are here for a couple of days, or longer, it's worth stopping here for a nice dinner. You won't regret it.

Like everywhere else we ate in Argentina, La Rueda 1975 doesn't skimp on portions; they are extremely generous. They even started us off with a full basket of complimentary bread and butter, which was exactly what we needed after spending hours exploring the Iguazu National Park. The menu has tons of options, pasta, steaks, seafood, and more. I chose the beef ribs, which were big enough to share between two people. They were a little on the salty side, but still really tasty overall. The service was fantastic too, which made the whole experience even better.

Waited 2 hours for entrees - only showed up after asking for la quenta at service stand. Surprise, surprise 4 entress immediately served. 2 entrees came 10 minutes later. Three entrees were cold or look warm. One was rated delicious. Waiter came back and we were so tired and frankly pissed at this point. Restaurant asked to pay for our next bottle of wine, we asked just take off our first one--no way were we going to take any more time. Asked for bill...no one came. Table stood up and finally someone appeared. Waiter said kitchen had off night and so did you. Was that an excuse, a fact or an apology?
