The two main players channel Elton John and Billy Joel. The third player does Little Richard, Ray Charles, and Stevie Wonder. The singing is so on point that you couldn't be faulted if you thought they were the real thing. The music was enhanced by an additional piano player, who opened the show. He was in the back and added texture to the playing of the three men. The Elton John character changes a lot like Elton would do at times and the man who did the Motown artists changed his clothes to imitate Charles, Little Richard, and Stevie Wonder. The dark glasses for the two blind singers became a but much for me. The songs they play are very memorable to my generation but I noticed the audience was of all ages. Attendance was not all that good when I was there Friday and the audience was invited to come down and take the seats closer to the front which some people did. The group is from New York City and there engagement here was always advertised as a limited one of approximately one month. The character playing Billy Joel said they needed word of mouth to help the show remain in Las Vegas. If the group relocates to another casino or gets an extension at the Flamingo, go and see it. You will enjoy the show!

Here is the bad news, but the show was soooooo good it still gets 5 stars: Caesars needs to get it together. The box office staff was nice but overwhelmed. This led to people trickling in through the first five songs. That was disruptive. The wait for drinks was excruciating. There was zero sense of urgency on the bartender's part. He moved at a snail's pace. You could just tell he didn't care. They should have had someone help out before the start of the show. This also disrupted the first portion of the show. I've seen them a few times in Vancouver, however, it was interesting to see them in the US cause the punchlines were in different spots. It was also a good way to cleanse the mind from all the country music and cowboys that are invading Vegas for the Rodeo championship. The entire day at every hotel I've been hearing nothing but country music which I hate. The show started at 11:30 pm which in Vancouver would've been unacceptable by my standards, however, since we were in party mode in Vegas (after a few energy drinks) I was all game. Not having to worry about transit getting home allowed me to relax and enjoy the Vegas show more. I've been to the House Of Blues metal venue before. It's very tight and narrow, therefore, for sold out shows you're very elbow to elbow with other fellow metal heads. When you're in this much of tight quarters everyone ends up talking to each other and joining in on random conversations, something that doesn't happen in antisocial Vancouver. It was just nice to do some pre show socializing. They place may be narrow but it's very logically constructed that no matter where you are you'll get a good view. I bought Peter a ticket for Christmas since it was very cheap even with the exchange rate (ironically cheaper than seeing Steel Panther in Vancouver). Having very little knowledge and interest in the original 80's hair metal culture, some of the parodies went over his head. He treated it as a comedy show and he did admit later to enjoying himself. Myself I treated the band as if they were they real thing which added to some of the humor. The pre show cheese of the speakers blaring KISS's worse songs set the mood for those unfamiliar with the band's shtick. They have a casual residency at the House of Blues, therefore, each 90 minute show is completely different in terms of their own material and covers. The balance between banter and songs varies between nights. This show had a high ratio of banter compared to the Vancouver shows simply cause they were able to be more raunchier and taboo at their own residency. Lead vocalist Michael Starr is actually a very good vocalist, ironically in better shape than some of the real bands. I respect that everyone takes this seriously as a theatre production. Even though the show started and ended late I did have a second wind as soon as the band hit the stage. Once I got dancing I forgot my sleep struggles during the week.

Hector MC'd the reception and Mark was DJing the music (which I'm telling you, makes a difference, because they were in sync and therefore everything flowed much better rather than one person juggling everything at once) Because I did the wedding planning myself, Mark was kind enough to help me build my timeline and map out the reception space based on his suggestions. This took a ton of weight off my shoulders as far as planning went. Hector's smile/energy as an MC is also pretty contagious. He has a presence at the event when he makes announcements and prompts things to keep moving. He also checked on me and my partner throughout the night to help keep us up to speed. And let me tell you this: Mark and Hector were able to keep people (young and old) dancing throughout the night. They have a great "feel" for vibes and adapt to what's going on. PICTURES DON'T LIE. There is no way I could get pictures of my wedding guests having this much fun unless music was on point!
