THANK YOU Will for an AMAZING wedding day at Malibu Rocky Oaks! All my guests still cannot stop talking about how awesome you were. They said, "Your wedding was great and all, BUT YOUR DJ made the day!!!" Will is multi-talented: he's a DJ, MC, and dancer/choreographer! Will got Asian people dancing! When we ended the party, people were still asking for more. He helped choreograph our bridal party entrance to the song "Uptown Funk", and the bridal party had a blast. At one point during the night, Will even went out and danced with everyone. He had so much energy and went with the flow. He's cool, fun, handsome, and an all around great guy. My sister said "My husband and I just want to buy him dinner and sit and talk to him because he's so cool." Malibu Rocky Oaks is one of the most challenging venue in Los Angeles. He went to a site visit with us to plan out the day, and he really helped us with the flow of the wedding. My husband's brother/best man said, "The wedding day was so hard, but when I looked at Will, he was so calm that I knew everything would be ok. I want to hire him for my wedding!" I met Will at a bridal convention, and I knew right away we had to hire him. I do very thorough research on all my vendors, and after researching over 10 different DJs in the Los Angeles area, I had to hire Will because I knew he would be able to execute an amazing event. We hired DJ Will Gill back in early 2020 after meeting him at his booth for a wedding convention. We interviewed plenty of DJs and everyone was great, but Will stuck out from the rest with his high energy and charisma. We had to postpone our wedding a couple of times due to COVID and each time he was very understanding and helpful in rescheduling. We were able to choose the exact options we were looking for from his wide and customizable package catalog, and he was able to accommodate the audio set up for the 3 different areas - ceremony, cocktail, and reception - that we had. In preparation for our wedding, he provided a shared spreadsheet that we could list specific song choices or playlist for each of the reception moments (cocktail hour, dinner, entrance, dance moments, etc.) and any notes to cover in our meeting with him about one month before the wedding day. During the meeting, we went over the song choices, pronunciations of names, and the timeline breakdown of the event so that everything would run as smoothly as possible. Will also worked directly with our coordinator in going over the timeline as well. On the wedding day, he was a one man production that kept all of the guests entertained, hyped up, and active on the dance floor. Will was on top of everything, sticking perfectly to the timeline, hitting every unique cue that we discussed during our meeting, and was very energetic and professional during each MC announcement and transition to the next moment. Then when it came to the dance floor, Will killed it! Our biggest pet peeves are when DJs don't read the room so they let songs play too long or don't transition well into the next hit. No problem at all for Will! He was always on top of every song, reading everyone's reactions and whether the song was hitting or not, and making the right transition to the next song when the moment called for it. He also kept note of exactly who was on the dance floor, playing the current club and retro hits for the younger crowd, while also catering to the older guests with line dances and oldies whenever they took over the majority. The dance floor was never empty throughout the night and many of our guests complimented the song selection throughout the night and after the party. He was also extremely patient in walking us through the process - we were pretty clueless and scrambled right up to the day.
