Bespoke chocolate shop - I love it!…read more I first heard of Charbonnel et Walker as my parents LOVE their hot chocolate powder! I remember seeing them being given it every Christmas as I grew up. Well, now I'm grown up, I wanted some nice chocolates to go with the champagne glasses I got my friend for her birthday. I was in luck! The shop in Canary Warf is tiny, but well laid out. As well as the window and wall displays there is a central table display which allows you to walk around it and helps guide customers in the small space. The smell of delicious chocolate hits you as walk in and gets your mouth watering! The displays are sort of colour co-ordinated, with each colour corresponding to a flavour or type of chocolate. I homed in on the pink section in the window - the champagne section! I also noticed that they were selling little heart shaped boxes of chocolates on offer - 3 for £6. I picked up 3 of those: dusted strawberry truffles, mint truffles and caramel truffles. The heart shaped boxes are also available empty to fill with truffles of your choice. I got a pink one and bought 3 champagne truffles to go in it for my friend. The young man serving me was lovely - he first asked if I needed help finding anything, and then offered me a chocolate to taste. It was heavenly, but so rich! When I selected the chocolates for my friend he advised me as to which would fit best into the shape of the box. We had a pleasant chat as my card transaction went through and politely wished me a good day as I left. The chocolates taste amazing - very dark and rich, but if you love chocolate, you'll love these. They are a bit on the pricey side (which is why it's only 4 stars - Hotel Chocolat have comparable chocolate in my view just a little less expensive), the single heart shaped box with 3 truffles was around £4, but the other boxes were definitely a bargain! The service was impeccable and made the experience that bit better. I would totally recommend this place!

Smoking a cigarette and reading the card posted to the door an old man exited and insisted quite quietly that I pop inside for a sample. I smiled politely and thanked him for his endorsement. I was already intrigued. Electrician? Boutique olive oil? Surely this is the stuff of good London city stories! Made short, the experience was wholly gratifying. The proprietor - inheritor and rejevenator of family plots in Cypress and in Turkey - enthusiastically took me through his history, his growing region, his products, and at my urging his distribution model (I'm something of a nerd), all in under ten minutes. I tasted oil from his Cypriot groves and from his Turkish groves (Cypriot - astonishingly light; Turkish - spicy aftertaste), as well as some of his olives. Though my pockets were empty at the time I will be returning as soon as possible to stock up on his goods and share them with my family and friends. This is exactly what local businesses are brilliant for.

It is a bit like having Chinese truffles or Sicilian Parmesan. It doesn't have the pepper bite that I like from a truly exceptional Tuscan/ Umbrian olive oil (aren't I precious). Still at £8 for a litre of very good (but not Tuscan) olive oil you are pretty happy and you get a nice middle class "discovery" back story to entrance your friends with. Price - £8.00 for a litre

Hooray Monica R - we agree on the spelling! Well, you can imagine this shop right at the end of the Willy Wonka factory tour. Rows upon rows of clear jars containing old style sweets. The assistants are happy to advise and offer little tastings. Your choice of goodies are packaged in retro style paper bags to take away and share. Whether you're looking for some nostalgia about the sweets you grew up with or to discover some new taste sensation, Mrs Kibble's is definitely worth a visit.

I noticed the Sweet Shoppe stocks candy from many countries including a huge section from the United States, and even some sugar skulls my companion though to only be sold in Norway! The staff here are generally very knowledgeable and chatty: one spoke to me for a while about the band featured on my t-shirt. The only bad point is that you can spend more of your pennies than you expected here sometimes, but it is generally a great place to be and a diamond in Kingston.

Amazing. And I don't even usually drink fizzy drinks (unless there are spirits involved). My love was cemented last week when I was having one of those days and stopped by for an afternoon sugar hit - only to find I didn't have any cash on me. Disaster. 'Pay me another time' the till assistant said, with a knowing smile that told me she was well aware of how often my sugar cravings led me to stop by and knew that I'd be back. She was right. It's well stocked with what you'd expect - all of the sweets (inc freddo bars!), papers and mags, ice creams in summer, cold drinks, tobacco and even some greetings cards - and run by lovely people too :) I'll go back. Probably in about 5mins in fact.

I was a bit disappointed that the passion fruit was some sort of frozen, blocked material; otherwise, the pears and bananas were fresh and the drink tasted excellent. I missed out on a shot of wheatgrass which Total Organics seems to be known for. The juices sell for either 3 or 4 pounds while a shot of wheat grass is 2.
