Terrible experience with "The Manager" on 12/14/24. I drove to the Chamblee location on Saturday, (it was a 30 minute drive), whenever I arrived to the location the doo was locked and the store was not opened. I called the location to explain that I was onsite, and to see if it was possible to place an order for the next available day. The lady that answered the phone WAS not helpful and told me, she was "the manager" . The experience was not pleasant and I believe there is opportunity for "The Manager" to improve on her customer service skills. read more

This place is pretty much any popcorn lovers dream. They have a wide variety of savory and sweet popcorn flavors to choose from. My focus has primarily been on the sweet flavors (I'll get around to the savory side eventually) and they have several of them (Blueberry muffin, red velvet, strawberry dream, strawberry cheesecake, white chocolate pretzel, birthday cake, frosted caramel sea salt, key lime - you get the picture!). The nice thing is they let you sample whichever flavors you'd like. I definitely took advantage of this as many of them sounded so good. The first time I went I ended up getting a junior bag of their white chocolate pretzel. I'd get this again without question. I really liked the addition of the pretzel. However, since it had white chocolate in it and the shop was a little warm, the chocolate got a little melty. I ended up putting my bag in the fridge to let the chocolate harden, and I found it didn't mess with the popcorn texture. Since the first trip I've also had their birthday cake and strawberry dream. Birthday cake was delicious. I wanted to get it the first time, but they only had enough for a sample (such a tease). The strawberry dream was really good (think strawberry shortcake). They have different prices for their popcorn depending on what's in them ranging from plain to platinum. Butter and plain is the cheapest. Any popcorn with chocolate in it is going to be platinum so you'll pay the most for those (a junior bag, which is the smallest size, will cost $4.50). They pack the bags pretty full though. This would make a great gift for the popcorn lover in your life. They're technically only open on Saturdays from 12-6 but the girl behind the counter told me you can come on other days you would just need to call and schedule. Either way you'll need to plan ahead if you want to make the trip. read more

I wanted to visit this place when they were at Peachtree Corners but they moved and finally today I decided to make a stop. The guy working stated they mainly do wholesale orders and Saturdays are mainly for smaller orders and walk-ins. What was so awesome is he let me sample any popcorn I asked for. He was super nice and I'm glad he let me try most flavors lol! I decided on the jalapeño white cheddar and the white chocolate pretzel which is sooooo good. I LOVE popcorn. It ranks at the top for all time favorite snacks for me. I wanted to try something new and I pass Popcorn Palooza at least one time a week, and thanks to Yelp I learned that they are only open on Saturdays from noon-6pm. I stopped by and the place was cute and clean. The cashier was friendly and had great customer service skills. She explained how things worked when I confirmed that it was my first time at the shop. The popcorns are from about 3 different price tiers and there are 4 different size bags that are priced based on the tier of the popcorn. They will allow you to have a sample of as many of the different popcorn flavors as you would like. My and my son probably tasted about 75% of the store before we decided on about 4 bags, and he let me do a mixed bag of 2 different flavors from the same tier....perfect!! read more

Stopped by here while waiting for our dog to be done at her vet appointment and grabbed three small bags that came to $15 (which is too much for popcorn in my opinion). Each small bag had approximately two large handfuls of popcorn in them. The kid working behind the counter was friendly and pretty knowledgeable about which were their best sellers. We ended up with: Chicago mix (cheese & caramel) that was disappointingly greasy. I've had this style of popcorn in Chicago, and it was never THAT greasy. Flavor was good, but I just can't get past the grease. Captain Crunch... SO sweet, but for some reason childishly comforting. Salted Caramel... their best seller. Again, weirdly greasy/buttery feeling, but super addictive. It made for a good dessert while watching a movie at home. Prices need to come down or portions need to go up. read more

This place was amazing. The owner let us try as many flavors as we wanted. He was very personable and explained the ordering process as soon as we walked in. We settled on the red velvet, strawberry cheesecake, hotlanta con limon, chicago style, caramel and dill pickle. This is such a great place! The popcorn is amazing and the owners are just as amazing as their product! First of all they are always cheery and they let you try any popcorn that you might want to purchase. This way you'll know if you like the flavor before you buy a bag. They have four bag sizes for you to choose from and a great variety of sweet as well as savory flavors! I tried the popcorn when they were set up at the Galleria Convention Center. My husband tried the Oreo cookie popcorn and couldn't stop talking about it for days. Extremely overwhelming.. in a good way. Enormous amounts of options. Place advertises over 100 flavors a day, I visually estimated maybe 50? Who needs more than 50 flavors of popcorn anyway, right? I tried many, but decided on a Sea Salt Caramel & Cheese mix. Though quite delish, if you want a mix, probably better off buying two separate bags and mixing yourself. Because Sea Salt Caramel costs more, they charged me that price for the mixed bag. The Sea Salt Caramel was the best I've had (in this flavor) thus far. Though it is sort of 'wet', ...so messy. The Cheese, a very good tasting basic flavor. Also note: It took me 3 days to finish a small bag and it still remained fresh tasting throughout. Popcorn is great but service was rude. Their "deal" is no deal at all. Buy 2 smalls and get a free junior. The catch is they have to be from the same category. I wanted a platinum and a silver as my two small choices. I figured my free junior would need to be a silver choice, which was fine. I was denied my free junior because I did not keep my smalls in the same category. How does that make sense? I paid more for the platinum flavor. Guy behind counter was condescending about the entire thing. May not be a returning customer even though my daughter tells me I am overreacting. read more

I have visited the store on several occasions and always been pleasantly surprised. The staff is friendly and professional. They really seem to enjoy what they do and their creativity shows in the popcorn. Oreo, Salted Caramel, M&M's, and even the Hot Mess (no joke, this stuff is hot!) is fresh and innovative. The popcorn is just that good. Living in Chicago for many years I can say that Garrett's is good. This is better and they have over 50 flavors at any given time. We took some donations to Goodwill and decided to check out Popcorn Palooza when we noticed it had opened next door. We got to sample several different flavors, which was really helpful in making our decision. The young woman who assisted us was sweet and friendly and made the experience that much better. I'm from Chicago so if you love popcorn and you live in Chicago, you eat Garrett's. But I was recently in the Atlanta area and came across Popcorn Palooza! The name alone would have gotten me to stop in but I was craving popcorn!! To my surprise, Popcorn Palooza was as good as Garrett's and I'll go one step further and say it was BETTER!!! The owners and staff were so nice and happily provide samples of any flavors you'd like to try. Their variety of flavors, and unique combinations, are very fresh and not at all artificial tasting like other places.
