This was my first time at Mad Hatters on 8/9/26. The shop has over 350 popcorn flavors, slushies, ice cream, and many other treats. The shop is clean, stocked well and the staff is really friendly. I ordered the Caramel popcorn with pecans. But I should've went with my instinct and ordered the cheese popcorn. I didn't really like the pecans in the popcorn, but the caramel popcorn was delicious. My husband really chose the flavor, and he ordered large. Sheesh! lol! The grape slushy was delicious and my husband had apple. It was too tangy for me. My sister and I spent more than an hour in this tasty, fun, smell-good spot. First of all, the three workers behind the counter were delightful and had so many recommendations based on our personal preferences. So, we tasted several popcorn flavors before settling on the strawberry cheesecake, caramel sea salt, unicorn and hot wing flavors. We purchased for four different family members and every one loved their selected flavor. My absolute favorite part though, since I grew up on Pixie Stix, was the pixie stix make-your-own station. Yesss! Sour apple, sour orange, rainbow, and at least ten more flavors that could easily be mixed into one 8-foot, 12-foot or super longgggg pixie stix! Run don't walk!!!! If you love popcorn and want to get away from the ordinary regular butter, kettle corn or cheese popcorn. The amazing thing is you can try flavors to see what you like. The bad thing is all the flavors are amazing so you will probably like them all!!! I tried the lemon pepper wings popcorn, crab legs popcorn, strawberry cheesecake popcorn, captain crunch popcorn and a caramel nut popcorn. I ended up buying the strawberry cheesecake popcorn and a "Chicago mix" with cheese and caramel. Heads up though, they said they are usually busy on the weekends and flavors sell out! I went on a Wednesday and the key lime was sold out, so I have to come back real soon! The staff was super nice which was amazing because I was having a really long day. I should have tasted the popcorn before I ordered it. I got a small extra butter and it was so salty I had to throw it away. Highly disappointed. I got home put on a movie and went to eat the popcorn and all you could taste was salt. I hsludl have called back but they are in McDonough and I live in Decatur so not a quick trip. This was an awesome place. So many flavors to choose from. Each person gets to sample 3, which still makes it hard because there are SO many choices. My favorite was strawberry cheesecake and my husband liked crab legs. Great experience!!! I'm sure they have good popcorn. Just figured I would keep everyone informed. My daughter purchased a $20 gift card for Christmas for me. The company changed ownership in January. I had forgotten about the gift card until I found it this weekend. I stopped by and initially I figured they would honor the gift card. The nice lady behind the counter called the owner he stated the only way he would honor the gift card was if I would buy an additional $40 worth of popcorn. Well I don't need $60 worth of popcorn. This place has a ton of different flavors of popcorn. The prices are reasonable and you can buy in 6 different sizes: mini, junior, small, medium, large, extra large. They have candy flavors, cheese flavors, gourmet flavors, etc. Looking for a flavor? They most likely have it. They even have a salt and vinegar popcorn that my friend loves getting. I always get the Hot White Cheddar for my father. The hot white cheddar is the spiciest popcorn you can get. It's fun to let someone know its spicy but then seeing their face when they realize how spicy it is. They allow you to try the popcorn before you make a decision. Sometimes I see specials they have on pre-packaged popcorn. The staff is friendly had don't seem to mind when you want to try more than one flavor- even if the container is on a higher shelf. I went into the store on 4/15/2017 around 4pm. There were 2 employees working and one small group ahead of me. The people in front of me had the full attention of both employees, and they never even acknowledged that I was there. They did not greet me nor ask if they could get me anything, I stood there behind the other customer for well over 8 minutes with not one employee acknowledging that I was even there. It doesn't matter if you have a good product if you have no customer service. As I walked out they showed no concern because quite frankly you could tell they could care less. We literally go here about once a week. My entire family is obsessed with the kettle corn here. The other flavored popcorns are pretty good but there is nothing quite like the simplicity of sweet and salty kettle corn. I go here so often that as soon as I walk in the girls know exactly what I want. All of the girls that work here are young but they are all super sweet. I had an issue with my popcorn once last year and I had to go to Florida so I couldn't go back in right away and once I called the owner replaced it for me with no issue. The owners (husband and wife) are both very nice and if you have an issue they will fix it. I recommend anyone come here. A few tips for new visitors: you can only try 3 flavors per person. Sometimes it gets extremely busy, patience is key, if there are 5 people trying 3 different flavors in front of you it'll be a minute before you get popcorn. Kettle corn kettle corn kettle corn. Lol. Generally the fuller the bin the fresher the popcorn because none of these flavors stay on the shelves for a long time so chances are if the bin is full he recently made it.
