Absolutely the worst. Just ate there 10 minutes ago. Went through the drive-through. They only had one side choice available, red beans and rice. The chicken wasn't even cooked all the way. It took them forever to take the orders of the cars in front of us. WELL, I waited 5 minutes for the group of 4 infront of me to get waited on. then I stood at the counter for several minutes before being waited on. Ate here today 2/3/19 With my wife and daughter, it cost us almost $30 for 2 chicken tender meals and fries. We were only given 2 ketchup packets for the 3 of us but did get 2 other sauces each. No music entertainment, very quiet you can hear other peoples conversations. Parking is very small. Floor still had crumbs and dirt from other customers. The seating was uncomfortable, 2min after i sat down i wanted to leave. I have had better experiences at McDonald next door. The chicken was bland and not fully cooked. The fries were ok. On August 21,2020, my mother purchased food at around 4:55pm. It was order number 5. It was around 15 dollars for a chicken sandwich, a drink, fries, and the fish dinner with potatoes. When we ate the meal, the food was old and not crunchy at all. This is typical usually for fast food but since it was pretty much the whole meal, I opted to go back to the Hermitage Pa Popeyes that my mom purchased the food and I brought back the food that was ordered. This was done around 5:50 p.m. (I am not counting this part in the review or else this review would be one star.) When I told the younger girl that my mom said the food was old and I thought it was old and asked for an exchange, she sort of laughed and said we don't do that here. She ended up saying pull up to the window. I did and went to explain to her the situation and she said hold on and walked away. It was such horrible customer service but I am sure the younger girl doesn't care much about her job due to the amount of money she gets and it was her own rude personality regardless. The manager came to the window and apologized on behalf of her and personally made the food fresh for me. She let me know it will be about 6 minutes and to wait by the double doors in the front. I did and she again apologized and I was understanding and I felt bad even having to go back in the first place. I know they could have thought I was trying to get free food and I probably do this all the time but I genuinely was just wanting to see if I could and I threw the original food away since they did not accept it back. The food was absolutely fresh and it was one of the best popeyes meals my mom and I enjoyed. As always, loved the chicken sandwich. I just wanted to commemorate what I suppose was the shift manager/supervisor/ or regular manager? She was probably in her mid 20s, around the same age as I. Ordered a 10 piece chicken dinner. Got it home and found the chicken was completely dried and jerky-like. The spicy breading had no flavor. When I cut into a chicken thigh, I thought I was on the set of Christmas Vacation where Clark Griswold cut into the dried-out turkey. From looking at the outside of the thigh, it looked normal. However upon breaking into it, the inside was empty except for a little piece of meat that was completely dried up. To make matters worse, I felt sick a all night from the chicken - probably food poisoning. Reported this to corporate and nothing. I would have expected a refund. Bottom line, stay away. read more

I ordered mashed potatoes and gravy and got Mac and cheese so that was a let down but other than that the food was good and the service was friendly. Drink was slightly warm. There was over 15 employees and well staffed on a Saturday night. Food was hot and fresh. Clean dining area even though we didn't eat in. Cashier knew the menu well. Order was accurate. Do not go there, it's absolutely disgusting. We went right when they opened and the trash cans inside and the one outside were all full with trash from the night before and had flies all over. Food was great, but they don't seem to know how to get an order right. At the drive-thru, I ordered an 8pc. Nuggets with blackened ranch sauce, 2 large red beans and rice, and a large Diet Coke. You have seen the advertisements for Popeyes' Louisiana Kitchen. You know the one "Love that chicken from Popeye's." Here in Mercer county PA we have never had a Popeye's so when I heard there was one in Hermitage my family and I felt the need to try the restaurant out to see if we would love the chicken from Popeye's. Regretfully that was not the case. The date of my visit was Wednesday, February 6th at 3:30 PM. My order was a 12-piece box, mashed potatoes with gravy, and red beans with rice. I also ordered a four of the Apple Pies (more like apple empanadas if you ask me) for desert. Starting with the food the chicken was dry and season-less. It was never marinated for twelve-hours in Louisiana spices (just what are Louisiana spices anyway), let alone salt water. The chicken was only battered once in a dry batter process. Having worked in restaurants and I can tell you that the process involved. The chicken gets placed into a bin with a liquid solution or a wet batter, then coated with the dry batter, then it gets placed into a wet batter again, then it is coated again in the dry batter to ensure that the chicken is well coated and will be properly sealed when the chicken is fried keeping the juices inside the fried chicken. It seems like a step was missed by the cook at this shop. On top of that the thighs and breasts were cut odd like the thighs were cut in half like the boneless wings were cut from them, and it felt like the chicken breasts had the boneless white meat chicken strips cut from them meaning that we didn't get full chicken breasts or thighs in the box which would have affected the cook time which knowing shops like this is computerized and automated hence leading to overcooked dry chicken. The mashed potatoes were fine for what I expect are premade frozen mashed potatoes, as was the gravy. The only problem is that we got a two-cup container of potatoes with about one-table spoon of gravy and the gravy was in the container with the potatoes. The gravy is the cheaper component of a mashed potatoes and gravy side dish, and to not include a reasonable amount in a separate container ruins the dish. The buttermilk biscuits did not seem to rise, and were dense, dry and crumbly, salty, greasy, and not buttery at all. They are the worst fast food biscuits I have ever eaten (it's just kind of ironic that the best biscuits I have eaten from a fast food restaurant come from McDonald's, like the one next door). It's even more ironic because on the store on the wall there are messages about the buttery and fluffy buttermilk biscuits. The highlight of the meal were the red beans and rice. The seasonings were perfect, and the red beans were enjoyable. The only problem is that for all the red beans in the two-cup container there was only a few tablespoons of rice in the container. Like the gravy on mashed potatoes, the rice is the cheapest component of the side dish, and to not including a reasonable amount ruins the dish. Then there was the Apple Pie. There really wasn't much Apple in the filling, the crust was tough, and salty, and the cinnamon and sugar coating really didn't improve things much. As for the restaurant the table I sat at while I waited for my chicken (the wait time was not a problem) was sticky and was wet in some spots. Other tables had napkins and straw wrappers on them. The parking lot was another problem. There was trash laying around next to the end parking spot. Pop bottles, cups, boxes and chicken bones from the restaurant. I am sure that a bunch of kids threw the trash into the piled-up snow drift, but when it thawed no one from the restaurant cleaned it up. Now any one of these problems and I would have just ignored it and moved on with my day not bothering to write something like this, but when the highlight of the experience was side dish with a flawed execution (i.e. the red beans and rice) and the bill for the family meal being around $30.00 it's a bit disappointing. Add into that the mess in the store and the parking lot, and the food was riddled with problems the experience was horrible. If you are looking for a good chicken dinner then skip this restaurant (for fast food chicken KFC is just down the road, for good rotisserie chicken and sides try D'Onofrio's food mart, again just down the road, or Giant Eagle on E. State Street). If you are a representative of Popeyes you really need do some secret shopper visits to root out the problems in your Hermitage store. read more

My first order from the Popeye's located in Hermitage, PA was earlier this year and had to wait for my order for about 30 minutes. It was for 20 pieces of spicy chicken which once home I found it was not spicy but regular. I checked my receipt and it indicated spicy. With company coming I was not able to return it and wait another half an hour. Many months went by and I went to the same Popeye's for another 20 pieces of spicy chicken. I advised the cashier of what had happened and asked if she would advise the manager so this would not occur again. Again I was forced to wait an half an hour for my order. In the mean time seeing the cashier did not advise anyone of what I told her I attempted to speak with a manager. A male behind the counter appeared to be a lead employee and I made several attempts to get his attention. When I finally did he was extremely rude and condescending and totally had no idea on how to speak with a customer. I ask him if he was the manager and he was not and I was advised the manager was not in the store. There were only four employee's in the store and it was evident that the store was rudderless and lacked experience.
