We were told 5 minutes for our order and to park on the side for our order(2 chicken sandwiches and box onion rings). 20+ minutes later they bring our order out and that is what we got. Buns drenched in cooking oil and onion rings that were cold and didn't look good to eat at all. The chicken coating was sliding off the chicken, that's how oily and poorly the chicken was made. IF YOU WANT TO EAT POPEYES, DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. The entire staff needs to be fired, the only cashier working the afternoon shift is incredibly disrespectful and does not care about anything. He is so incredibly rude, I've never eaten at Popeyes before, and after this time, I think I never want to eat there again. I didn't even have yelp, but service was so terrible I downloaded this app just to leave this review. I got there at 6 and left at 7. The managers were ticked off, everybody was stressed out, yelling in the kitchen, and there was not a single person that was in the restaurant that had their food yet. This Popeyes on Del Mar have the worse customer service. They are so slow , you repeat your order 3 times and still the order comes out wrong. They need a better manager & better training . They should train same place Chick Fil A train at so they learn manners, and how to be faster & more efficient. Don't go there you'll regret it! read more

The food is good. The staff members are nice, but they seem like they like training on how to deal with customers and their menu. So disappointed. This is our second time here and while the first time was pretty good, this second time wasn't. Too many people in the kitchen yet nothing was getting done. The line of people waiting on their food was ridiculous. Tables were dirty and no napkins in sight to wipe them down. The drink station was a mess and the trash cans were overflowing. Well. What do we have here. The new chicken sandwich from Popeyes. Can I just start off by saying that it's better than Chick Fil A's. By a mile. If we're talking about a straight up chicken sandwich with pickles and mayonnaise, then it's far superior. The piece of chicken used was bigger and cooked to perfection with that Popeyes breading. The pickles used were the thicker cut, kosher type dill used in sandwiches of higher distinction. The combo itself is gonna be at the same price range as Chick Fil A. 7 and some change for the sandwich, fries and a drink. Granted, you won't get the same in and out time that you would at CFA. That being said, CFA is all about the chicken sandwich and they have been for the past couple decades. Popeyes hasn't been about it and they've managed to blow the CFA sandwich out of the water. The staff was very friendly and they called every customer by their name. In a day and age where CFA is the "standard" in customer service, this Popeyes has surpassed any expectations I had for lunch today. Thank you to Edna P. for making my first chicken sandwich experience at Popeyes the best. Really, a round of applause to the whole staff at Popeye's. They've gone above and beyond. read more

The worst drive thru service I have ever had in my life. After waiting in line for about 15 minutes it was finally my turn at the speaker to give my order. The cashier said to hold on be with you in a moment. She never came back to continue . I waited like a fool for 10 minutes looking at the speaker till I realized that this was not right. I drove up to the window and there was a car still getting his order. The cashier should have asked him to park since it was a large order and that it would be take to him. Finally he left and by that time I was so mad I didn't want to eat there. I honked at the window to give my complaint only to be ignored. When a manager came finally he acted all indifferent like yea whatever. He almost forgot to say sorry for the inconvenience. I wasted 45 minutes and didn't get food. I don't recommend this restaurant to anyone . Inside its hot w the bad AC and outside the drive thru has terrible service . Well, I was craving there new boneless wings with cajun fries and a biscuit and I will admit, they were pretty damn good. With some buffalo or ranch sauce they are amazing. I was told when you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all. This breaks the rule. I think the health department needs to pay this place a visit. The cook in the back was eating, drinking his coke and licking his fingers. The place was not very clean.
