COUPON CRAZY Whether it's digital or paper, good deals can be found if you know where to look. Popeyes are fairly commonplace around the Chicago area. Some are horribly slow while others have a tendency to butcher orders, and yet I'll still come back because their chicken sandwich is so damn good. This location is on Harlem Ave in Summit, about 1/2 mile south of Archer. Lunch at full price is nearly $15, so I was happy to use a coupon I clipped in the mail. In this case, it trimmed my total from $13.24 down to $7.73! Basically got me a combo meal at half price. I like the mashed potatoes w/Cajun gravy, and their mac 'n' cheese is plastic but it's the kind of plastic I like. My first visit here, I used their app and redeemed a strawberry crème pie with my points. Lo and behold, they were out of pies for which the manager apologized (although my Popeyes points were lost). On a following visit, they gave me regular tenders even though I asked for spicy. Again, not a huge deal but not great either. * TL;DR * A well-placed coupon can work wonders, you just gotta be vigilant. They've been uncharacteristically friendly at this location and that alone makes me want to give them 4*, but being out of pies (visit #1) and getting my order wrong (visit #3) isn't indicative of a four-star place. If I could give this place -0 stars I would the way they are so ignorant and unprofessional is the first red flag then when I'm paying the lady walks away with my card then I ask her for my sauces for my tenders she proceeds to lie and say " yea I put it in the bag don't worry " then we receive the food about 30 minutes after ordering which is insane!!! The young lady at the drive thru was kind. The food order was incorrect; I ordered a five piece and three piece tender both regular. Instead I got a three piece breast, wing and leg and a three piece spicy tender. My son can't eat spicy. The food wasn't hot or fresh. The fries were crispy, but weren't hot at all. The Popeye's chicken on Harlem & 57th has a huge sign stating "try our new chicken sandwiches" after you wait 15 minutes in the drive through line you pull up to the window to see a tapped flyer that says we are out of chicken sandwiches. Worst experience today went through the non busy drive through. Only one car ahead of me and no one in the lobby so why did it take over 20 mins to get absolutely nothing I don't know but not only did I wait 15 mins but even after that I walked in to see what's taking them so long only to see that my food was still not ready. 5708 South Harlem Ave. Store# 12609 Summit , Illinois 60501 Between the hours of 7-7:30 on January 15, 2020, witnessed in plain site one of the employees braiding another employee's hair in the dining area. Both workers shortly after went back to preparing food without washing hands and didn't bother to wear gloves. I witnessed them touch several surfaces without so much as a squirt of hand sanitizer. Everyone is this was extremely unsanitary and showed regard for the fact that we are still in the mist of a pandemic. I ordered online after several attempts to have door dash pick-up my order, but when I went in they said that there was a 5-7 minute wait on tenders. So after waiting nearly 35 mins and witnessing the staffs uncleanliness and lack of basic restaurant servicing skills I decided to walk out and one of the employees who was in the mist of a heated argument between two other employees asked me not to leave.
