2nd time trying: 1st time - pretty good! Cooked perfectly, friendly driver, quick delivery time. 2nd time: not that good of experience: crust very soggy! My bag with appetizers was placed on top of my pizza and the bag was literally stuck to the cheese! and All my ingredients from the one side slid to the other side. Had to use a spatula to try to put back. Very disappointed because the one side I just had sausage on now had all the other ingredients as well! Cheesy garlic bread was very hard to bite into. Different driver - not very friendly (seems like someone had a similar experience with the older guy gray hair) Not sure if we will try again anytime soon! Recently started getting Obbies again and it did not disappoint! Their jumbo build your own pizza with pepperoni, mushrooms, and onions was honestly a 10/10! Tried their shrimp to try something new and it was easily some of the best fried shrimp I've had with what seems like their homemade cocktail sauce which put it over the top! Their delivery drivers are always kind and come within the delivery wait time you are given. I have been inside before and it is small so be prepared to take it to go. Fantastic thin crust Chicago Style Pizza, loaded with Italian Beef and giardiniera. Fresh ingredients; square cut small pizza pieces , easy to share and enjoy with your hands! You can use a fork & knife, but it's fun with your hands! Super clean place. The signs are easy to locate from the street and when driving past. Again, clean look. Very friendly service and professional. I want to applaud them for hiring and working with High School/College Students. This I've seen throughout this neighborhood and that is really what "community support" is, at its best. This is a great establishment for take away pizza. I thought the amount of topping was very generous and I loved the well cooked cheese. It all holds together well and works together. This is a great neighborhood, lots to do and enjoy. We love Obbie's! The Obbie's special pizza well done is our go to. Maybe one day we will try the stuffed pizza. They finished remodeling the inside and it looks clean and refreshed. (No dine in). Pizza is always made fast and counter girls are always nice. We usually get three pizzas so the old school bags are the best logistically for transport but it's nostalgic. read more

I was so disappointed about there stuffed Pizza, so I love Obbies pizza reg thin crust pizza but yesterday I wanted to try something different so I decided to order the stuffed Pizza and I ordered it with pepperoni, mushrooms and garlic, it barely had any pepperoni, mushrooms and very little cheese and on top of that it was a little pricey, so please don't buy the stuffed Pizza you will be disappointed, on the other hand the regular pizza is the best in the area and service is aways great read more

Obbie's was one of our favorites. No more. Thick crust. Not sure how cheese can taste bad but it did. Sausage tasted bad. Bunch of kids behind the counter having a good old time. Whoever owns this place now, needs to go back to the way the original owner ran it. Will not be going back. read more

I am still giving it 4 stars because I want to the new owner to correct the issue. The topping, cheese , sauce all tasted delicious and that pizza looked the same. I do miss being able to watch them make the pizza while I wait. Bad: I always arrive early because I want the pizza fresh out of the oven but something has changed with crust and it doesn't have same amount if any cornmeal on the crust, so it's missing that flavor and no longer crispy. I do not know if this is because of the cornmeal or just needing to be left in oven additional 3-5 mins. I always eat a couple slices outside because i love the crispy crust even getting home the crust was always still firm and crispy after 15 min drive I did go back in and told the staff and informs them several other people have left reviews about the crust and I am noticing the same thing. I hope more people speak up and just don't stop going to Obbie's so they know what needs to be corrected. read more

Can I give this place a solid 3.5? Decent tavern style pizza serving the Southside. I was devastated to hear that my favorite Southside pizza place closed down and Obbies came to the rescue. We called ahead and were instantly put on hold for like ten minutes. We finally get someone and you can hear the craziness behind the phone. We ordered our thin crust pizza and headed there. Our pizza took about 45 minutes and upon arrival, Obbies had the makings of a great pizza shop. Hole in the wall look, busy with customers in and out, people in the back busy making those pies. We finally got back to my in-laws home (along with a couple 1-Liter RC colas of course) and started on it. Overall, I would revisit the sauce and revamp it because it was mediocre. A mediocre sauce will make everything a little off. It was still decent for sure. Pricing was also pretty good. Service was a bit lackluster. I would give this place another shot and hopefully by then, they figure out that sauce situation, it was just a bit too tangy. They serve sandwiches and other things too. read more

I'm a frequent customer of this place and I usually get the same drivers. I tip them well because I do appreciate it. However, there's a middle aged woman, a middle aged guy, and then an older guy with shorter grey hair. I'm F'n tired of the older guy. Nothin but attitude every time you deal with him, and he practically wants you to go out to his car to grab the order. That's not how F'n delivery works. I was a delivery driver before. I went to every door for every house, apt, etc because it's F'n EXPECTED. Dude is a lazy azz and needs to go. The other drivers are great and friendly and bring the order to the door. My go to pizza spot in the area. If you're looking to sit down and eat, this is a take out spot fyi. Never had issues over the year with ordering over the phone, staff has always been friendly, and the pizza always consistent. Never had issues with delivery either. I do prefer this over trianos- nothing against them just my preference. I always thought this pizza was crispier in comparison and overall slightly better. Gave Obbie's a shot for late night delivery, guy on the phone was no nonsense in the best way possible. They were good delivering to us a few miles away...allowed me to throw a tip on the card for driver (nice). Driver had food to our door, albeit a little cooled off in about 45 min....he was extremely thankful for the tip which I appreciated! Ordered the fried chicken, it's broasted which gives the skin an unmistakable crisp and juicy meat. 4.8/5 chicken, so solid! On to the main event, ordered a medium cheese...was excited for the tavern style that I fell in love with down at Nick and Vito's earlier in the year. Pizza was heavy on the cheese...definitely a blend beyond mozz, maybe provolone..was a little too skunky for my liking. Cheese was well cooked, best part of pizza. Sauce lacked the sweetness i like on a tavern, wasn't bad, maybe a bit too mild. The crust was the miss for me, it was too thick and bready- not hot and definitely not crisp. It took away from what I appreciate most about the tavern pizza which was disappointing. The cornmeal on the bottom of the crust makes it even better BUT the BROASTED CHICKEN is the best chicken I have ever had. Ordering a pizza and thought I heard something about their Broasted Chicken. Ordered a 4 piece bucket. Brought it home about 6 miles. So crunchy and juicy. I just wanted a bite to taste because the pizza was the main event. I could not stop eating the piece of chicken. Of course I had some pizza but and it is delicious. But have to say the Broasted Chicken was the star!! Broasted Chicken is very unique and not really available. We used to order from Obbie's every other week. It WAS our local go-to and it always hit the spot - never less than 5 stars. But that was before... Since the new owners took over, we've ordered a few times and its just not the same. Of our last 5 orders, the highest rating has been 3 stars and that's being generous. The crust is 'off' - its thick and chewy now, not as crisp or flavorful as it was before, the toppings are thrown on without any effort to scatter them evenly, and the price has increased significantly. Not only that, but they now charge a "convenience fee". I'm not sure what the convenience here is exactly though - we called in the order, picked up the pizza, and paid with cash. What part was convenient for us? I'm afraid this was our final order from Obbies. $40+ for lackluster pizza? No thanks - there's better (and more economical) pizza to be found in the neighborhood. read more

I'm not repeating our trauma. Just look at the photos and see what their driver MIKE did when my husband wouldn't take the credit card receipt because he had put it in his mouth. We watched him do this from our security camera. We were assaulted and feel utterly violated and the owner was just as abusive over the phone. We are seniors and this man totally abused us. He also took my neighbors handicapped parking. The pizza was paid for in advance by credit card on the phone AS USUAL. I have been a regular at this establishment for many years, but the change in ownership has sadly led to a decline in the quality of their crust. The once thin and crispy cornmeal crust has replaced with an inferior version. To add insult to injury, the garlic bread that came with my broasted chicken dinner was also disappointing, lacking the soft and chewy texture that I've grown accustomed to. I have had Obbies many times over the last 5 years. My wife's family has had it regularly since they've opened. Not sure what happened but what was once a 5 star pizza is now well below average. It was not just one aspect of the pizza. The sauce tasted different, the sausage was very generic, the cheese was flavorless, the amount of meat was poor and the crust was just not good.
