This is an 'Open All Hours' place that sells wines, beers, tobacco, cleaning products, tinned goods and various other odd and ends and, like the alleged competition along the road, it does a brisk trade. The staff are helpful and the prices are pretty much what you'd expect from such a store.

I picked up some Vio Life olive slices last Saturday which I am excited about trying on my lunch shortly! As someone who is newly diagnosed with a wheat intolerance, I found so many items in store that I had I was allowed to have and found impossible to buy anywhere else. Examples include, wheat free biscuits, miso, cereals, flour and Hendersons relish!!!! I have looked everywhere for that in Birmingham and at last found it! 100% Vegan stock a massive range of pastries and cakes made locally which you cannot resist picking up when you visit, I have been to many Vegan stores across the country and what I haven't seen is genuine special offers. Not things going out of date "offers" but proper ones. I spotted quite a few in 100% Vegan last Saturday. I am a massive bargain hunter so was so pleased! With The Warehouse Café next door going from strength to strength, I am sure that 100% Vegan will be very successful over the next year. Go pay them a visit!

The store's interior is spacious, well stocked and logically laid out and everything seems clean and pleasant. The staff are welcoming and willing to assist customers when prompted and there is ample space for street parking outside the building. I visited this handy convenience store whilst passing, hunting for pet food for my girlfriend's new puppy. I was both surprised and impressed at the store's diverse range of pet supplies, and the prices weren't too bad either. I'd definitely visit again.

However because this is an Asian green grocers, the majority of products on offer will be targeted at the Asian community. Because my family regularly eat Indian food at home, this is the one place my parents come to when it comes to buying vegetables. This is also the place where we also buy our meat from. You can also buy Asian snacks and toiletries from here. My father and I always get along well with the staff here at Ghosia and we have never complained about the service they provide. The only complaint I do have is the number of flies you find where the fruits and vegetables are. It can be irritating when you have to get away from the flies when looking for the fruit and vegetables you want. But other than that I have no problems with this place.

When I first visited this store, it was a bit overwhelming as there was so much stuff all piled into the place, which is not that big. However, it stocks a range of fresh fruit and veg, some of which is stored outside during the day, so I often get a box and help myself. It states outside that it is self service. It is not so cheap, but then again he is competing with a range of other stores that stock similar items on the same road. One of the things I like most about this store, is that it stocks a range of Asian products, such as herbs and spices, which is handy when I attempt to make my own curries!

Moreover, they stock fruit and vegetables, an impressive range of freezer-food and desserts. They have a hot stand that has fresh pastries and snacks every morning - not bad if you need breakfast on the go! The shop is well-maintained and neatly organised. There is a small stationary section, cards and gifts area, as well as toys, toiletries and the necessities - milk, bread and eggs! The staff is always bubbly and welcoming (regardless of the weather!). They're open till late and seven days a week. There is a car park and the shop is wheelchair accessible. They always have offers on, whether it's on alcohol, confectionary or desserts. There is university accommodation across the road, so there's no surprise they stock all the ready-meals students could need!

They go the extra mile by giving good customer service, having a cash point and photocopying and faxing service (even though nobody uses fax much these days) The Items are well priced and I think in many cases they beat the supermarket prices. This is more common in the fruit and veg section. However they don't have a wide choice of products as their products are just the basic. If Select Xpress was closer to where I live I'd definitely be going here more often.
