While I had many court dates, they ALL were cancelled shortly prior to the appearance. My husband is disabled from a brain tumor and I am the primary support. We lost everything and ended up moving to Tennessee and are currently living in a trailer. At one point we were given a court date, came to Chicago and when Mr. Niermann saw us he asked "What are you doing here?". Again, we did not go in front of the Arbitrator. Finally, in 2013, out of necessity, we took a small settlement. Mr. Niermann told me that if we went to court and the case was appealed it would take me years to settle. He also stated that Arbitrator Black was severely behind in his cases and we might not received a good outcome. When my settlement check did come, Mr. Niermann's office held it for approximately 2 weeks. I would not recommend Mr. Niermann to others.

He tried making it sound like I was a risk to my son and a ton of other stuff. Even though I had a ton of people talk to him who have seen me and my son together and they all swore I was great with the kid, even another GAL swore how I was with him. He was not impartial he completely sided with the mother even after all the facts said I wasn't a risk to the child. He argued with medical professionals opinions using his "non existent" medical degrees to back his opinions. Then after the case he hit us with a huge bill that was never talked about once. He never brought up an hourly rate, never a estimate, nothing. He led me to believe that the 500.00 me and my ex paid were his fee. Never once hinting at more money owed. When I confronted him on the phone about it his reply was " I never had to tell you". Do not use these people! No integrity.
