Its a reasonable sized outlet where you can get your errands done. Provided of course that you can actually make it down to the post office within thier restrictive hours. Printing supplies and paper to0! Except for the two hours of lunch break "doom" when the Que stretches for miles, almost sometimes to the front door. All your usual items for post are available to but including packages and parcels to send. Express service available too. As much as one can expect from a post office. Some mediocre gift ideas too.

Most South Melbourne parcels go to Market St for pick up but very occasionally small parcels end up…read morehere. What a disaster. Firstly the hours are only 9-5 weekdays although they have just started opening on a Saturday (10-1:30pm so there is some chance of picking the parcel up). However if the original card is not dropped off so you don't know it is there and then they are shut the Saturday a week later due to public holiday it doesn't occur to them that it might be worthwhile holding onto a parcel and returning to sender on the Monday instead of returning it on a Friday. I mean everyone can get to the post office during the week between 9 and 5 can't they?

I went in and was posting a package and I ended up waiting in line for 20 minutes just to post a package. At one time, there was only one person working behind the counter because a person had gone on break and then slowly more people appeared to help out. The customer service at this post office literally sucks and every time I've been there I think I've probably had to wait 20 minutes or longer to get to the front of the line. I was hoping that after a while this post office would get better, but it looks like I'll need to stick to the other ones I go to instead.

First off I am referring to the parcel collection part of the "hub" rather than the retail shop. I…read morebuy a lot of items from overseas via ebay, AliExpress, Amazon etc. Until recently my post used to be either left in the secure mail room in my apartment or left at the post office on Bay Street. Unfortunately something has changed and now all undelivered mail is sent to this "hub", even if it is untracked and would actually fit in my mailbox. I would say 90% of the time there is no card left in my mailbox, I only know the item is at the hub if it is tracked. Many times for untracked items I have received an "Urgent final pickup" notice without having received any other card beforehand. It looks like they don't even attempt to deliver most stuff or leave cards. In theory the hub is better as is has longer opening hours but in practice every time I go there I seem to have issues. If the mail is tracked I get notified that the item is ready to pick up - I go to the hub and they say to come back later as it's not there. I come back later - they can't locate the item and ask me to prove it is actually there via the tracking info or the SMS on my phone. So they then try a bit harder and eventually manage to find the item. "Oh it was placed in the wrong place" is the typical response after my usual 15 minutes waiting. So I told them to tell whoever is placing the items that they are getting it wrong - EVERY TIME. This happens almost every time I go there. So much so that the last time, the guy there even remembered me and said "oh they put it in the right place this time". Sadly this was a one-off. The latest incident(s) - I was overseas for several weeks and got back to two "Urgent final delivery" cards with illegible info written on the and of course no prior cards. Went to try and pick them up only to be told they had already been returned. I don't think the woman even tried to look for them. This place is completely useless and staffed with lazy people who don't do their jobs properly. I just wish I had a choice of delivery companies for my purchases but unfortunately I am stuck dealing with these incompetent idiots.
