This is my first experience with Hospice and I have to say I'm truly disappointed by this agency…read more My husband died a week ago; no one from the agency has called to send their condolences (he was in hospice care at home for many months-so they were familiar with our family). He had many nurses and not one primary care nurse. It's seems like the employee turn around is massive. In 8 months he had at least 5 nurses. We had one fantastic home health aid, but I had to literally had to fire another one and ask her to leave because of the tone she used with my husband. I understand sometimes HHA's have to encourage patients to participate in ADL's but they should do so with kindness and respect, these folks are dying! Hospice makes $200.00 from medicare and what we got with that was a HHA for about an hour a day, meds and rental equipment. He saw a nurse for about 20 minutes each week. Hospice Agencies are for profit and they made a lot of money off of my husbands case. There are plenty of other Hospices in the area, do not use this one. Huge employee turn around, marginal nursing care, slim pickings on the home health aids and very little emotional support for my husband or our family.

This behavior should not be coming from a manager that runs this place . Right from day two they proved to be incompetent and uncaring. The " wound specialist " showed up one day and told us she had no sauve to treat the wound she would be back tomorrow. We never heard from her again. They had an aid who came out twice and did nothing but work on her laptop . She did not do one thing to make our loved one comfortable. The meds she needed were ordered late and the health care kit showed up weeks later. When I switched Hospices providers they refused to coordinate the switching of equipment with the new provider even though they told us they talked to the new agency. If you truly care about the comfort and safety of your love one , please do not consider Home Health & Hospice Care out of Merrimack NH . You and your love one will be very disappointed.
