For darts or dartboards ,then the Portes Lodge in Monument is the place.
We have been playing on and off for about a year now,but finding it harder and harder to get a free board at lunchtimes.
They have 6 boards, and they are always busy .
They even have an individual dart league like the premier league darts on sky sports, but instead of just premier league darts, they have 4 divisions ha!
If you want 'all bar one' type pubs with plain drivel for atmosphere well they have plenty of them in the City.
If I could compare it,I would say how the City Dart was when it was open. The Duke of Wellington is still open though, and the Horseshoe in Farringdon for pubs with dartsboards.
But if you want a throwback to pubs that give you music, darts, pool tables and proper people, well the Porters Lodge wins hands down.
Although Iv been there a few times,I cant knock the place, and the boards are all quality.
Maybe one drawback is they dont have Sky Sports, but I would say 8 outta 10 everytime for atmoshere.
And the staff are quite cool and laid back.
The music is mostly Hed Kandi and late on Thursdays is rocking. read more
