This restaurant is where it was decided that my brother and sister-in-law would have their wedding…read moremeal after they were married on this last weekend on Saturday. Basically split into two section, one half a bar/pub section and the other an area for eating and restaurant. There were around sixty or so people at this wedding meal, and I'm not sure Pissarros had the facilities to accommodate so many people at once. We got to the meal after coming from the church, taking pictures and running through the rain. We sat and waited to be served and talked among ourselves. The head table was served about 30 minutes after getting there, each table not getting their food until 10 - 20 minutes after the people on the last table. So there were two table who still didn't have anything to eat by the time the first three tables had finished! So we mingled and talked among ourselves and bought more drinks. Unfortunately having 60 people in such a small area meant it was extremely humid and getting hot. Although we asked for some fans to be turned on they weren't. Perhaps I'm used to having really good food in London, but the food didn't seem to be as good as it could be. Elle had a steak, chips and a side salad. I had a "big kahuna Cajun burger" with chips and mini ramekin with a grated salad in it. Our friend had the veggie burger, chips which ironically had NO side salad. The Steak was cooked perfectly, but was tough and difficult to get through, it was obviously sitting around a while and wasn't succulent and tasty like you'd want it to be. Chips were fine, and salad was good. We also had a side of olives. My big kahuna Cajun burger wasn't very spicy, I was hoping for more bite and spice to it. Would have been better with a few jalapenos thrown on top or something. The chips were ok, although I had about 5 and I gave my salad to the vegetarian at our table. The Veggie burger was ok, but there was a lot of bread with it and lots of chips too and no salad, which considering she was vegetarian was a little weird. No one had any dessert as we were supposed to go to a reception later at a club and eat cake, and other dessert there. Overall, the staff were pleasant and friendly, the food was pretty good and they tried their best with the problems of having 60 people packed into a small area, wheelchair access and lots of bouncy children who had to sit down for 6 hours and try to behave. The steak was a little on the expensive side, @ £17! The veggie and kahuna burgers were £9 and £9.50 each.

I had lunch here for the first (and last) time today. I hope my review helps others as I've very…read morerarely been confused enough to write a review of a restaurant. Firstly, they have tapas of 3 plates with a glass of wine for £18.50. I've a urinary infection atm, so definitely no wine. I asked for the tapas minus the wine please, but was told I'd be charged for wine anyway‍. Where is the flexibility? Then told I could have coffee or tea instead? I'm only drinking water because I have an infection I explain. Still no budge. Ok, I'll have the hummus, then. The hummus is not a side but it's on the menu as a main. Surprised to see a small tea plate arriving with a small portion and told I need to order bread (in order to eat the hummous) at £6.50 a portion. Either that or you can eat it on its own which no one has ever done in the history of hummous! My friend ordered a celery dish, which also came in a tasting size at £12 a portion. We ate, paid (mistake in the charge which I noticed, not once, but twice) left hungry and went somewhere else to have lunch...

We bring together the best farm, sea and craft produce and pair them with real-tasting wines. Our menu is simple: meat that tastes like meat, seafood that tastes like the sea, cheeses with character, and vegetables and wines that taste like the terrain they grow in. We aim to show off the best local produce alongside favourites from across the Channel. Expect natural flavours, farmyard characteristics and creative menus that run out with the seasons. Dogs and children are both welcome.

Taht is, friendly, independent, slightly seedy, different, interesting, and a place for sitting and talking. It's showing its years, but in a way that adds character. Not fancy in any way, it reminds me of bars in France. It'slived in. It's pricipally a wine bar, and there are several type of white and red wine available by the bottle and the glass. Champagne, kir, bottled beer, and soft drinks are also available. There are a few tables for four, a couple for two, stools at the bar, a round window seat for four, and some booths in the back. There are, oddly, two pianos - not sure if they're just for show. There's unlikely to be anyone in here under the age of 25. It's a place for chatting, for speculating, for catching up with old friends. The music is from a stack of CDs behind the bar and was an excellent mix of pop and soul last night. I'm going to spend a lot of time in this bar to make up for the years I've been missing it.
