We arrive via U er to the Porto Camphana train station about 2 hours ahead of our train boarding time to Lisbon. It was a short wait in line to ask questions about the trip, then we made our way to the waiting room and found seats. Thus far, staff have been friendly and helpful and the station is clean and has plenty of security personnel posted near the trains. Looking forward to a pleasant trip to Lisbon. read more

It's not the nicest train station I've ever used, but it's pretty clean and the signs make it pretty easy to find your track. There's a nice little cafe in the station to grab an espresso, a pastry, or a sandwich. Unfortunately, there's a strike going on with the rail workers so outside the station there are a lot of signs discussing the issues. read more

A busy station, not quite the elegance of São Bento but functional. Ticket attendant had a bit of English, enough to confirm my internet-purchased ticket and direct me to the correct platform. Sometimes a smaller station is easier to navigate through, this is the case here. read more

Porto Campanhã is a train station that travels up and down the peninsula. On this trip we are heading back to Lisboa to spend the final nights there before heading back to the airport. Its a metro ride from here to the Porto about 4-5 stops if my memory recalls correctly. This station has a cafe that actually does pretty decent. I had a roll with salmon and cream cheese which was fresh and light for the morning trip. The down side is there is a lot of homeless people in and around the station begging for money in very despairing ways. While I understand that there are some dynamics to this equation there is also a need for security and restroom janitorial support. Here is where these people can get jobs to support the homeless issue. The heavy traffic flows of paying customers that have to pay .50 € to P or is a bit absurd. You can imagine the shock when you get to the restroom entrance (see video). Inside and Outside the station you can see customers riding with their pets. When the pets have to go P they do not pay .50€, instead they lift the hind leg and go against the wall for no fee at all... I am not clear on why they wouldn't work that into the prices of the tickets whether you go P, or not! To get to the restroom and be stopped by the coin Nazi or gate stop is an embarrassment to the city in which it stands! Truth be told no one wants to go to the train restroom station if it can avoided but a fee that you don't expect after holding yourself for hours could be a tragedy for some... Outside of this halt, they are selling food, fresh fruits like cherries and other types of snacks that encourage your opportunities. The station also has a store to purchase lottery tickets, magazines, chewing gum and masks. There is plenty of seating space. Most of the attendants speak more than one language- english in most cases is never a problem. However, be specific in what you are asking for. Porto Campanha is basic and not even pretty like Sao Bento, which has gorgeous tiles. The train from Lisbon comes through Campanha and you can metro to Sao Bento for free but I had luggage so took a cheap Uber to my Airbnb and popped into Sao Bento while in town. If you are taking an Uber just pay attention to where it is slated to pick you up, because the pickup spots can be confusing. There are restrooms, a shop, some vending machines, and cafe. I think there may be an ATM. Waiting area is small and most people wait outside for the trains. You can arrive ten minutes before your train and it's fine. No need to rush here. read more

The one star is not for the station if trains itself but for the questionable service we received from the station's ticket agent. Her name is unknown. We wanted tickets to get from Porto to Lisbon and we're told there were two options. Either the regular train which would take over three hours or the rapid one which took just over two hours. The difference in price was only a few EUs so we opted for the rapid train. Well, the ride took well over three hours and during the ride, I inquired with a local who said she didn't know there was a rapid but stated that three hours is the usual time the train took as she traveled this line often for work. Did we get jipped or what???!!!! The bright side to this was we took the early departure time so still had a good amount of day left to enjoy Lisbon. The ride is picturesque with many photo ops so don't read or be on your phone. read more

We were just here to see the tiles. They're very nice. Was it worth the walk? Probably not. If you love tiles or happen to be near it- go see them. But I would not make a special trip. read more

This train station is very plain and utilitarian it is not very crowded and easy to navigate. I wish there were better options for food and drink. The waiting room is kind of dark and depressing. However it is the only way to travel between Porto and Lisbon. read more
