Boarding was very fast, Ferries cross about every 15-20mins in peak times. The ferries come in different sizes. From the simple one-level open ferry to multi-level ferries. There is a kiosk on board, in case you're hungry. They got pretty decent arancini for fair prices. The ride is very quick. In 20min you arrive on the other side. Debarking was another quick and easy matter. So we were very happy with Caronte. Everything went smooth, prices for a car (two ways) are fair for about 76 Euros. I'd use this service definitely again. We were happy with the service both ways to and from Sicily.

This beautiful hotel is located only 5 walking minutes from the ferry dock facing the ocean. The…read morerooms are very spacious and clean. The staff were super friendly and the breakfast that was included tasty with tons of choices. We stayed there for a couple of nights while visiting Stromboli - a very beautiful Volcanic island without street lights in the evening/night letting you see millions of stars in the sky. The hotel was super quiet at night but we woke up to loud street noises very early in the morning by locals driving to the ferry and getting ready for the tourists. Please note that the street in front of the hotel is one of the only main roads. The island is super small.

It was close to the ferry and train station but far enough away not to be too noisy. Our room even had a small terrace with a view of the water. Very very nice.
