I always leave with a horrific headache after a couple of hours in an enclosed space with the high pitched squeals of sweaty children having far more fun than is good for them. However, the silver lining to these places is the guaranteed time off resulting from the muckle nap small children will need shortly after visiting. It makes that couple of hours all worthwhile and keeps me coming back and happily handing over money. Bubbles Factory is purpose built and a really good soft play. The cafe area is clean, bright and appealing and the soft play area is well maintained and adored by big and small children alike. On this visit I ordered a coffee and empire biscuit for me and a cheese sandwich for puff. It is worth noting that a wait for food is usual but since everything is freshly prepared and there is plenty to distracted impatient children this hasn't ever been an issue for us, even on really busy rainy days. The coffee isn't brilliant, it's a machine rather than proper espresso and they do loose a star for that - proper good coffee would make me much happier here! But the empire biscuit and the cheese sandwich were very good and since puff went on to sleep for a mammoth 3 hours following our visit I'll be going back.

Party game was musical statues but had to be abandoned because the CD player kept jumping. The party food was simply greasy pizza that hadnt been cut up, chips and crisps. It was so disorganised, unprofessional and utterly shambolic. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

It's a great place to go if your kids are older than 5 I would say...they have no real system for monitoring who is coming and going with kids which to me is a big scary deal. Anyone could leave with a child. There appears to be no policy to ensure that that child is meant to be with the person they are leaving with. Given that my son managed to give us the slip makes the thought of what could happen here not worth bearing. The food is average. And it is kept to a moderate standard of cleanliness. I don't think I'll be going back until the kids are older.

If you want to go for the full on traditional seaside experience, then about 5 minutes along the promenade, there's a whole series of fish and chips shops.

As well as a farmyard full of animals to check out, you can pet lots of the wee ones. A whole barn full of fluffy bunnies, chickens and guinea pigs to stroke. Unless like me you're allergic in which case not touching is a much better option - puffy eyes, manic sneezing and a snotty nose does not make for a fun day out. Once you have spent a happy hour trying to teach a stubborn one year old any animal noise other than meeow, and failed, there is still plenty to do here with an inflatable cow bouncy castle, indoor soft play area, tractors to ride, trampolines to bounce, fossils to uncover and a lovely cafe to eat cake and drink coffee in. It has to be said that a rainy day would not completely ruin a trip to Almond Valley. There is plenty to do under cover and even a big picnic barn to eat in, not to brag but we used it for shade because it was so hot.

It's a huge warehouse that is full of trampolines…read more Because they had issues when they first opened they make you watch a video before you can book tickets, fill in a disclaimer, and then undergo an in person briefing before you can get on the trampolines. It's all common sense and about not trying things that you don't know how to do. They have loads of lockers to store your stuff in while playing that you need a pound coin for. They also have cubby holes for non-valuable things if the lockers are too small. Make sure to arrive about 15 minutes before your session to allow time to do all the above. Once you get on the trampolining area you can play dodge ball (it's really hard to pick up balls while bouncing), bounce on trampolines or my favourite the foam pit area. There are several fun things in the foam pit area, trampolines that you can jump off into foam, a slack line, ropes, and a really high bit to jump off into foam. It's super fun and you will be embarrassed at how long it takes you to crawl out of the foam. There is a cafe and relaxing area upstairs if you have those that don't want to take part but I think pretty much everyone can do at least part of it. It's quite tiring so an hour is more than enough unless you are super fit and love trampolining. I'm planning to go again and work on jumping off the high bit without squealing. You know like the 6 year old in front of me did.

This really is soft play heaven. A huge indoor play area for the little ones with a great cafe for…read morethe adults. The only drawback for me with this place is that as it is so big, if you are attending with toddlers you really can't sit back and enjoy your coffee while you watch them play. However, there is a great variety of play options for a wide age range. On weekdays there are lots of extra toys and little ride in cars and scooters for the toddlers. Sadly these aren't out at the weekends (I guess it is too busy at the weekends to make this feasible). Also watch out for an increase in the entrance fee at weekends, though this seems to be the case at other soft plays too. The cafe has a great selection of cakes, traybakes, snacks, breakfast and lunch options too. We have only ever had coffee and cake, but this has been lovely. Any time we have been the facilities have always been clean and maintained to a good standard. The changing facilities are spacious and well maintained also. For the older kids there is lots to keep them entertained also, the highlight being a 20ft drop slide called The Warp Drop... Not sure I'd be brave enough to try this one though! I really like this place and my two year old has a ball here. Though for this age group I would recommend attending early before it gets too busy, especially at the weekend !
