We experienced a pretty long wait time at this location. I am used to getting into the studio, being shot and back out within 20 minutes of our appointment time. We waited over an hour after our scheduled appointment time to get in. I do understand that is was packed and busy for the Mother's Day weekend however I definitely believe they overbooked their studio. The experience was just ok. Photo quality just ok. Came here with the family on my wife's co-worker's recommendation. The facility is on par with other photo studios who do the same thing. Slightly dirty. Staff was very friendly, and out of the 70+ photos taken, I think my wife and I were happy with about 10. Is this an average? Where Portrait Innovations wins out over others is their prices. Yes they have the ultra pricey packages, but if you stick with one or two poses, you can get a decent amount of photos to share with the family and friends for about $50, which is what we spent. Even got a few free holiday cards! While you wait for your photos, there are many nicer restaurants in the strip mall including a great Thai place next door. read more

Ashley did a great job taking our family photos. She has a way of getting kids to relax and let their personality come threw in pictures. We had four different backgrounds and had an outfit change for our toddler, and the shoot went flawlessly. They were very professional and easy to work with. It's not inexpensive, we spent a little over $700 for 64 portrait sheets (8x10 or 5x7's), 8 larger prints that featured multiple pictures, a high-resolution CD of all photos with copyright release, an two 8.5x8.5 hard cover portrait books and two 5x5 soft cover portrait books, and shipping for the photo books. We felt it was worth the money to get the most extensive package they have because we have never done a family photo session before. I'm not sure how much other studios charge, but PI had multiple less expensive options, we just loved so many of our pictures we went all-out! I would definitely recommend this location. read more

I made the mistake of making a Saturday afternoon appointment. We arrived 15 minutes before out scheduled time and still had to wait for over an hour to get started. This was not fun with 3 kids all under 3 years old who did not want to just sit around waiting. A little ways into the shoot the camera turned off so we lost about 10 minutes worth of shots and had to start over. I must say the staff seems nice and they were very good with the kids. The pictures turned out nice. Viewing the prints was very rushed and felt more like a sales pitch. The package started out over $600. We ended up choosing a smaller, cheaper package that came with a calendar and books. Even though we chose what photos we wanted in the books, when they arrived at the house they were totally wrong. A few pictures were doubles and some were black and white. When I called Portrait Innovations about their mistake, I was told to call corporate. Upon calling corporate, I was told to call the store and schedule an appointment to go back with all of the products and they will fix the mistakes. After dropping off the books, calendar, and CD with all of the pictures, I never heard from Portrait Innovations again. I called back a few times and was told that they were working on it. After a few weeks when I called they couldn't even find my items and somehow had no record that we dropped everything off. Since they don't keep the photos on their computers, they now had no way to reprint anything and my originals were lost. All in all, this was an absolute horrific experience. The company was extremely unprofessional in the way they handled everything and I will never return, nor can I recommend this place to others. read more

I went in for formal grad photos with my daughters after being horribly disappointed by the Lors photos that were taken at school. I brought with me a sample of exactly what I wanted. The photographers at Portrait Innovations bent over backwards to make sure I not only had exactly what I wanted, but also had sooooo many more beautiful choices to decide from. Ultimately, I walked away with what I wanted plus so many more memories to share with family and friends. I could not have been happier with the quality and service of Portrait Innovations!! My daughter does not take good pictures and will not leave my side for a second, but the girl who took the pictures (I forget her name) was so patience and was awesome. scheduled my appointment online for the studio in Mt Laurel, NJ for 1:10pm, I'm trying to get ready and I receive a call that they are understaffed and I need to return their call to confirm a later time slot, well that irritated me and I was frazzled because I wasn't planning on being out even later, well due to a later time slot, traffic was horrendous and unfortunately I wasn't able to arrive on time, the earliest I could make it was 20 min late, they call me when I'm right around the corner from the studio and ask to speak with someone other than me, they have the wrong name and then they want to reschedule, I told them I drove all the way there from over 40 minutes away, I was not rescheduling, I would be right there. I get there and the photographer right away seemed like she had no experience with children, my son was not cooperating and didn't want his picture taken, He's 2, it happens, the photographer seemed clueless on how to try and get him to calm down, she wanted to hand him a ball or stuffed animal, no experience what so ever with interacting with children!! She did nothing to try and make him laugh or smile!! I was trying to cheer him up the whole time! The photographer seemed shy, very quiet and didn't have the personality to interact with customers, very unprofessional and showed lack of skills in photography and customer service!! The Front Desk associate was trying to interact with my son more than the photographer!! I guess anyone is just hired to do the job!! After about 20 min of trying to get my son to be comfortable in the environment to get his pictures taken, he calms down and is a little more cooperative,she shows another photographer that she only has taken 4 pics , they then tell me we need to move rooms and go to the back to give the other photographer that room!!! I was furious! I told her after spending all this time, you want to move rooms!! I just got him calm! I told her it was rediculous to make us move rooms and start all over again and get comfortable in another room!!! She never informed us from the beginning that we would be moved which was unacceptable!!! They are the worst Portrait Studio that I have ever went to!!! Ashley was an amazing photographer!! We went in at 9am for family pictures and Ashley was very nice and knew exactly how to coordinate a family of 10 people (incl. Grandparents and Aunts/Uncles). She was great with our 1 year old and knew just how to make him laugh and look at the camera. Then once we were done with the pictures, she was able to edit them right before our eyes and she was super quick and patient!! Ashley made the whole experience great!! read more

Went here for the first time. Was told when we walked in that they were running behind schedule. How about a phone call? Heard staff saying three groups were 30 minutes or more late. Hello, they missed their appointment and need to reschedule! What about the people who were on time? How about scheduling appointments further apart? While I understand working with young children can be difficult, that should be taken into consideration and maybe ask the ages of children when scheduling and have longer time between appointments. While my pictures came out great, trying to keep a one year old entertained and happy for 1.5 hours was difficult. read more

Very poor customer service. We arrived early and they were running hours late. There were people who had appointments at least 2 hours before ours that hadn't been seen. I had to reschedule with a different company. The Staff said nothing to apologize and had all their customers (most with little kids) sitting and waiting far past their appt times. I wanted to express to you my experience at Portrait Innovations. This past Sunday, November 17, I headed with my sister to the Portrait Innovations location in Mt. Laurel, NJ, a 45 minute drive from my home. We had a 9:30am appointment and we checked in at 9:09am. We were asked to wait over 45 minutes before we were seen by a photographer, despite people arriving late for their earlier time slots. We purchased the $29.99 Advertised Special that included a 16X20 canvas. Additionally, we purchased a package for $124.99 that included prints and a high resolution Portrait CD. We only purchased that package because we wanted to get the CD, but were were told that we couldn't purchase it separately. No one ever actually showed us in writing the package or what it included in total. The CD was to have four digital images on it. You can imagine my disappointment when I got home, and learned that the CD was blank! When I called the store, I spoke with Ashley who said she would see what she could do to help us, but it will involve another 45 minute trip to pick up the CD. If you want a refund, you have to go to the store where they give you a voucher that you mail to corporate and then corporate will send you a refund check. Good grief! In numerous emails to customer service (there is no phone number) we were told that the package we purchased doesn't include these images, but they were not able to provide us with documentation of this via a receipt or any promotional material to the contrary. My contention is that this company pulled a "bait and switch." We purchased a package that were were told was one thing, we were not provided the product purchased, and now they are attempting to up-charge us for the same product we originally purchased. Throughout they have not been able to show us where - in writing - this promotion lies and where this would be accessed by the consumer. Customer Service ignores emails, won't refer you to a customer service manager, and calling the store doesn't help because they tell you to email customer service. We ended up filing a report with the Better Business Bureau, documenting the deceptive sales tactics and the poor customer service that we have received. read more

I am pretty sure your experience here will depend largely on your photographer, but my overall experience with this company was terrible. I won't be back! Our photographer seemed inexperienced and did the bare minimum. I asked for one good shot of my four children. I know this isn't an easy task, but the kids were cooperative and I was hopeful. One very frustrating thing about this type of studio, is that they force you do to many required groupings. (Boys together, girls together, single portraits etc.) So while we got a few ok poses when all was said and done, I still didn't have a good shot of all four children. She didn't even take the full 60 shots, she said so at the end. I begrudgingly picked a shot I didn't really like, but it was the best option. I took a brief look at the prints and left. When I got the photos at home, I realize that on some of the prints, one of the children was almost completely cropped out of the photo! I drove back to the studio and the manager re-printed them all for me with proper cropping. I went online and ordered four photo books for Christmas presents so I could use some of the other poses that were taken. Well, the photo books finally arrived... along with a book from another customer they had shipped to me by mistake! I looked in our books and there was a photo that I didn't use in the book, poorly cropped, printed on a page. I went on line to double check the preview, and no, it wasn't in there! Somehow their computer had printed the wrong photo. (Although I mentioned the mis-sent book three times, the rep didn't say what I was supposed to do with it! I am going to go ahead and ship directly to the address inside the package and hope it gets to them. I doubt Portrait Innovations will make things right for that customer either!) After a lengthy conversation with the customer service rep, who put me on hold for about 15-20 minutes total, they offered to reprint the books IF I could return the misprinted books to the studio and even then I wouldn't have the correct books until after Christmas. My other option was a $10 check to be mailed to me. Um, after spending $64.11 on photo books and $30 for the studio experience, that is the best they could do. Needless to say, I will take my money somewhere else in the future! Buyer beware! read more

I was told I could not use my coupon because my daughter had her pictures taken there 2 weeks ago (she was by herself just having a regular picture done) . My son is 19 I had him in our photo than he had a separate apt after us for him self and his girlfriend. They told him he could not have his apt with his girlfriend today because he was in our pic the same day . The staff was very friendly and worked above and beyond photographing my nephew for his Mother's Day gift to his Mom. Even though it was mobbed and we had to wait beyond our scheduled appointment time, the shoot went quickly and we ended up with some wonderful photos. If I could suggest a change, it would be to update the props. I brought my nephew there three years ago and he was photographed in the same blue wingback chair as this shoot. My photos came out extremely dark I took them back they were redone however when my canvas came in it was also extremely dark needless to say I had to have everything all did over. Still haven't received my mug this was December 21,18. I went back to get the new order and it was still dark on the canvas the employees there were unprofessional had no empathy and seem to try and convince me these were great photos these were my baby's first photos and they were for Xmas. There was no way to reach a manager other than email and he didn't deliver any results either poor quality poor customer service slacking management will not ever go here again !!. So we arrived 30 minutes early for our appointment, to be in the safe side. Our appointment was at 7pm and we were not seen until 20 after. This wasn't to bad as I am in the service industry so I can be patient, as I waited I had seen a particular photographer that I had before and she was terrible the first time I had her and had to schedule a reshoot about a year ago, so I mentioned to my husband there is that lady we had about a year maybe a year and a half ago I hope we don't get her! Long behold we got her again, I was okay with this I figured maybe she just had a bad day let's give it another whirl. So we start our shoot with 60 frames and maybe working 7 minutes the entire shoot was done, she zipped through and wasted so many frames just shooting while we were moving, hair in our faces and just seemed to not care about her work! I did not catch her name, she had long thinner hair in a pony tail with a blue scrunchy, she looked to be older than everybody else to work there with big blue eyes! She had no personality and was not kind with my kid ( didn't seem to be much of a people person) she's terrible I would recommend if you see some e that fits this description to politely ask for another person! She did give use another chance to shoot 6 more photos however, but we should have been able to get a reshoot rite on the scene of the entire session with a different photographer, terrible!
