Growing up with Only-Child brand (tm) narcissism and a name that wasn't often found in the keychain kiosks, I have always been a total sucker for personalization. Having since given the best of my years to graphic design, pulling up a front seat to the bounding astounding evolution of imaging tools, I'm now easily able to personalize most things myself. My favorite supplies provider Staples and I are like *this.* You can't see it, but I'm pointing at a picture of Klimt's "The Kiss," except personalized, naturally, to replace the faces with mine and the Staples "That Was Easy" button. You need postcards? Invitations? Calendars? Iron-ons? Temporary tattoos? Dude, just give me the mouse and a decent printer and we're in business. But have you ever tried to make your own puzzle? Before you start, don't. DIY is clever up to a point, but when you're trying to design / print / cut your own jigsaw, that's just embarrassing. No. Just, stop. Go to Portrait Puzzles. Portrait Puzzles really only does the one thing, and they do it expertly. It's almost as easy as the Staples button. You just upload your favorite hi-res masterpiece and select the puzzle size, and they'll put together the rest of the pieces. They are excellent about communication regarding ordering procedure and shipping, and the finished product is perfect and sent in your choice of a cardboard or tin box with your image on the front. I've ordered three puzzles so far for my stepdad, in increasing levels of difficulty. The last one -- a 1008 piece monster -- was best described as "abstract," and took him a few months to complete. The photo commemorated a trip we took to San Francisco together. All the pieces were there and fit together (essential), and it looked awesome when it was done. It's now framed and hangs in the living room. Does it cost more than buying a regular thousand-piece puzzle? Heck yeah. But is it worth it to see the joy you'll bring to your loved ones as they reconstruct the very personal photo you took piece-by-perfectly-jigsawed piece? Again I say: heck! Again I say: yeah! Presents. Puzzles. Personalization. Perfection. It's pretty much as personalized a present as you could get. Except for maybe this nightgown I have with my pixelated face and the words "MERRY CHRISTMAS" dot-matrixed directly onto it. Merry Christmas, indeed.

Really bad customer service (they act like they are doing you a favor), and really, really, REALLY slow shipping.

I ordered my puzzle just days before Christmas and they were able to get it completed and shipped in time for Christmas.

Bernardo Cueto is the most wonderful, kind, skilled, and caring lawyer I could ever hope to find!…read moreOur son and his roommates were having severe trauma with a verbally and mentally abusive landlord while at college. This was such a horrifying experience as first time college renters as well as for we parents (who all live out of town). Navigating what to do as victims was so agonizing. I happened to come upon Bernardo's information and gave him a call. He was so kind, caring, and compassionate. All he wanted was for our boys to be safe, and he was very concerned about their mental well-being as well as effects of ptsd. As a father himself, he knows how precious our children are. Bernardo knew the law extremely well! He was quick, efficient, and to the point. He had no trouble having our boys released from this abusive environment. He even got most of their deposit back. I can't thank him enough for all he has done for us. If anyone is having an abusive landlord situation, contact Bernardo Cueto! He was the most wonderful gift in such a bleak situation. All four of our families and boys will be eternally grateful for all of his help. Now our children can worry about normal college things like studying. Thank you just isn't enough, Bernardo. You definitely are an angel in our eyes.
