These guys are the best. They will try just about anything to get you what you need and keep you on the water. When I need somehting for my boat, I go here first. Other local marine service centers seem to be more interested in picking your pocket then fixing your problem. I always feel like they do the best they can to help you. read more

charge over $600 to simply pressure test a toon. I bought the boat new in 2021 the day I went and picked it up after it was all set up I saw a long crease/dent on the inside of one if these toons that was not there when we made they deal. they dented it when they picked it up with the extra long forks. the person I was dealing with we made a deal that if I have any issues in the future, they would work with me for a deal is any issues arise for anything. well how soon they forget, classless. And it took them two weeks, just to get back to me. read more

I took my boat in for rough running issue, thinking it was something I'm not familiar with, like fuel injectors and/or fuel pump. Told them to diagnose and I would fix. I was charged $610 to change 4 spark plugs and the alarm in the wire harness, which was supposedly a hours worth of work for $90.. a monkey could have done it in 10minutes. They charged $125 for the diagnosis (which I would have gladly paid), $125 for a joy ride on my boat (water test that I didnt ask for AND they launch from their parking lot) and $75 for a SECOND computer hook up. Parts and tax = $610 for 4 spark plugs and a harness deal(once again I didn't ask for) and a hours worth of work. Robbery! Don't go here! This won't help my situation but hope it will help anyone else from making same mistake,and if anyone has had similar experience let them have it! Thanks! read more

Very unimpressed. Wanted to buy a used boat and it is the end of May. The salesperson said one came in and was very clean and ready to go, but it would be "a couple of weeks" before I could test it in the water (end of June?). I asked if they were short-staffed and his rude response was "we aren't like Mcdonald's fast food". This place is not in the business to sell boats but only fix and store boats. Do not buy anything from Powerhouse, you will regret it. If your purchase runs into any issue of any sort they will do absolutely NOTHING to help you. Their customer service is virtually non existent. I bought a brand new boat motor from them that leaked oil the first time I had it on the water. What did they do about it? Nothing. I had to get it fixed on my own and months later still waiting on refund for the warranty. I should have known to be cautious after they gave me the wrong gas can, no kill switch cord, and mounted the motor completely off center on my boat. Pisshouse is a terrible marine shop, avoid at all cost. read more

I have been taking my boat to them for winterization, which they seem to be doing decent but they have bungled other jobs. I had them install a bilge pump in my first boat and they didn't mount it to anything. It was just loose in the hull. It had an auto-sensor to bilge out rain etc if needed. I got in my boat and tried to bilge it before using it and the bilge didn't function. I looked at it and it was sitting an an angle and visibly charred and melted and I found a sizeable shell had been sucked in an wedged into the impeller. I called the bilge manufacturer to see if it could be replaced under warranty and they said they would not because the problem was it was not installed correctly and that it should have been mounted to a flat surface to prevent that exact thing from happening. I went to Power House and explained to the service manager what the bilge rep said and he called the owner over and the owner basically told me the same thing he told one of the other reviewers, that the rep didn't know what they were talking about and that there was nothing wrong with how they installed it. He told me that I turned it on and left it on until it fried itself and treated me like I was trying to scam them out of a free bilge pump. He was very rude. In another issue, I have a loud screeching sound coming from my engine and I have taken it to them twice to get it fixed. They replaced and tightened belts the first time and replaced the alternator the second time, which caused me several hundred dollars.... and DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. I lived with the screeching for the rest of that summer and now I'm looking for a different marine mechanic. read more

We took our boat to PowerHouse Marine to have a new trolling motor installed. Installation of the motor was fine. After we picked the boat, we realized the transom saver was missing. Upon calling Powerhouse, there was no answer. A second call was answered by the Sales Department, they tried to transfer to Repair Dept. with again no answer. We left a message in regards to the missing transom saver and never received a call back. My husband stopped into Powerhouse to ask about the missing transom saver and he was told they didn't have it. They were going to order a new one to replace it until an older man came out and was complaining that we should "call when we find it at home", "it probably fell off when it was brought in", "We took it off prior to bringing it in"...my husband was extremely upset at such unprofessional service and left without getting a new one ordered. We KNOW the transom saver was ON the boat when it was dropped off. It couldn't have fallen off as it was bungeed to the boat. The customer service and lack of communication was some of the worst my husband has ever experienced. A couple other issues post repair work were holes left in the boat after removing the old trolling motor bracket. Two holes had been filled, while two were left unfilled. The nameplate "Four Winns" on the side of the boat was also broken. We will NEVER use this business again due to such unprofessionalism and lack of customer service. read more

We brought the lower unit of our Yamaha outboard motor to Powerhouse Marine last winter. We left the unit AND a water pump repair kit with staff. It took them 5 weeks longer than they promised to make the repair. And, they said they had no recollection that we supplied the water pump repair kit and charged $50.49 for it. We are very disappointed they would not subtract the cost of the water pump repair kit from the final bill. Something is wrong when a customer can not feel confident that the business will document items supplied by the customer. Powerhouse Marine needs to make repairs in a more timely fashion, change their intake paperwork, and supply the customer with a copy of the estimate noting any parts supplied by the customer. Lets see where do i start, liar Larry they service manager never has a clue whats going on, consistently says hell call you back, never will you have to call him. Then its ohhh yes we just need to drive it test and call u back- then its another 2-300 bucks and another week gone by. They wont work on your boat unless you hound them, and even then they have ZERO clue how to really fix your boat. Our pretty standard issue 120hp outboard has been in they shop over 3 months now. I keep being told it will be ready in the morning. They are unorganized, lack of honesty, and it seems like a circus being run into the ground over there. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! Its now mid October, im temped to just not call them because i no they wont call me and if thats the case looks like free storage over the winter since theyll still be "fixing" it. If they actually called you back when they say your parts would get ordered in a reasonable timeframe, BUT you dont get any calls unless u bug them, so your part doesnt get ordered and your boat continues to sit there- LIARS read more

Friendly owner (Dave Tucker) and mechanics were very polite. However they told me that the lower unit on a boat I was interested was gone through THOROUGHLY and was in EXCELLENT shape. I bought a boat for $2000 that was supposed to be ready to drive right away. Before I ever got on the water, the steering cable assembly broke from being rotten ($350 repair bill.) The throttle cable snapped at first use ($27.) Finally get it it water after all the repairs, and it does not even propel in forward. The lower unit is jumping and slipping like crazy when shifted forward. They told me that it was fine when I barrel tested it (which shows idle quality, that's it.) I drove 180 miles back to force them to fix it. It was sold as a WORKING boat. They didnt want to look at lower unit at all, so they played with linkage. It test drove in La Crosse, making it to top speed, but still slipped 2x while mechanic ROGER drove. He claimed it slipped out of gear a few times and the part that holds that in gear is no longer made and would cost $1000 of MY MONEY to have a local shop machine me one. Absolute BS! Every part IS available through Evinrude and their is NO machining of parts necessary! I get home and the first use of the motor, I get 5 miles from a boat landing and the lower unit goes back to non-stop jerking and slipping once again. Lucky to make it back with trolling motor on a 14,000 acre lake. Finally I got fed up and tore apart lower unit myself (with zero mechanical experience) and found a worn clutch dog and forward gear, just as I told them I thought was the problem from day one. I was able to fix in myself, with little skills and a lack of tools and shop adhesives, even though their guys couldnt do it. I ended up sticking almost $1000 into this boat to make it run right after giving them $2000 for a "perfectly running boat." These guys are into selling junk boats and lying to get your money. Their mechanics are a joke. Do not trust this place!!!! Absolutely PATHETIC!!! read more
