Hands down, this has been one of the most memorable and unique places that I have ever stayed at! I absolutely loved it. The property itself is beautiful. It has lots of vegetation, flowers, chickens, trees, bamboo, rocky steps, adorable rooms, and the views are absolutely amazing! This place is located on top of a mountain, so you can see the city of Xilitla from up above (it looks tiny from up there!). The hanging nests are $40 a night. What a bargain! Inside your nest is a mattress, pillows, blanket, and bottled water. They provide a plastic container outside for your bags/luggage. The restrooms and showers are community ones and they are near the restaurant area. It's a little walk from your nest, so go to the restroom before you go to sleep! I might suggest bringing ear plugs, bc it was pretty noisy at night. You will hear chickens walking around, dogs barking, roosters, etc.! In the morning it looked like we were up in the clouds. Make sure to wake up for the sunrise, it was awesome! We got there late at night so we missed out on dinner (I think it closed at 8). We made sure to enjoy their breakfast the next morning. The restaurant area is up on a wooden platform and is surrounded by trees. You get to enjoy the beautiful view of the mountains while you eat. Our breakfast was really tasty and very reasonably priced. It looked like their were some hiking trails near the property. Next time I plan on getting there earlier to be able to enjoy the property for longer. I cannot wait to stay here again! **The hotel is a little difficult to book, because you can't book it online. You have to call ahead and you must know Spanish to communicate with the hotel staff. When we reserved ours, they wanted us to have a Mexico bank account, which we didnt have. They told us to just bring cash and that they would hold our reservation. I was a little nervous that they would give it to someone else since we had not paid, but it was all ready for us when we got there!

We reserved our stay over the phone, you can either pay in cash when you arrive or pay with a Mexico bank account. They have a few different room options: a large cabin (holds several people), hanging nests (holds 2, they only have 6 total), little cabins with round doors (holds about 2-4 people). We came for the nests! Staying in the nests was a very unique experience. I have never slept in a place quite like this. They are very affordable and a one of a kind experience. In the morning I enjoyed chilaquiles for breakfast with a breathtaking view in the mountains and city down below. This place was truly an amazing experience. I will be back again.

I can have a 5 star experience camping primitively. It has potential to be a great bed & breakfast, but it's not. After a full day's worth of driving on dangerous winding roads through the mountains all I wanted to do was unwind! Sadly, this was not the hotel for that. My road trip to close out 2017 and bring in the New Year had a total of 5 hotel stays. I know that when traveling in rural areas it's difficult to get commodities we are used to. My 11 day vacation was in remote rural areas and I booked my hotels beforehand. The only things I required was Wi-Fi for the kids and hot water for me. Both of those things are hard to come by in South America, unless you're staying at a high end resort and even then Wi-Fi sometimes comes at an additional price. I don't understand why, even Turkey offered those things plus breakfast in the most rural of areas! I don't recommend it. Here's why: They do have free Wi-Fi, but the signal doesn't reach inside the room in their third floor three bed room. At first, I told the kids "No big deal one night without internet will not kill you, just watch television." To which they replied with a knot in their throats, "What TV? Where is it?" We asked to be moved, so for the same price no discount I was downgraded to a two bed room. Where the signal was weak and my children complained about losing the signal every few minutes. Then there is the bathroom. The toilet is in the shower. No I am not kidding. I mean there is no door to separate it and when you shower the sink and toilet shower too. Remember to take out the toilet paper so it doesn't get wet, and then remember to bring it back in so you can wipe your behind. This is all, you need additional warning? In case you still have doubts, remember I said I require hot water. My oldest took a shower, then my middle son got in and with soap still in his hair he starts yelling "mommy the water is cold!"

The price might seem high for Mexico, but I think it's worth it. Especially in comparison to USD, it's pretty cheap for everything you are getting. *Activities at the property: -River, hammocks, campfire, board games *Activities close by: (less than a 5 min drive) -waterfalls, waterfall jumping, canoeing, zip lines/ bike zip line (at the adventure park), hiking, etc. Each adorable hut has four bunk beds and holds about 8 people (some might be different, but that's how ours was). The huts have 2 fans in them, but no AC. And YES, it does get super flipping hot in the summer!! We went early July and sleeping was miserable, but I would absolutely come back (prob in a cooler month next time)!! They have community bathrooms and showers. The only cons from our stay were: -Booking must be done over the phone and it is a little difficult if you don't speak Spanish. -Rooms were super hot during the summer -Dinner was not until 9:30! -They change the menu day to day and our dinner was pretty gross! They served us italian food, in Mexico! Yuck! Our traditional Mexican breakfast the next morning was AMAZING though, so it totally made up for it!! Overall, I really loved this place. It was unique and something fun to try. The location was really good with plenty of entertainment. It's far enough out that you can still feel off the grid and in touch with nature. I will for sure be back!

Lots of space and lots of beds in each room. -I like how dinner and breakfast were included in our stay. -Campfire/marshmallow roasting each night (bring gram crackers and chocolate if you want to make s'mores). -Affordable and great location-close to nearby attractions/entertainment -A unique property and place to sleep Cons: -If you are used to being in AC, I would highly recommend not staying here during the summer/hot season. It was very, very hot inside our sleeping quarters. They do have fans inside, but it doesn't help much. -I wish they would stick to local foods for their meals. One night we had italian food for dinner. This was not good at all. We have been to Italy and had some really good italian food, and theirs did not even come close. They should definitely stick to local Mexican food!! (The Mexican breakfast in the morning was great, thank goodness!). In conclusion, we had a really fun stay at this place. I would definitely recommend giving it a try.
