Posada Pachamama is really quite small. Yet, with only 10 rooms it is pretty sizeable for the tiny town of Majahual. Barely off the beach, the hotel has a deal with their neighbor the Yaya beach club so that guests can lounge on their beach/chairs/cabanas for free. This is clutch, because the entire town is built to cater to the occasional cruise ship that stops by. At these times thousands of passengers disembark and pay exorbenant prices to sip cocktails on privately owned beaches all day. For anyone staying in town, they wouldn't want to pay day rates just to get in the water. The rooms in the hotel are small and fairly sparse, but there is AC, a TV, and a safe in every room. My wife described it as feeling both clean and fresh, two very important characteristics one wants in a hotel room. Free wifi is available even on the 3rd floor, and as I turn in for the evening I can't help but feel that this is exactly the kind of nice, small, reasonably priced hotel that we would want for a weekend on the beach. read more
