Sure enough, after a few weeks I realized he had a very bad case. I live in a 2-family home and the other family was complaining because he barked and howled all day. I called the shelter very upset and tearful saying I needed to rehome this little dog. The person I talked to shamed me. She said "can't you just give him a Kong filled with treats." This statement told me she knew nothing about anxiety in dogs. When a dog has separation anxiety, their bodies are flooded with adrenaline and they are in fight/flight mode. They are having a huge panic attack that lasts till the owner comes home. I filled a Kong with chicken and when I came home 3 hours later it was still uneaten. As soon as I opened the crate he grabbed the Kong and ate. A dog with this issue is suffering, not just reacting angerly because you left him alone. Someone should teach this worker about these issues. No dog should ever have to suffer that kind of fear. I am now working with a poodle rescue to rehome this little dog whom I have come to love very much. Also, when I brought Parker (now Dash) home he had a double ear infection, tape worms, and he was chewing his scrotum and needed to wear an Elizabethan collar. This vet trip cost me $280.

Their self importance and narcissism almost made me leave. After the infections and all that stuff that dogs get from animal shelters that are poorly kept turned out to be a great dog, the only problem is they said they gave him shots I told them I need proof of the Rabies shot because I'm going into another country with the dog well that was seven months ago and I'm still waiting for it. After, I tried to call, the phone number is out of service. Too much attitude from them to ever go back or recommend them. I feel sorry for the animals there, they would probably find homes for them a lot quicker if they lost the poor attitude.

If you understand the no-kill shelter facility you do not expect a pretty store front pet shop environment, nor a breeders surroundings. What you see are animals that have been saved from For Profit Kill-shelters (Humane Society etc), unwanted or sick animals in need. There are a few attempts for the human eye, but it is clear that that main focus is on the pets. They take this very seriously and each animal is an individual whose needs are being met whether it's behavioural or medical. They are honest about their past, and due to extenuating circumstances have had a few set-backs; all have been met to above legal standards. The day we visited they had no idea we were coming so there was no "show" being put on. Just a lot of volunteers working hard and a bunch of happy dogs. I saw no aggression in any of them and we were made to feel welcome and was taken on a tour of the entire facility. The owner has some very good ideas to change the law of crating as she feels crating is not an ideal situation for dogs. Due to a fire they are still interior crated at night or put in the few single inside runs that have been built so far. Michelle's vision is to have all dogs in their own interior runs rather than crated at night; with doggie doors to exterior spaces. Her objectives are slowly being implemented and it is evident in her excitement and enthusiasm. This is a charity, so she receives no help from public external sources. All her time and money is put back into the facility. However. I do caution you that if you are wanting a furry friend in your home think long and hard. This is a responsibility that requires your constant love, attention, and care. If you are unable to do this, go buy a Gund.

Explained wholly the QUESTIONABLE (?!) means by which they came to have my pups in the first place expecting, like ANYONE to resolve to the satisfaction of all involved parties but moreover advocating on behalf of my babies interests and needs 1st with the utmost of their interests and my own responsibilities in mind. They instead deleted their 'adoption post', attempting to actually justify that i 'no longer 'OWN' my dogs' through a series of slanderous, discriminating, misinformed and inflammatory statements posted on my social media and across that platform of my search posts, WITHOUT rebuttal, without any consideration for myself advocating on behalf of my babies interests and needs : that they be returned to their KNOWN LOVING HOME. These are not '$100.00 dogs' or 'property' to me they are FAMILY. Personally, I find this extremely unethical and certainly not in the BEST interests of all parties. Moreover, and with ABSOLUTE certainty, NOT in the best interests of my babies that certainly want to come BACK HOME. I would never surrender my dogs and i'm abhorred that they're being put through this situation. This, in my opinion, most definitely has crossed the line of ridiculous to profound. I NEED my babies home where they belong and certainly where they want to be. I cannot live a normal, productive, and happy life without them, and the biggest part of my pups will forever be missing without me. They are 3 GENERATIONS DEEP, my FAMILY. And i'll not betray the memories of their beloved ancestors, family before them. I don't know what more i can offer or, what I or anyone can do to appease this Corporation's NEEDS! 'BRICKWALLED.' Emily has been a godsend to us since we got our puppy back in February. She pops in when we have to…read morebe away from him longer than we'd like, and she gives us the piece of mind in knowing that he'll be taken care of while we're gone. She is also VERY good at exercising him and helping him get all his puppy energy out so he sleeps through the night for us, which was a real struggle in the beginning. Each one describes having had a very positive experience adopting their animal from the shelter . They only had good things to say about the condition the animals were in, their care & how well they were treated & loved. Of the four no one mentioned the number of animals as a problem except one person. He did not disagree that there were many animals but had no criticism of it negatively affecting the good quality of care they were receiving. In fact, he felt in view of the large numbers of animals desperately needing help, it made sense to take in more as long as the shelter was able to provide the necessary care to each of them. The concensus in these reviews is that they are indeed doing this very competently.

As a former volunteer, I also worked to help maintain the shelter. I can say first hand that the comfort and personality of each cat is considered, rooms and cages are cleaned twice a day, with multiple feedings and treatments, and lots of one-on-one attention from a large team of people who are there because they love cats. ARN actively promotes the adoption of any healthy cat to a safe home. It's important to note that there are negative comments and images posted here that are very misleading. Most likely, any cat with visible symptoms is newly rescued and obtaining special treatment and recovery from a whole host of circumstances. It takes time for a cat to physically and emotionally recover from life on the street. If the cats are deemed to be happy and healthy, they are blessed to be adopted or live their full lives at the shelter where they are kept safe, warm, well fed, and loved. My advice to anyone is to make an appointment to visit the shelter and see for yourself that Animal Rescue Network is doing wonders to help these cats.
