I was impressed by the inclusion of park staff for educational programming and talks about the the galaxy stars and more. They had telescopes for people to use as well which was pretty cool. Neat place well worth the visit on a beautiful starry night! If I had one complaint and it isn't park related, people really need to abide by the red light rules. We were absolutely blinded on several occasions by people with cell phones and other white light sources and it definitely takes you out of the experience. It really is that dark and it matters!

Established in 1986, it was the first of its kind and easily the most impressive animal sanctuary I've ever been to. Situated in upstate New York, it's a marvelous vision, the scenery is paradise. We visited for my daughter's thirteenth birthday; this is the trip she wanted most in the world. Last time she was here, I was wearing her in an infant wrap. Five years from now, I expect she will be FS staff. Scott was our tour guide today and he is perfect at his job. He introduced us to the animal ambassadors and the mission of Farm Sanctuary's founding. My girls, their friend and myself loved interacting with the wonderful animals, learning their names, hearing about their origin stories and seeing how they've adjusted to the kindness of vegans after lives of suffering at human hands. I highly recommend anyone reading this make the trip to Farm Sanctuary someday. It's a life-affirming experience. YES : VEGAN AF YES : FAMILY FRIENDLY AF

The museum costs less than $10 for a adults and it's definitely worth it. We went on a Monday and there were almost a dozen workers and volunteers building wooden boats. The woodshop is open for visitors to walk through, ask questions, and touch materials of new boats. There are new boats made from traditional methods and restoration projects going on. One restoration project has old materials when possible, but new wood is being used when original materials weren't holding up. It's excellent to see old fashioned methods preserved and appreciated! You enter this three story museum on the top floor, boats are on the top and middle floors. The museum used to be a winery. Evidence of the winery, including 1000 gallon wine barrels, are on the bottom floor. This is a great place to visit in the hot summer months because it's so comfortably chilly in the wine cellar. They take credit cards and membership starts at less than $30.

Surprisingly, as someone who loves raspberry, the razz lager was my least favorite, still drinkable and good though just not my first option. Food was ok. I had the pulled pork melt with the coleslaw and my dad had the beef melt with mac n cheese. The melt didn't have any sauce on it, it comes on the side, so it was pretty dry. My dad remarked the same thing about his melt. The chips it comes with are clearly out of a bag but I actually really liked them. The coleslaw was bare bones - I mean probably the dryest coleslaw I've ever had. I'm not even sure if it was supposed to be a vinegar or mayo based slaw, it was literally completely dry. I ended up putting some of the bbq sauce on it. We both got a side of beer cheese which was a showstopper, especially with the chips.
