His first words were the judgmental accusation that I wasn't taking this seriously enough and that my husband would be dead in six months. So we cancelled our trip-of-a-lifetime (at great expense) and began disposing of personal property. Since then, other cardiologists have said that the prognosis is 5-10 years! More than once, a simple office visit has kept me at his place of business for 2 hours. I am submitting this review from his waiting room. My appointment time is 10:50. It is now 11:23 and there are still 4 people in the waiting room who have been here longer than I. More than once, I have seen patients leave in anger or because they had other places they had to be. Dr. Burkey is a nice man and is prompt to address questions after hours, but his office protocol is highly lacking. There are now 9 people in the waiting room. There were "only" 6 when I arrived. Good luck!
