Every time except the last 2 times we went to Rock Haven, the experience was amazing. The last two times were unbelievably disappointing! First with the snacks, which used to consist of an assortment of fruits, cheeses and crackers. The last 2 times they were a snack pack bag, like the one you put in your kid's backpack. Chips Ahoy, pretzels and chips etc.... Then when we got up to the hot tub you are given a bottle of "supposed to be " chilled champagne. The last two times they champagne varied from tepid to hot! If you need a place that will uphold a positive body image, pamper you and provide top notch spa experience make a reservation now. I am a plus sized man who had never been to spa let alone planned to do a full spa experience which included a wrap, pedicure and facial. Five hours of nurturing professional attention to MY needs to relax and feel a little more human after a stress filled year. My spouse and I are already planning our next excursion to this center of spa perfection. Again if you can find the time and resources to make the trip to this oasis just off the beaten path. And treat the staff well they work hard to make everyone feel comfortable in their own skin. read more

We did the couples package that includes the massage and facial. It was pretty awesome! We were taken up the stairs to the Bungalow. There were no other people there the entire time we were there. Very private. The bathing ritual was nice with the hot tub and champagne. They had a basket of chips, crackers and cookies that you could have if you needed a snack inside the main room. I think it would have elevated the experience to another level if they had a simple cheese, crackers and fruit plate prepared for you to take out to the hot tub with you. The steam shower was a little awkward. It's a tight space and you are in there together as a couple. It would have been nice to have been given the option to have our own steam shower or to share. The massage was fantastic! We both agreed it was the best massage we have ever had! The facial was good, but not great and not really anything special. As far as the gratuity goes that I've seen a lot of comments on, it was not added to the price. They didn't even have a suggested tip on the slip. She just nicely told me that the price was for the services and gratuity was not included. I suggest you tip generously! It's worth it and they work very hard to make it a nice, relaxing experience! PRENATAL! terrible customer service. Went in for an appointment at 11:45 and were told we would not receive our massage until 1pm. Told us there was an hour and 45 minute "bathing ritual" (as if anyone would like to sit in a hot tub for an hour) and as a pregnant woman- you obviously cannot. we were not informed about this previously and they were not accommodating. told us we could wait for an hour and 15 minutes because they "didn't know what to do with us". Then attempted to charge a $50 cancellation fee for 2 people when we showed up on time and were mislead. Front desk woman was very disrespectful (not okay to treat anyone anyone- let alone a pregnant woman). we were then threatened to "be flagged and not allowed to return" as if we would have ever wanted to. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND if you have ever received a real spa treatment. waste of space read more

The owner is completely irrational and unstable!! Staff at Rock Haven made a scheduling error and when I called to determine the protocol or typical procedures for handling schedule changes the owner proceeded to yell at me and make herself the victim in the situation. Her complete disregard of feelings and respect towards the individuals who have had an appointment scheduled for over 6 months should encourage everyone to be wary of this establishment. My husband and I will never seek services at Rock Haven again; the owner was unprofessional, rude, and bad-tempered. read more

I have been to several other spas in different states since going to Rock Haven, and no other experience has been better in any way. The most appealing attribute Rock Haven has, is its welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. At other spas, I always feel uncomfortable and unsure of what I should be doing, dragging down the rest of my experience. At Rock Haven, someone is always around to seek out for help or questions, they know exactly when to assist and also when to leave you alone for privacy and relaxation, and every part of my experience felt expert, high value, and clean, which is more important at a spa than you would think!! I've never had a better pedi, or massage, and the place smell AMAZING. I've also not run into a place with an outdoor experience in the mid like they have. I love this place, and since moving out of state and looking for a similar relaxing spa, am very saddened it is not as convenient to visit as once before. If you are thinking about booking here, DO IT. So worth your time and money. And make sure to appreciate the whole team while you are there. This place is amazing! The atmosphere is totally relaxing--it's perched above the Smoky River, peacocks running around, fantastic architecture. You get to relax with a hot tub bath and a glass of sparkling wine BEFORE treatment....then be prepared for total relaxation. This was The Best facial I have ever had. I got compliments on how good my skin looked for a month afterwards, and my skin is usually uneven, blotchy, and generally hard to tame. I will be driving back out to Hays just to go to Rock Haven....it is that good. read more
