While planning our trip to PEI, I was searching for an authentic high tea experienced inspired by the "Anne of Green Gables" author, L.M. Montgomery and found this amazing and quaint house turned Tea Room. It's run by a fellow "Anne" enthsiast, Terry... who is the sweetest woman! I emailed her to make reservations for 6 people for the time we were there. While she did not have space on the days she is open... she chose to open her tea room for our party on a day she is typically closed! Very special indeed. Our six course high tea consisted of a tea ofnour choosing. We also had to try the delicous rasberry cordial and Terry's famous rhubarb punch. Next came our choices of tea sanwiches made on home made bread: cucumber, creamy egg salad, and ham. The next courses was a buttery shortbread and airy scone. The courses kept coming with rhubarb tart, choclate eclair, and delectable cakes. She even made a vegan scone and rasberry choclate cake for my mom! Her featured dessert, New Moon pudding, is from Montgomery's own cook book! We felt so spoiled and pampered by the end of our amazing experience. Terry is an amazing cook whose heart has been about tea experiences for the last 20+ years! You definitely do not want to miss this experience! Be sure to book a reservation!

They have many different types of tea and raspberry cordial straight from the L.M. Montgomery cookbooks along with New Moon Pudding which is a lemon meringue bread crumb pudding. Both are straight from her journal!!! How fun is that! The dining area is quite small so get ready to hear everyone's conversations but isn't that why tea is fun - small spaces, pinkies up, and sipping tea!!! Make sure you make reservations - it's a small dining space and they are super quick when you email them!!! Everything in the dining room is available for sale from the baked goods to the art on the walls and everything is homemade!!!!

So much better than any other dipped cone. We've eaten here before but not that impressed. The townfolk flock to it though. Probably have good burgers but I'm not a fan of burgers so I eat ice cream! The service at the outside counter is great. They do have a very nice big place to eat inside if you want to have lunch or dinner instead of a snack. BONUS-its right on the Confederate trail so a good stopping spot if you're trekking down that. YOU MUST go here when you are in Kensington PEI

Since we'd never eaten here before I asked the cashier if we ordered there or we'd get table service. The woman that was working seemed annoyed at my question and said she'd show us to a table. We ordered seafood chowder, fish & chips, and a lobster roll. When the server/cashier came around with glasses of water and utensils she still seemed a bit huffy. The seafood chowder was amazing! Most of the time chowder at restaurants are very watery and there's only small pieces of seafood floating around in the bowl. This chowder was very chunky and absolutely filled with huge pieces of seafood. This was my first lobster roll and I was not disappointed. It was so tasty, not too much mayo, large pieces of lobster all in a soft roll. The fish and chips wasn't spectacular like the other two dishes but good enough and the crinkle cut fries were perfect. Perhaps the server wasn't having a good day but eventually her mood lightened up just a bit. I'm not sure if having the manager was sitting at a table going through numbers/reports contributed to her improved service.

While taking…read morea scenic ride through PEI over the past summer, my friend and I pulled into Johnny's Dairy Bar to take a much needed break and recharge. Johnny's is located approximately 2 km west from the center of Kensington, hard to miss! This very colorful drive-in restaurant is the ideal place to bring the family for some treats and fun! This place also has a driving range, mini putt golf, and a small playground. Johnny's Dairy Bar serves up cold treats as well as typical drive-in fare with outside takeout windows in front and an indoor dine-in seating area. The cold treats offered include soft serve and hard ice cream (from ADL), sundaes, flurries, banana splits, shakes, and slushes. Treat the dog to a Pooch Parfait, which is ice cream & dog biscuit, WOOF!! The hot foods offerings include burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, poutines, fried foods, seafood, ribs, and chicken fingers. Most items can be upgraded into a Deluxe Meal for around $2 more, which includes home fries, regular fries, or baked potato and cole slaw. The outside window service was efficient. We enjoyed a large ice cream cone (coffee) and a banana split, which was so good and refreshing on a warm summer day. This is why summertime is so great! However, we could not stick around and play some mini putt golf since we still had quite a long drive ahead, headed off to Nova Scotia via the Confederation Bridge through New Brunswick. The ice cream here and a quick coffee stop at Timmy Horton's was good enough to tide us over before we had a late dinner.

Pros? Lots more flavours to choose from!! Among the four of us, we shared three cups of double scoops. Since you pay only $1 more for an extra scoop, it's very much worth it to share (instead of ordering another single scoop)! We decided to experiment and try new flavours. My sister got the Cookie Moonster again, as she really enjoyed it the last time. She also got the Moo York Cheesecake, but I felt that this flavour wasn't as good. There wasn't a prominent cheesecake flavour, and the taste really just blended with the cookie moonster. My parents shared the Cowconut (my mom's favourite; I found it a bit too overwhelming) and the Maple Walnut (it had quite a strong maple taste, but there were impressive chunks of walnut pieces in the ice cream). I opted for the vanilla - plain and simple, but the best! I also got the PEI Blueberry. We had sampled both the Apple Crisp and the Blueberry... I preferred the Apple Crisp more, but my dad found the caramel bits to be too sweet, so we got the Blueberry. Between the strawberry and blueberry, however, I do prefer the strawberry, so I'm glad I listened to the server the last time at Milky Way!
