Very disappointed with the quality of the furniture from Pottery Barn Kids. For the prices they charge, I expected much better craftsmanship and quality control. The dresser drawers are terrible -- extremely difficult to open and close, which is frustrating even for adults, let alone children. The bunk bed we purchased also arrived with chip marks all over it, and several areas looked like they had already been touched up or repaired before delivery. Honestly, it felt like we received something from a scratch-and-dent section rather than a brand-new piece of furniture. Looks nice from far away, but for over $3,200 with the trundle and mattresses, it is absolutely not worth the quality. The overall quality feels very mediocre and nowhere near what the brand markets itself to be. Definitely not the level of furniture I expected for a children's room at this price point. read more

This Pottery Barn Kids is located on the 2nd floor at the Shops at Merrick Park in Coral Gables. Not only is the store beautiful and well organized, it is also in a gorgeous shopping plaza. You and your shopping buddies can easily spend the day leisurely strolling around Merrick Park. I definitely recommend putting the time aside to enjoy this location. Ok so now back to Pottery Barn Kids - although the store is small and a bit cramped - they have managed to place many of their popular products in one store. My husband and I had our sites set on purchasing our baby girl's crib (yay for not having to wait 4 weeks shipping). We were pleasantly surprised to see the crib was in the show room. We were able to ensure it was made with high quality materials and truly visualize the crib in our nursery. It took no time at all for a friendly sales associate to assist us. She checked to make sure they had the crib and mattress in stock - then off we went to the register. She gave us 20% off the entire order (that wouldn't apply online - I checked right after). Saved about $300 (including not paying for shipping). Then we were off to pick up our crib at their warehouse location. Be sure to being a large SUV or pick up truck if you are planning to do this. Their boxes are no joke. When we arrived home, the crib and mattress were in perfect condition. Crib assembly took about 1 hour - my husband reported the instructions were easy to follow. Overall, we had a great experience at this store. I certainly recommend others to consider taking advantage of this location rather than purchasing online - will likely get a better deal! read more

We had a terrible experience at this Pottery Barn Kids today. My husband and I arrived at 8:15 and while we realized it was late, we thought we had plenty of time to do sufficient research and possibly buy a crib set. Even though we walked the entire store and were clearly looking at all the cribs, we never had any of the numerous associates available approach us to see if we needed help. It was only until it was 9 pm did we have an associate approach us and say, "Do you need any help? Because we're closed now" as she pointed towards the front door. I thought this was extremely unprofessional and lacking in service. When I advised her that we had been in the store for last 45 minutes and that she was the first person to approach us to basically kick us out, she gave a mild apology and then tried to convince me to start a registry with Pottery Barn Kids! After today's experience, I don't plan to go back to this store. read more

We ordered child's desk, chair and rug etc for approx $1000. Paid in store after being assured that all will be available for pickup the following weekend. Two weekends later, no call, no email. Called and ended up speaking to an unfriendly store associate who hardly spoke english. Called again, was told the order is not yet ready and can't say when it will be ready and it is not their problem - the company will send when the company will send. Called again, this time the guy wanted order number but could not tell me where it is on the receipt. Next call, they did not ask for anything other than name and phone and we were told to wait another two weeks and call back. What a circus! Still waiting for a call and have no idea if and when they will ever fulfill the order. read more

Purchased from this retailer a dresser in March with the hope that when the child was born, in late May the dresser would be ready adorning her room. Well the baby arrived but the dresser did not. The Baby is now three weeks old and no sign of the dresser. Customer service keeps giving us the run around. Some say that it's arriving in the hub( no idea what that is) but when no one knows. As it stands, we have no idea when delivery will take place. What is worse is that neither do them. For this reason, my recommendation is that you steer away from this retailer at any cost. read more

This store is always well organized. The staff is attentive as well. The only downside, they usually do not carry all products in store. Most of their products are online. On the plus side, they do custom embroidery at this location. On a random side note, Christian Slater shops here (I saw him in November of last year here)! After reading the reviews here, I must give the store and staff credit. I often visit this location after my morning workout at the gym. They could not be more helpful when selecting gifts for my child's school friend's birthday parties I frequent on the weekends. The store is always inspiring, and the product unique. Can't speak on the products, but I didn't like the story time. I went a few weeks ago and was the only one there, perhaps there's a reason for that... There was a nice woman conducting the story time (a Asian woman, sorry don't know her name) but she spent more time asking my son questions about himself and about the book she was reading, i.e. "what's this, what's that, tell me what color this is, can you count, tell me what animal this is". I've never been to a story time quiet like that. It felt more she was conducting an evaluation than an actually story time. read more

I will be honest I was hesitant on going to this store because of the reviews, however I Needed to get our daughter a new bedroom set ASAP considering we had a house fire 3 1/2 weeks ago and we lost everything from our cars in the garage to our dog who was hiding in our back master bathroom. I was very happy when I walked in because the store had a nice inventory and two of the three beds that I was dating between. It was not busy at all, I saw four associates available and only one other customer was in the store who was being helped by someone else. I was in the store for 22 minutes and I walked from the front to the back of the store twice without one single person even greeting me. They EACH looked at me pass them four times without saying one word. I wasn't sure if they were racist or what, but in 35 years I've never been more turned off from a large retailer. Maybe if I would have brought my husband in they would have fell at my feet and brought out bottled water, but I don't think any businesses customer service should be ran based off who you are! I got on my phone in the middle of the store and I called the west palm beach store on speaker phone and told them the three pieces of furniture that I needed and let them know that I was at the Merrick Park location, but wanted to order it from them and give them my business because the customer service was so horrible! I know two of the ladies heard me for sure and realized they missed out on a $4300.00 sale because of their rudeness. As I was walking over to Nordstrom something told me not to deal with the company in general anymore because a lot of the complaints have been going on for years and no one in HR or administration has even attempted to fix it since it's still going on and at the end of the day pottery barn was still receiving our money. I went online and decided to order a similar set which was more expensive from Restoration Hardware. Do not plan shopping Pottery Barn Kids anymore and also will discourage all our expecting friends as well. read more

Worse experience. I went to Pottery Barn Kids in Merrick Park and purchased a crib and a chair with delivery day of 12/04 , it is 12/27 and they don't know when the items are. I called over a week ago to the customer service number and waited for 45 minutes and I did not get to talk to anybody. I also called the store and they told me I was going to get a call the next day to schedule the delivery but nobody called. I decided to go to the store tonight and the manager was not able to resolve anything and instead told me that I had to call customer service since all they did at the store was to place the order for me. When I told her my card had been charged over a month ago she said that they charged me because the items had been already being sent. It seems like they take your money and don't care about delivering the items as promised. I don't recommend buying from this business. read more

We ordered from Pottery Barn bean bag chairs. Originally we called the local store and the associate was extremely helpful. The issues arose subsequent to that. We called today to check on the order status and Lisa #9243 was the rudest and most uncooperative customer service associate we have ever dealt with. I asked to speak to the manager and she refused to let us talk to one. Soooo, I called the store and spoke to a very pleasant man (Darron) who knew his products and told me that he thought he had one left. Transferred me to Angel in the stockroom who confirmed. The store has well decorated showrooms which is great since it gives you an idea how the items will look at home. I have been unhappy wit the help at this Pottery Barn kids every single time I have visited them. However, any other PB Kds is too far for me to travel. This time it was probably the worst, I wanted to buy a Christmas plate, like always, the line to pay was quite long, and when I approached a register where the lady didnt seem to be helping anyone she quickly let me know she was looking up something in the computer so I would have to wait. When she finally was ready to help me and she rang up the plate I paid with a twenty dollar bill; this was the worst part, after a lot of shuffling money in the registry she let me know that she didnt have the twelve dollars she needed to give me back; she then approached the manager who in front of me told her that when she "had the time" to go to the back of the store she would bring her money for her to put in her registry, so I had to wait. I was upset, angry and responded to the lady helping me "if Pottery Barn Kids cannot have $18 in the registry what kind of place is this, and you know what, you keep the plate, I am sure there are other stores that sell Children's Christmas Plates and can help me more courteously than Pottery Barn did". I still cannot get over how ridiculous the whole thing was, and the attitude of who they said was the manager, the lady helping me could not apologize enough, but by this time, I didnt want to hear it.
