Inviting, affordable friendly home away from home is the philosophy behind this family owned guest…read morehouse. There is an air of uncomplicatedness about the place. Staying here is like staying over at an English relatives home. So even if you aren't English and would like to know how that feels like then this is the place for you!! Located in a quiet suburb will afford you some peace and quiet without being too far away a wide variety of shops and a great choice of bars and restaurants. For you sea lovers the seafront is a minuscule 10 minutes away and the promenade is great for a relaxing walk. For animal lovers also round the corner is country park which will have you pleasently surprised with its wide variety of wildlife. If you fancied a boat trip nearby you have the Leeds to Liverpool canal which has an array of colourful barges that run to Liverpool Docklands (day trips are available). There really is lot to do to relax around here and I haven't even mentioned the Rimrose Valley nature reserve, which is perfect for some time out and relax. Another reason for chosing this as a hospitality option is if you are in the Pool to watch some footy. Whether you're going to Anfield or Goodison park from Waterloo train station to Sandhills then you can get the Soccer bus (only runs on match days) from Sandhills to Anfield or Goodison Park. Prices are very affordable ranging from £32 for single to £60 for king size. The place is perfect for a cheap overnight stay if you aren't too fussed about luxury. Great value for money makes this a great option whether you're traveling alone or with a friend.

I recently organised three days out to Liverpool for myself and a couple of friends. We were…read moregetting stressed as we found that most hotels were £45+ per night, when I found Arinza on laterooms.com (I didn't even know LR existed until I frantically googled hotels in Liverpool!). Arinza do an advance booking offer on Late Rooms where you get 20% off if you stay more than one night - so my two nights were £78.40, or £39.20 per night, rather than the total of £100 or so I was looking at before. Arinza supply you with a whole apartment, which includes electricals (i.e. kettle, and supposedly hairdryer, though we didn't find the latter), linen, towels and a little bit of soap and shampoo. You get little extras like a bag of ice in the freezer. Basically, it's a stripped-down version of anyone's house, rather than a hotel room; we had flat 2, which had 2 bedrooms (one double, one single), a bathroom (with a bath) and a combination kitchen and living room, which had two comfy leather-ish sofa beds (the backs flatten out to provide something much better than you may imagine). I kipped on one of the sofa beds and apparently got better sleep than my friends! The electricals are a bit basic, admittedly - the toaster was a mad contraption, and the DVD player took a little bit of manhandling to stop it from eating or rejecting my DVDs - but I couldn't really find anything amiss. There's freeview on the TV, although I couldn't seem to find BBC Northwest. I'm not much of a TV watcher anyway, mind, so that didn't really bother me. Generally - they''re fairly modern, and clean. The floor is squeaky, and things like mugs aren't so nice (ours were stained/looked dirty, so I used glasses - even for hot water...), but the building is comfortable and secure, with a gated car park! Anybody put off by the apartments being in Toxteth needn't worry - they're literally just beyond the sign anyway, and Toxteth isn't even that bad. It's a good thing we had a car, though, as it's a little bit of a trek into the city. My booking was supposedly at a busy time (International Beatles Day and the like), but I didn't have any issues with noise from other parties. We only had one other car in the car park, too. I did notice that it was listed as fully booked on the website, so pre-booking is important! The check-in procedure is really lax - turn up any time after 2pm, give Arinza a ring (their number is on a piece of paper on the door) and they will let you in. I came prepared with a couple of booking confirmations, my passport and my provisional, but that proved to be over-preparation. The owners don't man the building, so if you want any help you WILL need to phone them - best save the number in case. You get a little binder with information on emergency procedures, places to go and contact information, which is nice to have around. If you like having a lot of structure, you might find Arinza a little bewildering; we didn't even know how to check out, so we wrote a little note and then posted our keys through their letterbox! Their apartments are really good value for money, though, so I would fully recommend them, especially if you have transport from Toxteth to central Liverpool. Just remember to book through Late Rooms, and early, to get that 20% off. I'm torn between four and five stars, so I'll be harsh and go for four - the main downside being that I wouldn't have found much use in Arinza if we didn't have a car! I don't drive, so as great as they are, I don't know if I'd have been able to use them. A few points off for being overly casual/generally lacking information, but otherwise fantastic. Would definitely recommend.

I was very impressed with Arinza Apartments. To be clear, they're not 4* quality (closer to a 3)…read morebut I think they're excellent value and a great alternative to a hotel or hostel. I stayed in Liverpool for two nights with a group of friends. We booked 3 apartments between 12 of us. They're about a mile from the city centre in an area of town I understand to be a little rough, but taxis are cheap (£4-6 depending on time of day). The apartments are incredible value for money. It cost £50 per apartment per night and you can split that between 4 people. You can't get a hostel for the price! The apartment is made up of a bedroom, bathroom and kitchen/dining/living area. It was clean but I wouldn't say modern. The floors were very squeeky but I don't have too many complaints. They had WIFI which is really helpful. The bedroom had a double bed, wardrobe and bedside tables. The bathroom had plenty of towels. No extras (soap, shower gel) but an ok shower in the bath. My shower did have a very peculiar smell that took some getting used to. The kitchen was fitted with a fridge/freezer, gas oven, washing machine and kettle. They had some cutlery, bottle opener, plates, mugs and glasses. No towel or oven gloves but otherwise it was quite good. There was also a dining table with 4 chairs. The living areas seemed to have a minimum of a Freeview TV, sofa bed, arm chair and coffee table. Some apartments had a second arm chair. There was also a parking area that had a locked gate access. As another review said, I have no idea how you do some stuff. The check-in/check-out process is not obvious, and we needed friends to lock the car parking gate behind us when we left early. But that was all handled by a friend and he seems happy enough.

The place has a warm, relaxed and welcoming demeanour and the menu is huge (in choice not paper dimensions...)! They'll try and cater to any needs and dietary demands (we've got a lactose person and a gluten person in our family, never a problem) and nothing is too much to ask! Book though, as it gets busy... Its a bit pricey but worth it - oh and one more thing, don't eat too many starters and mains as the sweet trolley is waiting and its just as good as the rest of the menu...

The staff where very friendly and helpful giving an over all relaxed enjoyable experience. Very reasonably priced.
