When there were food scandals here a few years ago like the horsemeat scandal their name never arose. Sure you can go to the other big stores but when you look at the prices they charge for their comparable quality provisions they actually usually charge more than M&S do for their M&S labelled products. Buy cheap folks and buy twice. I only needed croissants, Parma ham, roasted cashews and some of their exquisite Indian meals but I had grandkids in tow so things like Percy pig sweets, banana milk, sugary cereals, doughnuts and fresh baked cookies ended up on the counter. We all then went to the M&S upstairs cafe; adults for cappuccinos and kids for apple juice - before this it would have been to the Starbucks in this vast centre but since they charged me 5p for a plastic cup for iced water (in Portsmouth) I've not been back. M&S provide jugs of water with glasses for free in their cafés - you don't even have to buy anything.

While I do prefer their Manchester Arndale location nearby in terms of item stocked and overall look/feel of the store, this store certainly isn't a bad alternative and I do seem able to get the majority of the items I need when I visit the store. The layout of the store is pretty easy to follow, I like how they've combined the cupboard and fridge "Made Without Wheat" range to be right next to each other, which makes the whole shopping experience much quicker. There are no toilets in store which is rare for a large Marks and Spencer, there are plenty of toilet facilities around the rest of the Trafford Centre though. 4*

It could be better lit and sign-posted in the car-park area, especially for pedestrians as it did seem a little dangerous for me, as I struggled to find my way out. Pretty much an average ASDA, the selection was fine, I also like the Scan and Go app where you can use your mobile phone to scan items as you shop, to save time at the checkouts. The staff could have been slightly more helpful in regards to finding items. 3* - OK sums it up, multiple better ASDA stores (or supermarkets) in the area to do your shopping, but it's in a good location and useful for the people of Warrington.

The village has a delightful market in the centre where one can buy dressed crab, cooked whole lobster and my absolute total, complete favourite, in all the world, potted brown shrimps, sealed in butter. Forget caviar and lobster this, with good buttered toast, is the true food of the gods. Ambrosia. There are flower sellers, cake sellers, sellers of LP's from the 1960's, cheese sellers offering small batch local cheeses, folks with woodfired ovens for sourdough pizzas, beer and wine sellers, upmarket hand made chocolates, oriental and Jamaican food (I don't think I could face goat curry) and a fish & chip shop. I'm sure I've left out a lot of purveyors in this snapshot. It's also teeming with competitively priced coffee places, cafes and bars and as the competition is so fierce there's no downmarket offerings.

It has improved a lot since my last visit, the store is now much cleaner and free of clutter to warrant an upgraded rating. The selection in the food hall was good, they had a nice range of products, again this might be slightly less compared to other stores, but I still was able to find the majority of what I needed which was handy. This store is also using the new Mobile Scan and Pay, where you can scan items and bag them as you shop in the Food Hall, pay via your phone and walk out, this is a feature I love but it always makes me feel strange as you just walk out of the store, it makes you feel like a thief, even though you have paid, you do get a payment proof on your phone incase someone does stop you, but I am worried about the security of this if someone is dishonest. Most of the staff seemed friendly and happy to help when required. Above-average Marks and Spencer store, a great brand to have in Altrincham if you don't feel like going into the city centre or another larger store.

This is another example of how superstores are now catering for almost everything you may want…read more Despite having almost the same products at, mostly, very similar prices to the ASDA which is within spitting distance (Yeuch!), both store carparks are usually full and the owners of the cars almost always in the shops spending money. They stock all the usual Tesco goods plus clothes, toys, household items, white goods, in fact, almost everything could want to buy on a normal afternoon shopping trip. The checkouts are efficient and the supervisors are often on hand to guide you to the least busy till. All of the staff have, in my experience, shown themselves interested in doing their jobs with as much cheerfulness as they can.

The things I like best about this particular store is that its not too large in size; Ive been to some branches of Tesco and they seem to be too big. The walk from toilet rolls to beans seems to be miles long! I get lost in them! But theres no danger of that in this Tesco because its just the right size! Theres a nice cafe and the toilets are always clean and looked after which is an added bonus. I think others would agree with me because I find its always so busy!!

The store has good facilities you'd expect to find in most Marks and Spencer locations including an M&S Cafe, Food Hall and toilet facilities. I did find the Food Hall to be a reduced selection compared to what you'd usually find in Marks and Spencer, it seems to offer a taster of the brand, more than anything else. For example, they may sell many products such as meat, dairy and fruit juices, but the choices within these sections seem to be much fewer than in other stores. I couldn't find the specific type of sausages and milk that I wanted... but there were similar alternatives Many items seemed to have a much shorter shelf life than I would have liked/expected too, I noticed the use-by date on many products to be 2-3 days, and that in a different store would be considerably longer. I understand they are restricted by Sunday trading hours, but it is a shame they are one of the first stores in town to close on a Sunday, I would much prefer their opening hours to be from 11 am to 5 pm, compared to their current 10:30 am to 4:30 pm, as the extra half hour in the afternoon makes all the difference to me. The opening hours Monday to Saturday, are much more reasonable between 8 am and 7 pm. 3* - A nice modern store, a decent size, and a great brand to have in the town, but not the best Marks and Spencer by all means, with some issues.

They stock a good range of toiletries for all ages and gender. A wide variety of cleaning Products is availible and you can find the same brands week in week out. Poundland also have a very extensive range of tools in stock for the DIY nuts. Basically you can find most of what you need for any occasion in store at the reasonable price of £1. Staff are always very friendly and will help in anyway they can. You can sometime wait to be served but this is due to the vast amount of people who use the store and not lack of care from the staff. Overall a fantasic shop, well worth a visit while doing your weekly shopping.

Whether you love to bake, read or clean (well no one loves to do that but hey) there is something for everyone at poundland including pretty but cheap earphones and CD's for the music enthusiast and seasonal clothing accessories such as sandles and wooly scarves, mothers/father's day gifts and even Halloween costumes and Easter/Halloween/Christmas decorations. I would say on an average time I go, I go to spend around 3 quid and end up spending way more as there are so many great deals. You can even go there for a cheap lunch as they sell sandwiches from the fridge and even fruit in some stores and even canned drink usually on offer so you can be set for the day.. The grapes may be a thing to be wary of as the ones I bought were super sour but that could be just bad luck. Why settle for less than the best when you can get the best for a pound! You can also buy certain home brand items such as makeup and even these are just as good as branded items. Certainly worth checking out even if for as few rarely bought items. Car and pet things are also available. Yes the store is usually crammed whatever time of day you go and the shelves are always fully stocked however occasionally such as around Christmas items you may go for will not be stocked as they make room for seasonal goods.
