This nice pousada boasts a lot of bright and colourful decoration. Comfy communal seating area (for watching TV, etc.). There are moderately priced bottled water and other drinks available and one just helps oneself and notes one's room number. Wifi worked well (unlike my typical experience in BR).
My room (no 11) was quite wonderful, if not very big. But nice interior. Very clean. Good quality fittings and equipment. The breakfast is excellent. And the staff is helpful. But not much English spoken (in most pousadas one will need a few bits of Portuguese). The place is run by a Brazilian-German couple. So German is also spoken (by the manager/owner if he is around).
The place is on a street with quite tatty houses, but very close to Porto's main streets. A bit difficult to find. The pousada has good directions on its web site.
There can be a bit of noise in the evenings/nights coming from the bars a stone's throw away. If you are a light sleeper you may find this an issue. But very quiet and relaxing indeed during the day.
I would give a good 4 1/2 stars. So 5 stars is more justified than 4. I enjoyed my stay a lot. read more
