We stayed in one of the beachfront pousadas. The rooms were a little older, but clean and had all the amenities you might need. We loved the hammock that was strung just outside of our door.
The food at the restaurant was surprisingly great! They had a big menu, despite it being low season. When the restaurant wasn't open, the pool bar had everything else we needed.
You had better practice your Portuguese before arriving. Besides the manager, who wasn't often available, the rest of the staff are non-English speakers. Generally, I would say that they were helpful. They were moderately friendly though, but it's hard to tell whether it had to do with the language barrier or attitudes.
All things considered, this is a wonderful place to stay, the location is fantastic, and the food is great! read more
