This is our favorite local farmers market! There's a train that runs and is super kid friendly. The line can get very long for train tickets and waiting so go early if it's on your to do list. The market itself is about two blocks and some change. All of the vendors are really friendly & knowledgable. This farmers market is extremely dog friendly so be aware if you have allergies. The only downside to this market is how rude people can be when it comes to their dogs. We've seen owners let their dogs go to the bathroom just steps away from vendor tents and it's disgusting. Overall a really nice farmers market with lots of yummy food & local produce. read more

I'm absolutely in love with farmer's markets, and this one is one of our favorites to go to! There's always so many options for everything and the vendors are always so friendly! We've always wanted to get fresh, warm and delicious bread and pastries from the Chaupain Bakery stand, but their line has always been insanely long. Luckily enough during our visit this past weekend, the line wasn't as terrible when we passed by them--you grab that opportunity without dilly dallying because a minute later, that can change real quick. We got a slice of their caramelized onion quiche, a strawberry bar, a chocolate chip muffin, and a bag of their brioche buns. Sooooo yummy! We also got Amapola's banana pudding and it was divine! The perfect dessert for a sweet tooth. It's served chilled, so creamy and not too sweet. I love that you still get some banana chunks in there too. Will definitely get this again the next time we visit! I was also in dire need of more coffee that morning, so I decided to get some from Wipeout Coffee. I got a large Iced Hazelnut Latte with oat milk. I was so happy to get to try new coffee from a local roaster! It was pretty good--I really enjoyed my drink--just an insane amount of ice even after asking for light ice. Their coffee was just so crisp and refreshing. They also have all kinds of fresh and vibrant greenery, flowers, and produce that are all just so hard to resist! The farmers market is set up on the street in Poway in front of the train station at old Poway park. It has several vendors, but they are too tightly crammed together, and the narrow gap to walk past them is way too small. People bring giant strollers that fit 2-4 kids and they take up the whole walkway. The whole thing is a giant cluster and whoever came up with the logistics needs to be reassigned. There are a mix of vendors selling items, making food (breakfast lunch), chiropractors, cookie companies, salsa companies, etc. OF course there are some farmers with their fruits and veggies and there are also people selling fresh fish. There are some good options if you can find parking, deal with the chaos and crowd, and the train bells. I know it is on Saturdays from like 8 am - 2 pm, but I am not sure if it is every weekend or just certain weekends. read more

Absolutely love this farmers market! We've been coming here for awhile now, and now have our favorites we have to stock up on every other Saturday. A few must trys here are the Mikolich honey (the only one I will even eat now!), Samadhi seamoss (amazing product), and the Nom stop chili crisps! They also have delicious pastries to try! This farmers market in particular is extra special because they have a train that goes around the park and tickets are only a couple dollars. The kids of course love this part the most! Instagram brought us here, mainly for the train ride! My daughter loves trains and thought this would be a great Saturday morning outing for the family. The trains don't start until 10AM, but the farmers market opens at 8. We got there around 930 and decided to roam around. A majority of the vendors were hot food vendors and everything looked so good. I had read about the Belgian fries and that was on my list to try. There's 3 sizes but we got the biggest one with the garlic aioli sauce and ketchup. I actually preferred ketchup instead of the aioli. The fries had a good crunch and were meaty. Fried perfectly! The train line was looking kind of long and it had just opened, so if you dont want to wait, i suggest getting there earlier than 930 to secure your spot in line. I waited probably 30 minutes. The train does 2 laps around the park. I believe there's different trains each week so be sure to check the website. It was $5 For adults and $2 for kids. After the train ride, we realized we missed the other half of the market! Checked those out as well. Bought a chicken karaage rice bowl from one the japanese stands and my daughter tore it up! It's a cute place to walk around, get some steps in. Sample some foods. There's a restaurant called hamburger factory but didnt try it. Parking is free and there are a couple of public lots close by. Definitely one of the nicer markets as it didnt feel too crowded and free parking is definitely a great thing! read more

SO many vendors to choose from! Excellent quality from local farmers. Love the Italian Cheese guy who introduced me to this FM through Instagram. Most or all vendors sell what they grow and with SD having so much farmland, it's authentic. I drive about 15-20 minutes to get there, but it's well worth it. I recommend getting there early, as it gets hot and I suspect parking gets trickier. We parked in an unpaved lot just on the side of the market. You won't be disappointed!! read more

Great place for the family with a little bit of everything for everyone. The place itself is cute and has nostalgic vibes, since it's an old railroad station. There are many vendors including food, drinks, plants, fruits and veggies, and more. Definitely check out Sauc.d - I got a sample of their sauces, and now I'm hooked! They were so yummy, I had to get two jars. If you go early enough, get the Dubai donut from Mr. Crispy's. And of course, can't go wrong picking up a snack from House of Bao. There's plenty of parking at the parking lot or the neighboring streets. There's also seating throughout the area. If you're lucky enough, you'll catch the person singing Disney songs too. The Poway Farmer's Market is such a great Saturday spot. I've gone two Saturdays in a row, once around 10am and another time closer to 8:30am. The earlier visit was definitely less crowded, but both times were totally manageable and enjoyable. The vibes are fantastic, and it's right near a park where you can sit, relax, and enjoy whatever treats you pick up. There's a great mix of vendors and everything feels well curated. Some favorites were Chaupain and their yogurt cart, Saigon Coffee, Down to Ferment Hot Sauce, and Gold Coast Mede. Lots of great tasting experiences and super friendly vendors who are happy to chat. Parking nearby was easy too, which is always a plus. Highly recommend making this part of your Saturday routine. read more

Was in town to visit my son. He took me to the local farmers market. First off there's plenty of parking. It seems like a lot of different vendors, I like how it's organized. The entrance has mostly produced vendors, while the back is mostly food vendors. I personally have never been to a Farmers market that had this many different kinds of food vendors. They had sweet, savory,and healthy options. We ended up at Glutenus maximus Bakery. Must be a popular location as the line was already forming. I got a ham and cheese croissant and some other sweet desserts. I like how the vendors were given out samples and trying to interact with the public. I hate when they act board or disinterested. The Poway Farmers Market is one of our fun go to spots on a Saturday morning. It is full of vendors displaying the colors of beautiful and fresh vegetables, flowers, baked goods and other products. The vendors are always happy to help, friendly and sociable. It is held at the Old Poway Park where there are a whole lot of other activities to experience: ride a steam or diesel train, visit the Heritage Museum or browse through the crafted wares. There are other shops and the Hamburger Factory Family Restaurant to drop into. I highly recommend spending a couple of hours visiting. It will be worth your time especially if you've never done it yet. We keep coming back! read more

One of my favorite farmers markets to visit! So many vendor options from produce stands to hot foods, to local made products. I have picked up so many amazing items that have easily become a staple in my home and frequently visit to restock my home. I'm impressed with how well utilized the space is compared to other farmers markets. The location is ideally located in a park with other small businesses that visitors can go support and have a picnic with their family. The service here is always friendly and helpful. There is plenty of parking at the lot or along the street. Get here early to avoid the crowds. On Saturday mornings between 8AM and 1PM Midland Road in Poway is the site of a Farmers Market between Adrian street to the north and right around where the Old Poway Market is to the south. It is divided into a northern and southern section by Temple street that you need to cross to get between the two sections. Parking is plentiful very early right about when it starts. If you come a few hours later it can get crowded and you may have to search further out for parking. I've come a few times over the years and it's always been a fun time. There are a good number of produce vendors and food vendors. The last time here I got a pastrami sandwich from The Pastrami Stand and some bottles of mead from Golden Coast Mead. Old Poway Park right nearby has a museum, a gazebo where musical acts sometimes perform, a train that kids can ride, and plenty of places to sit and eat whatever you got at the farmers market. There are bathrooms at the train station and also at the Heritage Museum at the west side of the building. read more

Now this is a hidden SD gem! First time here and I was in awe of the park, set-up, community and all the vendors that were available! They open at 8am and close promptly at 1pm so get there on time! The Saturday crowd was definitely on their A game! Everyone was so friendly and the sun was out and shining! There is a little park nearby with a train too! In want to come back here for a date day! I think it depends on the day. The day I went was hot and it was so crowded. The variety of stalls was nice and it looked like there were yummy samples. The train took 40 minutes to get on. My lemonade took 40 minutes. One lemonade. Other stalls took around 10-20 minutes to get different kinds of food and the chauplain one was fantastic. Some stall owners were very friendly while others seemed frantic (especially the smoothie/acai bowl one that had a mob and no order). read more

Probably the best farmers market in San Diego! It is soooo family friendly! I had so much fun just being there. They had live music, there was so many kids and my toddler was able to be social! I also loved how much parking there was! It wasn't stressful at all like other farmers markets which is the main reason I don't go! Poway farmers market is a great place! It's smaller than little Italy, but it is a nice size. Lots of great products! If you go near the end, lots of places start to sell their goods for cheaper... if you're willing to deal with the heat, but of course it is also nice to go earlier and support the businesses regardless of the time. The almond butter is a must. Also got the lentils, which were surprisingly so good! Highly recommend the chocolate and cheddar, hope to try the marshmallow sometime soon. Baba foods dips are so good. If you're up for something sweet, try a cinnamon bun from Glutenus Maximus! read more

This place has grown so much bigger. Great to bring kids and dogs too. It seems there are more cooked food venders and packaged snacks for humans and pets than there are organic fruit and vegetable stands. Organic fruits and vegetable stands use to be the majority of stands. My favorite vegetable vender no longer is there so I mainly go for the Belgian fries. Its in the purple colored tent with yellow text that says "Belgian Fries". Its so good! The young gentleman that handles that booth on his own is so sweet. No, unfortunately he is not Belgian. Its become really popular, I knew it would be a hit! Who doesn't want freshly cut potatoes that are fried twice infront of you, warm, crispy and addictive! If you go later in the day, expect a line! He does not have mayonnaise for fries, he has ketchup. The fries he dashes some salt on top. But if you don't want salt, you can tell him. If you want ketchup, he puts it in a small white disposable collapsible cup. $7 small, $8 medium, $9 large. Small is enough for me. He is generous. Most people I see there buy medium. It's served in a paper folded into a cone shape. Just don't trip and fall or else the fries go flying. Not the most stable container for the fries. I definitely recommend this farmers market. I love that this farmers market has free parking and you will end up parking not far away. It is nice to take a walk. Compared to La Jolla farmers market where it is near impossible to find close parking and Little Italy farmers market, you pay $10-$20 for parking. There are various lots to choose from or side of street parking, but those are few. Handicap parking spots in lots are close access to the venders. Venders selling honey, fresh baked bread, boba and other types of drinks like Vietnamese coffee, fresh local eggs, succulent plants and flowers freshly cut, pickled vegetables in jars, icee dessert kind of like flavored shaved ice, kefir, seafood, dry fruit wraps, avocado toast, dog treats and so much more to experience. Sometimes there is live music. I wish they had bands play here. But on days where they have live music, its like a one man playing guitar or a group of young student musicians playing string instruments, classical music. I don't come here often, but when I do and I hear music, I contribute to their fund donation as an encouragement to keep playing and growing. Makes me happy to see them there. I usually try to go early morning when there is no line for fries. They open at 8am and close I think at 2pm. Unfortunately, I went in the afternoon and ended up in a line for fries 20 minutes before closing time. Some vendors accept credit card too besides cash payment. read more

There is a whole section devoted to crafts, Parking abundant and readily available. It is a great place for all ages. The adjacent park offers train rides through the park, crafts, large green spaces for families. The market handicapped friendly with plenty of handicapped parking & mobility van parking. The vendors are wonderfully. This market is the place to go on Saturday mornings not only for shopping, but also for the "feel good. vibe. read more

I was so excited to get some warm fresh food at the market; granted I hadn't been in about over a year so I wasn't aware of the operating hours or set rules. I could see the whole market set up and vendors already selling products. As I approached the food stand that I wanted to purchase from; an older lady approached me. She sternly asked "Do you work here?" I was a little thrown off because I was so excited to buy some food, I quickly said " Oh no, I'm here to support" She quickly answered "Well they're not allowed to sell before open. I manage and coordinate this whole thing" I didn't realize we still had 10 mins to open; again a newbie and excited to get some yummy food and support another small business, as I too am a small business owner and my schedule is crammed; as to why I have not had a chance to come by in over a year. This lady literally kicked the excitement right from under me. I don't know if she was just patrolling the tamale stand I happened to want to support or if she would've had the same reaction if I was standing in front of the smoothie or avocado toast stand. But I have to say for someone who claims to manage and coordinate this farmer's market; you have to be able to speak in a welcoming and inviting manner. I feel bad for the vendors that have to endure and tolerate her poor attitude. Hopefully you can change your manners and approach to customers wanting to support. The tone and body language goes a long way. read more

It was bigger than it looked from the front entrance and lots of lines on both sides for customers buying fresh fruits and vegetables. Nice average sized farmers market in Poway that has everything you need. There's a good amount of vendors but not close to the size of Little Italy. Parking is not bad as they have a few lots setup as well as normal street parking so that is a huge plus for me. read more

Was doing my usual farmers market shop when to my surprise was stopped suddenly in my tracks! A new shop had popped up at the market. It was called "Onigiri House" and featured some cool things. The sign had a few traditional onigiris and some really interesting fusion type onigiri. I saw salmon, omebushi, eggplant with miso, Korean bulgogi, and many more. They also had karage bowls. I bought several for myself and then when I had gotten to the car (after sending pics to family)....I had to go back and buy more. Lol I must say it was so delicious that I have been asking for them to return ever since. Looking forward to seeing them become a permanent part of the Saturday market. read more

First time visiting a Farmer's Market in San Diego and I was absolutely impressed with it! It was a bigger market than I thought where they were selling delicious foods like grilled cheese, waffle sandwich, onigiri, dumplings and more. They had also some fresh produce and fishes which all looked so good. They even sold hummus, salsa, pasta noodles, pasta sauce and even Thai sauces! I definitely was excited and had fun looking around. I came here at around 11 am, which was a slight mistake where parking was a bit hard to find but barely found one at a public parking. It was less than 0.3 mile walk so not bad but I do encourage to get there earlier for parking spot. According to the website, they open at 8 am to 1 pm on Saturdays so try to get there early for better parking spots and/or more produces/items to buy. But overall, I'm definitely coming again (and making sure not to do grocery shopping before I head to the Farmer's Market). read more

This is one of my favorite Farmer's Markets to visit! It's on Saturday's- I usually grab some lunch and suggest grabbing some lunch from one of the vendors and taking it over to the park for a picnic! They have a lot of local favorites and a good variety of food trucks and vendors. There is a lot of activity in the area both from the market and nearby businesses so sometimes you can't park exactly where you planned, but there is plenty of parking both in lots and street parking. Just have a little patience and keep an eye out for kids running out. It's a super family-friendly activity! Onigiri House and The Mulk Co are my two favorites. I keep coming back to them again and again at this market and when I see them pop up in other places in SD. I found this farmer's market on my way to J's Smoking Bbq.  It's every Saturday and takes up 2 blocks.  I noticed 3 strawberry vendors.  There is a good selection of produce and hot food.   I tried an apple turnover from Chaupain Artisan French Bakery.  Crunchy outside and soft buttery inside.  Sweet apple filling.  Pretty good apple turnover.  Would be a very good apple turnover with more apple filling and less sugar in the filling.   Almond croissant from Chaupain had soft delicate layers.  Nice mix of buttery and almond flavor.  What was missing was the crunchy outer layer.  Partially my fault as I didn't eat it till 1:30pm and the croissant was likely baked early in the morning.  Better than your grocery store croissant but not as good as Bread & Cie. I also tried the strawberries from a Yasukochi Family Farms.   I buy from them at Hillcrest Farmers Market too.  Strawberries are grown in Oceanside.   They were ripe, juicy, and full of sweet strawberry flavor.  $12 for 3 baskets.  Brocolli was freshly cut and full of broccoli flavor. There are 2 succulent vendors with excellent prices.  $2 each or 3 for $5. I love shopping at Farmers Markets for the fresh produce that is usually picked earlier that day.  For fruit like strawberries that are ripened on the vine and picked same day the flavor is amazing.  One advantage to this market versus a huge one like Hillcrest is you can find parking within a block of the market. read more

I very much like the farmer's market in Poway. I go there pretty often on my free Saturdays. It is refreshing to be out and looking at all the goodies galore. The last time I was here, I had taken my fiancee out to show him the stall with the strawberries I like. He admitted they were really good when we tried one. We also ended up purchasing honey along with some chocolates. My favorite thing to get is the beef patty, as its delicious. Other times I prefer the grab flowers from here when meeting a girlfriend for a surprise, or picking up macarons. Parking is plentiful on the sidewalks. read more
