Over the past 11 years, we've welcomed two wonderful miniature goldendoodles from them, and both experiences have been exceptional. Jen's communication throughout the process was outstanding. She sent regular updates on puppy development and overall progress. I appreciate the trait testing and information that provides as well. We always felt informed and confident about what to expect. The preparation materials she provided before bringing our puppy home were incredibly helpful and made the transition much smoother. BEWARE! Standard poodle familys. I am the past owner of Drizzle from the winter litter of standard poodles. He had to be returned to the ranch. When he came to us he was timid as noted in his orginal webcite post. He was in training to be a service dog. He was doing very well but it slowly became evedent that somthing was wrong. Developing over about a 6month time. His vet noted that he was showing signs of early onset alzheimer's. He started to show signs of aggression. Not his fault. Due to us loving him so much we trierd to have him stay home as he could no longer go in public. Then the night came that he came 2 inch from biting my face. He could no longer be in our home. We called terry and the ranch to return him via our contract and trierd to explain his problem to them. They came as we packed all his toys.....he was spoiled rotten so many toys haha. Now we were told by them when we were ready we could get a new puppy from them. We as a family meaning me and my mother are both disabled and dicided a home service dog whos only task is alerting would be best and a small breed would be helpful. Now after contacting those at the ranch have said 1. I can not have a small dog as I have epilepsy......not every sezuire looks the way you see on tv. I do not convolse 2. They think drizzle was abused. but are still willing to give us a dog. just not small..Mind you we have vet proof. Please if your dog came from any of the winter litter or desendents becarefull and watch. We love drizzle and miss him dearly. read more

I have owned 5 Standard Poodles over the years from different breeders. I have to say that the best Poodle I have ever owned came from Powder Valley! Terry must be doing something right! I can't say enough wonderful things about the kindest, smartest, most intuitive dog I have ever owned! She is a Party Poodle and is now 6 years old. When she was a puppy, she was runner-up to the Cutest Dog in Boulder! I worry that her life is nearly half over since big dogs don't usually go much beyond 12! Beware of this breeder. They ask for a 100 dollar deposit to even get on their waitlist. Once on it, you are put in order to pick out your puppy based on who placed a deposit first. If the puppy you want is not available, and you want to switch to another later litter, they steal your deposit. Scam artist. Also, look up "terry jester halo". This is the same Breeder who has changed their name multiple times. Basically they scammed people into donating desirable dogs for veterans, then kept and bred them for money. read more

We purchased a miniature poodle from this breeder and found out after 4 1/2 years that it has Addison's disease, a genetic adrenal gland autoimmune disease that comes from genetic inheritance. This breeder denies the genetic flaw in her poodles and refuses to help us in any way with over $3000 in expenses we've incurred so far. We almost lost our dog to the disease. Our dog does have a wonderful temperament but poodles are known to carry this autoimmune disease. Buyer beware. So no one else has to go through this heartache, please make sure to ask the breeder if their dogs have been tested genetically before buying. read more

I don't know what planet Rose from Denver is on, but quite obviously she has not had any experience with reputable dog breeders. A standard deposit of $300-$500 is expected. Not only to hold your place in line for the puppy, but also for your commitment to buy the dog. A lot of money is spent by dog breeders for stud fees, DNA testing and testing for genetic problems that the parents might have A reputible breeder with not use dogs that have genetic problems. I purchased a puppy from Terry a year ago. A miniature poodle. I have never had a smarter, more loving dog than Rosie. I put a $300 deposit on one litter, only to purchase a puppy that was available at the time from a previous litter (my loving Rosie). Terry applied my deposit to the price of the new puppy. I simply do not believe the review published by Rose H. I do not know where Rose got her information, but my vet has known Terry Jester for over 20 years and has nothing but good things to say about Powder Valley Poodles. I don't know what happened in Rose's case, but frankly, to post a hideous review for a dog breeder tells me that this woman has issues. As far as I know (and I am local to the breeder), Terry has never 1) changed her name multiple times 2) scammed people into donating desirable dogs for veterans, or kept and bred them for money. I think that Rose H. was upset for whatever reason and wrote her review out of spite. Don't listen to her review, because it simply is not true. I am considering getting another dog from Terry. I got a Goldendoodle puppy from the first litter that Terry bred back in 2012. She has turned out to be the best dog I've ever had. People always comment about her -- how beautiful she is, how sweet, how well-mannered. I never have a problem getting someone to watch her when needed; everyone always says, "We love Bella. She's welcome to stay with us anytime." She was never hyper; her disposition is superb. She's extremely smart. She's also a mighty hunter! We live on a large acreage surrounded by national forest. She grabs fish out of the creek (she's done the same at the ocean); she's caught wild turkeys, baby geese, chipmunks, squirrels. If it runs, it's fair game. She is about as perfect as you can get. Terry does an excellent job in testing dogs for temperament, etc. and trying to match the puppy to the owner. I was leaning towards getting one puppy (I had third overall pick, and the first two wanted therapy dogs), but Terry said, "No, I think Cello is the right one for you." (Terry interviews you and has you tell her about your lifestyle.) Well, she was absolutely right! Couldn't have a better dog than my sweet Bella Coola. read more

Terry is a responsible breeder whose dogs are all diligently health-tested and guaranteed. Terry was wonderful through the entire process of getting a puppy. She asked for a much smaller deposit than other breeders to hold our place for an upcoming litter. Once the litter was born, she sent an update with pictures. She sent an update with pictures again when the pups were about 6 weeks old. She was very particular to guard the puppies health and did not allow any visits prior to the day we selected our pup. On selection day, she reminded all prospective puppy parents not to wear clothing or shoes that had been around other dogs or in pet stores as the pups had only had their first set of shots. We really took that to heart and are keeping our pup away from other dogs or areas other dogs have been in until he has all of his shots. On the selection day, Terry gave us a brief interview so she could select dogs with the appropriate temperament for us. Our pup, Teddy, selected us right away but Terry had scheduled a full hour so we did not feel rushed. She also surprised us with a small bag of dog food, leash, halter and a smelly toy for Teddy. That toy, which smelled of Teddy's mom and litter, really helped us through the first few nights in Teddy's new forever home. Teddy had a well puppy checkup three days later and is in fine health. He is a very smart dog and we could not be happier. We strongly recommend Terry and her brilliant dogs! read more
